Bruckheimer working on two new games
« on: April 14, 2010, 05:11:26 AM »
Hollywood mega-producer Jerry Bruckheimer has confirmed he's still up for producing games - stating that in fact, he's got two in the works right now.

It's been over two years since Jerry Bruckheimer Games Studio was established, and since then there have been no further announcements.

But according to Bruckheimer, it's all kicking off. "We're in the process of getting two games off the ground," he told Gamasutra. "We've started developing them. We've got two really talented executives working on them."

He could well mean Halo 3 exec producer Jim Veevaert and former Ubisoft man Jay Cohen, who joined the studio last May.

Don't expect any game announcements in the next few weeks, however - Bruckheimer's busy promoting the new Prince of Persia movie, which hits cinemas next month. So what's it all about?

"It's kind of a Shakespearean story we tell about these three brothers," he said. "One grew up on the streets and gets adopted by the king because in those days, when you had sons, they were inclined to assassinate the father to become king.

"By having this kid who could never be king in the palace, he was always protected. If the father died, they'd throw him out. That's the kind of Shakespearean part of our story."

A new videogame instalment in the series, Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands, is due to arrive on 21st May.

As long as he doesn't get the 'King of Style over Substance', Michael Bay involved, we'll be fine  ;D
