LEGO The Hobbit Video Game Rumoured For 2014

Leaked French promotional art reckons that a LEGO The Hobbit video game is a thing and it's coming in 2014.

The image comes from the back of instruction booklets that will ship with LEGO The Hobbit playsets due to release next year, according to reports from LEGO fansite TheBrickFan.

You can see a LEGO-ised version of Bilbo Baggins, Thorin Oakenshield and Gandalf the Grey in the picture below, which also states the game is coming in 2014 for Xbox 360. One would assume that an Xbox One version is likely too.

The Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug is due to hit cinemas soon, while the final Hobbit movie is due to released on 17th December, 2014. Presumably, the LEGO The Hobbit video game will launch around the same time.

LEGO The Hobbit Officially Announced With Screens

That leaked bit of promotional artwork from last week was completely legitimate, as Warner Bros. has today officially announced LEGO The Hobbit, another instalment in TT Games' lovable LEGO video game series, this time based upon Peter Jackson's The Hobbit Trilogy, continuing in cinemas on December 13th, 2013 with The Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug.

LEGO The Hobbit will follow the story of the first two movies, having you complete quests in Middle-earth as characters including Bilbo Baggins, Gandalf the Grey, Thorin Oakenshield and his posse of dwarves; Fíli, Kíli, Óin, Glóin, Dwalin, Balin Bifur, Bofur, Bombur, Dori, Nori and Ori. Your journey will take you through a variety of locations on the way to the Dwarven Kingdom of Erebor.

Other Middle-earth locations include  Bag End, Bilbo’s Hobbit-hole in Hobbiton, the treacherous High Pass over The Misty Mountains, and the dark depths of Goblin-town, Mirkwood and Rivendell. Promising puzzles, gem mining, loot, crafting, Treasure Quests, battles with Orcs, Trolls and other foul creatures, LEGO The Hobbit will be coming to Xbox 360 and Xbox One in spring 2014.
