This is so hard..just ten
In no particular Order

1) American Psycho
2)Shawshank Redemption
3)Pulp Fiction
4)District 9
5)Fight Club
6)Heat
7)Things To Do In Denver When your Dead
8)Donnie Brasco
9)Batman the Movie 1969 (I think)
10) The Machinist
Can't wait for Shenmue 3

I hate jokes that rely on visual imagery.

I've had it right up to here with them.

Good stuff Tara, i especially love number 4, fokken great  ;D

totally forgot about Heat, fantastic movie, even though it's a remake of a TV movie that Michael Mann made previously (LA Takedown)
Things to do in Denver When You're Dead, also quality & cruelly overlooked by critics and fans.

This is hard. I just know I will forget some great films from my list.

1. Quadrophenia
2. Stand By Me
3. The Godfather
4. Scarface
5. Rocky
6. The Graduate
7. Scum
8. Nil By Mouth
9. The Breakfast Club
10. Jaws

Think I would need to list by film type.

Although I love Goodfellas, I do not rate it as highly as Scarface, And The Godfather is just the bible for mafia style films.

The Departed is the only remake of a foreign film to win an Academy Award for Best Picture, praise indeed.  The film keeps the structure and elements of the screenplay of Infernal Affairs but William Monahan, didn't even watch the original film while adapting its screenplay, thus enabling him to infuse the script with his, and Scorsese's, respective visions.

The Departed is an awesome movie but Infernal Affairs is still the stronger movie for me, but only just.

I hate it when Hong Kong & Japanese films are completely ruined by American film studios, Ringu, The Eye & Dark Water a big examples of this, 3 classic Far Eastern horrors turned into basically popcorn movies, disgrace.  There are loads more examples of this but i'll be here complaining all day, thank god Hollywood don't remake my favourite Chinese Kung Fu movies, i'd go postal if i heard that Bruckheimer wanted to remake Drunken Master or Police Story  :)

I'm a massive fan of eastern cinema so i'll never pretend the original was a lie  :D but i can see where you're coming from, but everytime i hear of a remake, even without seeing it, i get angry  :)
