Alan Wake's American Nightmare
« on: December 08, 2011, 07:01:23 AM »
Alan Wake's American Nightmare spotted
New name for XBLA Night Springs?

The German video games rating board has leaked the title of a new Alan Wake game: Alan Wake's American Nightmare.

It's listed as an action-adventure game for the Xbox 360 and received a 16+ rating, reports Siliconera.

Is American Nightmare the upcoming Alan Wake game for Xbox Live Arcade?

Several previous reports had the title pegged as Alan Wake's Night Springs, suggesting a link to the paranormal television show penned by titular character Wake.

Has the title changed everywhere, or is this merely a European-only name change? We don't have long to wait and find out - the game gets a full reveal at the Spike VGAs this weekend.

Whatever it's called, the new Alan Wake has a "pretty damn impressive storyline that expands the original in some interesting ways," developer Remedy previously insisted, defending the decision to downsize the next entry in the series to a downloadable release.

I really want to look forward to this, but I had such a hard time getting into Alan Wake that I sent it back waaaay before completion. Shame, looked amazing in idea form.

I used to hate XBLA. Now I'm always keeping an eye out for good games, just can't afford to GET them all. We should make a list of favourite/recommended XBLA games.

Me too, mine is typically still wrapped, even bought all the DLC when it was super cheap last Christmas!

Double header, Play the first and then this not a bad prospect. The original is super cheap now as well.
Another one to watch out for.

American Nightmare lasts 4-5 hours

not bad for a £10 game, if that was £40 does it mean it would last 16-20hours. Hefty.

Played through the original game a few weeks back, highly reccommended, even if it's more action than horror. Still have to work through the DLC, but this is now a 'must buy' for my collection.

Cool, it will be released 22 February (1200 M$ points - according to major nelson's blog). I'm definitely saving some points (cant wait to buy Simpsons arcade too, lol).

I've got the original game voucher for U$10,00 some months ago in e-starland.com, such a bargain :))

I've read a lot of reviews saying Alan Wake is the most creative game for this generation, and its makes sense: using light as the main role to play the game is kinda creepy, we'll always have some fear of the dark due to natural evolution...

Its not so much the dark that scares me, its the evil monsters hiding in it that'll get ya!!  I used to check behind every door on my way to bed after a scary movie.  The omen freaked me out when I was younger!!
