Funny thing is,I'm just not excited about this release. I know it's weird, but just not bothered. I'll get it but when I'm ready. Must be getting old? Or,getting bored of the Xbox?
Hmmmm,is it me?

Saw this on Amazon yesterday, never buy new games there so not sure if this has happened with other big releases.

Grand Theft Auto V Makes $800m on Launch Day

Yes, you're sick of reading about Grand Theft Auto V now. We get it. But this is pretty incredible. GTA V might have cost a reported £170 million to make, but during its first day on sale, Rockstar's open-world epic has managed to generate over $800 million, making it Take-Two's largest ever sell-through launch.

"All of us at Take-Two are thrilled with the initial response to Grand Theft Auto V," Take-Two Chairman and CEO Strauss Zelnick commented. "Once again, the team at Rockstar Games have outdone themselves, setting the entertainment industry's new standard for creativity, innovation and excellence."

GTA V has also shifted a staggering 1.57 million units in the UK alone on launch day, making it the fastest selling game of all time in the region, generating £65 million in revenue across Xbox 360 and PS3. The previous record was held by Call of Duty: Black Ops, which shifted 1.41 million units and amassed $58 million in sales back in November 2010.

Maybe this'll get you into it.

Be forewarned though, the video below isn't entirely safe for work, and the voice work is a bit over-caffeinated for my taste, borderline obnoxious...but it's stuff to do.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-DLe9lbhXnc

Personally, I think this kind of stuff feels a bit foreign now in the GTA world, especially after having experienced what Saints Row has been doing (beginning with SR3). I'm not looking for absurd out of GTA at this point anymore, SR has more than fulfilled that need.

EDIT:
*Note: I'm sure there are more interesting things to do besides what's shown above, but I will withhold from commentary until I get around to GTA V...

A note for those who may be having an issue with the game running on older versions of the 360 console:

Went lazy-style and pulled this straight from the source:

Quote
It seems the launch week of a hotly anticipated game can't pass without a problem keeping some folks from playing. Several tips and complaints we've received, and a long forum thread backing them up, allude to a specific problem facing Grand Theft Auto V: the game appears to crash on older models of the Xbox 360.

This thread in gtaforums.com—which is not an official site—is full of users with something in common—Xbox 360 models manufactured (or refurbished) between 2006 and 2008.

"I've probably reinstalled the game about 10 times now," said one user. "I'm thinking it might be my 20GB HDD? After I installed the game I probably [have] a couple hundred MB left. Could it possibly be a problem that I don't have enough excess memory after the install?"

While hard drive size would seem to be an ideal culprit (the game has a mandatory 8GB installation, and older consoles typically have a 20GB hard drive) others say they run into freezing issues even with the larger capacity drives they bought for the machine.

"Same problem here. Xbox from 2006, original 20gb model, sent in for repairs in 2009 for RROD," said another user yesterday. "I bought a 250 gb hard drive for it, but otherwise it's the same console I've had for years. I can't play for more than 30 minutes without the game freezing on me, and I've tried every troubleshooting step I've seen here and on other websites."

He said he contacted Rockstar, got a form response advising him of steps to try and that he replied they didn't work. "I hope they find a fix for this problem soon, since the common denominator seems to be older Xbox 360's."

The freezes seem to happen early on—"the cut scenes after the first mission," said one persistent user, who said he tried 20 times to get to a check point only to have the game freeze up on him at random afterward. Another gamer with a 20GB Xbox 360 ("with no HDMI port") tried installing the discs to different locations (hard drive for disc one, USB for disc two and vice versa) and then not installing disc two, and still encountering freezes.

"20 gig 360 here. Having random freezing happening as well," says another user. "I've tried everything as far as installing with no success. Obviously the game is unplayable like this. Having a friend lend me a xbox, but this is ridiculous..."

I've reached out to a Rockstar representative to ask if the publisher is aware of any issue specifically affecting older models of the Xbox 360. If they reply (it's a weekend) I'll update this post with any response. This user, the one who originally opened the thread on gtaforums.com, said he was told by a Rockstar Support agent that "They are still in the process of gathering data and trying to determine if this is something that is patchable—at least that is what I was told."

One user said he contacted Xbox Live Support, which provided the following steps for addressing the issue. "It worked for me," he said.

1. Delete all GTAV game data.

2. Clear system cache three times.

3. Delete marketplace data from storage system items.

4. Unplug console for three minutes.

5. Install disc 1.

6. Power off, do not insert disc 2.

7. Restart.

8. Install disc 2.

9. Play.

While he did not encounter the freezing after three hours of play, another user said he still did after 30 minutes.

Rockstar's official troubleshooting statement asks users to delete all Grand Theft Auto V installation data, clear the Xbox 360's cache and re-attempt the installation. "If you are still experiencing the error, please try installing to a different memory device."

GTA Online will reportedly support 32 players, not 16
Report claims player count may have been doubled and online modes revealed

A new report claims that Grand Theft Auto Online's player count may have been increased from the previously confirmed 16 to 32.

While a Rockstar representative declined to comment on the matter when contacted by CVG this morning, Cinema Blend claims to have obtained the information ahead of GTA Online's October 1 launch by scouring through the network configuration settings for the Xbox 360 version of Grand Theft Auto 5.

According to the report, GTA Online will feature a "Freemode" supporting 1-32 players. Up to 32 players will also be supported across Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, Races, and Cops and Crooks modes, the site claims.

In CVG's first look Grand Theft Auto Online preview, we described the service as "a persistent online world with all GTA5's single-player features and more" including looting, co-op heists, deathmatches, races, gang attacks, crew vs crew playlists and sports. "Rockstar uses different language, but to all intents, it's GTA: the MMO Action RPG."

Released last Tuesday, Grand Theft Auto 5 has become the UK's fastest selling game ever, moving more copies in its first week than the total launch week sales of all previous series entries combined.

Launch week sales were 2.4 times greater than GTA4's and bettered the launch week of Call of Duty: Black Ops, the UK's previous record holder, by almost 250,000 copies.

More New GTA Online Details Released, Including Planned Updates

Rockstar's progressive ambition with online gaming has been really noteworthy. I think I probably tried a few online stints in GTA IV, and then way more with Red Dead. This might persuade some more exploration.

It's also refreshing to actually have Rockstar admit that there may be some 'glitches' with the process at an early going.

Really enjoying GTA 5, Looking forward to when it comes online, Not really played online games in a while.

My only gripe with GTA 5 is the Radio stations, Not enough good songs.

GTA Online Struggling as Fans Swamp Servers

It’s hardly surprising, but GTA Online is struggling to keep up with demand as droves of players attempt to fire up the multiplayer aspect of Rockstar’s latest.

Since it launched this morning, players have already reported a number of issues, most of which are related to swamped servers. I've seen a few whispers of corrupted or otherwise effed up single-player saves too, so be wary of that.

Rockstar expected as much, warning players last week that they anticipated problems as GTA Online lurched into life. You can beta test all you like, but there’s nothing quite like one of the fastest-selling games of all time bursting into action.

As you would imagine, Rockstar is looking into the reports and has set up a support page here to keep everyone up to date with the latest developments. Currently listed as known issues are:

Occasional "Rockstar Cloud Servers Unavailable" error message
Freezing sometimes while loading into first race in GTAO with "waiting for other players" on the screen
Intermittent "Failed to Host a GTA Online Session" error messages
Race Corona (start area, marker) occasionally not showing up for first race
