Resident Evil 2 [Remake]
« on: August 20, 2018, 08:12:42 PM »

The genre-defining masterpiece Resident Evil 2 returns, completely re-built from the ground up for a deeper narrative experience. Using Capcom’s proprietary RE Engine, Resident Evil 2 offers a fresh take on the classic survival horror saga with breathtakingly realistic visuals, heart-poundingly immersive audio, a new over-the-shoulder camera, and modernized controls on top of gameplay modes from the original game. The nightmares return reimagined for PS4 on January 25, 2019.

In Resident Evil 2, the classic action, tense exploration, and puzzle solving gameplay that defined the Resident Evil series returns. Players join rookie police officer Leon Kennedy and college student Claire Redfield, who are thrust together by a disastrous outbreak in Raccoon City that transformed its population into deadly zombies. Both Leon and Claire have their own separate playable campaigns, allowing players to see the story from both characters’ perspectives. The fate of these two fan favorite characters is in players hands as they work together to survive and get to the bottom of what is behind the terrifying attack on the city. Will they make it out alive?

Two things...

1) Can still remember seeing these Lickers in the OG RE2 for the first time...just as creepy and memorable as those dogs in the first RE.

2) The one thing these Survival Horror games keep on doing is the annoyingly 'slow-trot' for their characters. I know it's supposed to add to the tension for the player, but really...these fleshy, fanged-out fierce creatures are stalking you...no way you're taking a slow trot through these spaces.

As a note of clarification, seems this demo is a one-shot deal, meaning play it once do your best for those 30 minutes then that's it. No replaying it....at least that's how I'm seeing it explained.

[Achievement List]

From what I've seen so far, this one's looking like much more than just a cash-in (obviously, that's part of it) - but looks like they've taken really good care with this one.

Played an hour or so of it so far and it's great, the move to over the shoulder combat like Resi 4 onwards is a good one and it looks fantastic.  Some speedrunner has already done the game in less than 3 hours without getting hit, don't think i'll be trying that!
