Slightly depressing. I think we could have the odd 'single thread' about Famous people, but maybe not every single person that dies ....

If the demand for an actual obituary on a gaming forum is high, i can't see why we can't do one though.

There is an awful lot of 'RIP' topics cluttering the forum.  I'll drop them all in here later today, if only for the purpose of cleaning up the forum.

On 2nd thought, I see how having a designated Obituary topic will get pretty depressing.  By this time next year, there will probably be dozens of pages of nothing but the news of people dying.

No disrespect to the dead, but that's probably a dark cloud a little too heavy for a gaming community.  Everyone is still welcome to post new topics for notable passings in the 'Odds & Ends' board, or related topics (ex. actors deaths in Movie News).  I'll leave that up to your own discretion.  But collecting dozens of pages about death is probably a bad idea in the long run.   :(

It's a good idea, fizz.  Just not for this site.

Just one thread title RIP and thats it.It would be kinda depressing alright, and notables only.No Bernie from down the road went onto the roof to get her cat, slipped and fell into the pool and drowned.

No Master Thread topic, sorry Windy and fizz. We discussed it on the Mod Forum (suprisingly maturely >_< ) and decided although the odd thread is fine, a stickied Master Thread is too much.

(see neato's above thread ;oP )

If it's a movie star we can post it in the movie news thread, sports star then put it in the football thread, musician then our soundtrack thread, the Queen then either the jokes thread or the about damn time thread :-) etc.  Saves cluttering the boards.

It's already been decided theres not going to be a Master Thread for these.

You should also refrain from posting unless you think it's debate worthy (Osama) or Gaming Related (ex.Hideo Kojima) but not if it's just gonna accrue a dozen 'RIP' replies.
