It looks stupid and I can't even see the picture but I bet its not as cool as Kinect ;)

It's Wii-HD, which I welcome.  If the Wii didn't look like a hot pixilated mess on my HDtv, I'd probably play it more often.

E3 2010: PS Move: Ball is 'crucial', Sony says
Why does that ball change colour so much? Sony explains...

PlayStation Move's colourful light "ball" is "crucial" for making the device work, Sony's told CVG.

Speaking to CVG's hitman at E3, EyeToy creator and SCE senior researcher, Richard Marks revealed some of the sorcery that goes on inside the PlayStation Move to make it so accurate.

It's all about the ball, apparently: "It's really, really crucial," Marks said. "It's crucial for many reasons because it's like a marker. We know exactly where it is. It's a light so it's really easy to find it and it can change colour."

Marks explained that the reason the device changes colour so often is so that it stands out from everything in your surrounding area. "So for example if you happen to have a bright pink wall behind you it'll change colour so it can be tracked better," he explained.

Clever stuff. "But how does it know?" we hear you type. "The PlayStation Eye looks at all the pixels," Marks continues. "It says 'Oh, there's a bunch of magenta pixels - don't use that colour, use a different one', and it picks a colour that won't conflict.

"We have full control over the light - there are 360 different hues it can track."

So there you have it, another piece in the magical mystery that is complete one-to-one movement.

E3 2010: Sony: 'We dont want Move in all PS3 games'
Some experiences are better suited to DualShock, says EyeToy creator

Sony doesn't want developers to "force" Move on games where it doesn't make sense, SCE senior researcher and EyeToy creator, Richard Marks told our man at E3.

When asked if he wanted to see every PS3 game from now on support Move, Marks said the motion controller's only one of multiple input devices supported by the platform holder.

He said: "I don't want that to happen. I love the Move but it's not the only controller on our platform. We have a great controller already - the DualShock - and some experiences are supposed to be used with that.

"A new set of experiences that use more special input - that's what's good for the Move. So I think our first-party will always continue to court both controllers."

He added: "I do not want to see somebody just force the Move on to a game that it doesn't make sense for."

Resi 5, Socom Move controls shown in video
See motion controls working smoothly in PS3 shooters

Below are a couple of IGN videos that show off the PlayStation Move controller working pretty nicely with Resident Evil 5: Gold Edition and Socom 4.

Both games use a similar control system, with the main Move unit handling aim which the Navigation controller (Sony's Nunchuk) does movement.

Resi 5 is already out and will receive a free title update when Move is released in September to support the controller. Socom 4 on the other hand has been purpose-built for Move, and will be out in autumn.

Move is coming to the EU on September 15, the US on September 19 and Japan on September 25. It will be $49.99 alone and an additional Navigation Controller will be $29.99. More pricing and bundle details here.

No game with the UK bundle, just a 9 game demo disc, typical Sony.

I'm not interested in Move so I guess it doesn't matter.   :)
