Man uses Kinect for Predator cloak
He wasn't an alien after all - he was from the future

I'm struggling to see what's not good about this.  ;D

Man uses Kinect for Predator cloak
He wasn't an alien after all - he was from the future

A man in Japan has hacked Kinect so that it cloaks him in a Predator-like invisibility shield - or at least it looks like it.

Japanese coder Takayuki Fukatsu has exploited the motion cam so that it tracks his movement, but turns his details into an almost perfect transparent effect.

What the tinkered sensor is actually doing is skinning his image with a picture of the background - but don't tell Arnie that, it'll ruin the surprise.

This sounds worrying!

MS: 2011 'all about Kinect'
"Kinect's new line-up will blow you away"

Microsoft has claimed that its 2011 will "ultimately be all about Kinect" - as the device spearheads a "brilliant" line-up on 360.

MS's director of Xbox and Entertainment for the UK, Stephen McGill, was asked what the secret to Xbox's success so far had been in the latest issue of Xbox World 360.

As you may expect, he said it mainly came down to "incredible games", but added: "It's also about great entertainment and that's another key factor for us. We were the first company - and the best company, I think - to offer regular updates to our service so you don't have to keep on buying new bits of hardware.

"Every few months we've been doing new services such as introducing movies and music so we continue to evolve."

Discussing next year's prospects, McGill added: "As for the future, we've got a brilliant line-up for 2011 but it's ultimately all about Kinect. Kinect is going to blow people's minds. They're [already] buying it, but we've got a line-up of Kinect games that will blow people away."

Worrying because MS sound as though they are going to start ignoring the core gamers which is what most people were worried about from the start, only two big exclusives being released next year (Gears 3 & Forza 4) whereas the PS3 has around ten.  Not good!

and whatever Halo game 343 bring out.

their will be 20-30 xbox exclusives in 2011, of which 80% will be kinect based.

When the Kinect tech is lower in price and there is a good dozen games i wanna play, then i'll buy it. Kinectimals looks like somethng my daughter will really love and i want the dancing game. I wouldn't buy a console for 2 games though.

Sounds ominous to me!

This could be good news. If most of the games they sell are for Kinect, and I can't buy Kinect because my living room's too small, then it should save me a tonne of money on games I can't buy :) (See there's always a plus side)

You know me so well   ;D

Obviously there will be some great multi platform games next year that i'll only play on the 360 but despite my love for Gears, the PS3 has a far better exclusive line up of core games than the 360.
