Black Ops double XP weekend extended
Get an extra day to level up as the game's Facebook page hits ten million fans

This weekend's Call of Duty: Black Ops double XP weekend has been extended from its usual Friday to Monday timeframe.

"To kick off [new map pack] Escalation's release, we're opening up another Double XP Weekend across all systems," developer Treyarch said.

"Additionally, in celebration of the Call of Duty: Black Ops Facebook page reaching 10 million fans, we'd like to show our thanks to everyone supporting us along the way by expanding the event's usual timeframe.

"Starting this Friday the 6th at 10am PDT, and extending to Tuesday the 10th at 10am PDT, you'll have plenty of time to rake in all the XP you could dream of. Whatever your goal, you've got 4 whole days to get there with twice the speed!"

The Escalation add-on landed on Xbox Live earlier this week. It features four new competitive multiplayer maps and a fresh Zombies level with new playable characters.

Black Ops Rezurrection DLC release date

The Black Ops Rezurrection DLC pack (yes, with a Z), launches on Xbox 360 first – on 23rd August. It will, as expected, cost 1200 Microsoft Points.

The map pack goes live on PC and PlayStation 3 by the end of September, Activision said.

The purely zombie affair features five maps. Four are remakes of the World at War Zombies maps Nacht der Untoten, Verruckt, Shi No Numa and Der Riese. These were included in the Hardened and Prestige editions of Black Ops.

The fifth map, Moon, takes the zombies into outer space. Rezurrection will include a special Moon Xbox 360 Dashboard theme and the official Zombies soundtrack, featuring three new tracks.

From 23rd August Hardened and Prestige edition owners can download Rezurrection for free. You'll be able to go into your Download History and re-download the classic pack you already own, and the fresh download will include the new Moon map. You'll also get the soundtrack and theme, too.

Moon looks awesome, even though i'm not a fan.

The wholse Z thing is a hint to the overarching story.... or something, not just a Z makes this cooler. like MarioKartz

I don't know if I grab this Rezurrection pack OR the Map Pack for GOW2. Probably I'll get both, but for now I have 1200 M$ points and I'll spend it very, very soon (kinda anxious guy O.o)...

Depends on how much you plan on playing Gears 2 after Gears 3 releases.

Personally, once I get my wings I'll probably on revisit Gears 2 for a few odd achievements.

Odd achievements? I'm confused, hasn't everybody got the full 1750 on Gears 2 by now?  :P

Thank god for the new Tomb Raider, helped me de-stress after a tough week! More of the same please

lol, no but I should have.  It wasn't until last month that I even bothered to look at my Gears 2 achievements.  Now I'm in a race to get as many as I can before Gears 3.

GoW2 Maps so close to GoW3 release, is that wise?

Not from my perspective, I know I may pick them up if they go on sale again...(maybe) - but I'm also betting on GoW3 releasing a grip of DLC (maps, etc.) soon after its release, somewhat nullifying the use for GoW2 DLC (especially with regards to MP).

Might pick up Dark Corners since there's an additional SP chapter, but it doesn't feel like it's essential to the mess of a story we've got going on with GoW. Final verdict = meh...

*note: If GoW 3 servers go ass up at launch, you may see players revert back to GoW 2, but otherwise expectations for GoW 2 online play feels somewhat limited.

Thank you guys for sharing your point of view...I really don't know if the zombie pack i'll worth, but I'm sure to get GOW3...these days I'm too busy/woried/tired to play a full section of gaming, just turn on the console, play 30 min of *anything* and thats it! Not a wise choise to buy these map pack right now...

I'll wait for any review of this Rezurrection pack, I'm really curious about that...
