Is it possible to play split screen lan games on the Xbox?

Yes, as long as the game supports it.

Here's a wiki list to give you an idea.  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Xbox_360_System_Link_games

The game I was most curious about was MW2.  I has trying to setup a split screen on one xbox  with a third player on another xbox on the LAN.  Didn't seem to work.

I did notice playing 4 player split screen on MW3 on one xbox seemed to slow the game a bit.

We ended up playing black ops on the PS3 doing a lan party, 2 on one PS3 and one an another.  Unfortunately, I was playing with my youngest son, it didn't take long to figure out he looks at my screen:-)

lol

Back in my couch co-op days we called that "screenraping"... however you may not want to yell that at your son.   ;D

He's pretty good, loves to knife a person.  He got caught screen looking though when I topped some stairs and was face to face with him in a doorway, I got him cause he was busy looking at the wrong screen:-)

ha

My remedy was to memorize the map's pathways, and keep my camera facing the wall/floor as I walked.  However, once everyone started doing the same thing, every game was a stalemate.  lol

I'm just going to look for a third cheap copy (come on amazon put one on sale!) and we'll just play from out own TV's. It's the most I've played a free for all game since I used to duke nukem with my oldest boy on the PC a few years back, was a lot of fun.  Only problem is it shows me how much better they are than me:-)
