I made a Yakov Smirnoff joke the other day.  The 20-year-old college student in the room stared at me blankly, but her dad laughed.

I felt old.   :-[

Capcom: Super Street Fighter IV will be the last Street Fighter IV

If your overactive imagination is already calling up fantasies of the next, next iteration of Street Fighter IV, you should reign that in right now. Producer Yoshinori Ono told Official Xbox Magazine (via CVG) he's "aware of the mistakes Capcom has made in the past" in relation to the numerous special editions past Street Fighter installments have received. He added, "Super Street Fighter IV should be the distinctive end" of the franchise's fourth chapter.

Capcom's not abandoning the title, though -- Ono said the company could ostensibly "upload a patch for Super Street Fighter IV 2011 edition that would have tuning and balancing." But as far as ever seeing Hyper Ultra Super Street Fighter 4: Turbo Tournament Edition EX: The New Challengers hit store shelves, Ono claims that "as a packaged product, I think this is the last."

I'm sure they'll add plenty of DLC

Anybody here have Super Street Fighter 4? I want to buy it, but not without knowing somebody else who has it to play with.

Also, sorry about the bump, but I NEED TO BE AN INFORMED CONSUMER!

I encourage bumps!

I love the Street Fighter franchise, more so than any other fighting game.  I will own SSFIV eventually, but since I didn't buy it on release it now falls under my "After I finish the games I own" list.  Loose translation:  Next year.   :(

BOO!

My usual fighter game buddy bought it on the PS3, leaving me in a lurch. I have such a craving to do some 2D fighting  :-[ .

I always have SSFIIHDR and MvsC2 on XBLA if you need a quick fix.  ... damn that was a lot of acronymosity

I have mvsc2. haven't tried multiplayer yet, wouldn't mind giving it a blast. SSFIV is on my rental list.

I wanted BattleFantasia as well, but Gamestop sent me on a wild goose chase to find it. I went to store after store as they told me that they didn't have it, and then would tell me to try over at some other place across town. It was not unlike Mario when he frees one of those douche Toads from their bag prisons while looking for Peach. The worst part? They wanted full price for the obscure and kind of old fighting game that nobody probably plays online anymore. Lameness.

Blazblue is kind of hard to recommend right now, what with the Continuum Shift expansion right around the corner. I'd wait it out.

I might pick up MvsC2, but 1200 MS points seems kind of steep for me. I'm probably going to break down and buy SSFIV and just play with random people online who will always play as Ken, Ryu, or Sagat and beat me mercilessly. And then probably call me gay.

The same thing used to happen to me all the time.  Then I discovered their website actually shows what's in stock at your local store(s).  Now I never go to GameStop without looking at their site first.  It has saved me many-a-trips.
