You may need to put the R4 software on the memory card, sometimes you can buy the R4 with it already loaded, most of the time you need to do it yourself.

and Update the software every 6months or so, then you'll have less trouble playing the latest games

I think the last time I turned my DS (with R4) on was to play GTA Chinatown Wars ... about a year ago.

Can you use these to play emulators aswell, for SNES and stuff? Because that would come in unbelievably handy. Even though an infinite number of free DS games will be enough of a time sink as it is >.<

I wasn't expecting it for another couple f weeks but it arrived today and I've wasted no time getting a shitton of RPG's loaded up and ready. The website for downloading the firmware only works in Internet Explorer though for some reason so I had to reinstall that today. Other than that this thing is great. Now all my money can go on Xbox games instead of DS and Xbox games. :D

I abuse the emulator capabilities.  More so than actually playing DS games.  Nothing like some Streets of Rage and Super Street Fighter II to pass the time on long trips.

I have an original (fat) DS.  The red limited Mario Kart edition.

My WP7 phone has pretty much monopolized my handheld gaming needs.  I'm actually looking to get rid of my DS.

I use the M3Real Pefect Bundle, which does include a "GBA Expansion Pack".

I'm not sure of the GBA Expansion Pack is used for emulators.  I have the whole bundle perma-installed in my DS.  No reason to take it out, as I no longer own any actual DS games.
