who the hell is still buying games released last year?  It's not like they're now classics or dropped dramatically in price?

Deadly Premonition outsells Bad Company 2
Is this the worst game ever to top the US charts?

This is one of those statistics that's so bizarre, we had to check it twice to make sure we weren't imagining it. According to US sales charts compiled by Gamasutra,  Ignition's Deadly Premonition was the best selling Xbox 360 title of the last week.

The surreal survival horror game, loosely based on cult TV series Twin Peaks, was boosted by a one-day price cut on Amazon's US retail site.

Although Destructoid gave it a perfect 10/10 review score, the overall outlook has been less positive - it currently has a Metacritic rating of just 65.

Disappointingly, Deadly Premonition isn't region-free and there's still no news on it getting a release in the UK. If you're as morbidly curious as we are, check out this official trailer for some extremely low-budget thrills.

FIFA 11 has held onto top spot in the Chart Track UK All-Format charts.
PES 2011 couldn't quite muster up the necessary challenge - FIFA 11's launch week amounted to 10 times that of its Konami rival.

It's also the first time since 2001 that a Pro Evolution title hasn't gone straight to number 1.

Dead Rising 2, F1 2010 and Halo: Reach held third through to fifth respectively while Castlevania: Lords of Shadow entered at sixth above Enslaved: Odyssey to the West, which was seventh.
