January seems to be one of the busy times of the year when new anime sprouts. Only a week ago, we were discussing Rio: Rainbow Gate and everything above it is a newer release .... crazy.

Hourou Musuko
Fractale
Neon Genesis Evangelion: The End of Evangelion
Dragon Crisis!
Level E
Kore wa Zombie Desu ka?
Wolverine
Beelzebub
Onii-chan no Koto nanka Zenzen Suki Janain Dakara ne!!
Mitsudomoe Zouryouchuu!
Bungaku Shoujo: Kyou no Oyatsu - Hatsukoi
Freezing
Cardfight!! Vanguard
Bungaku Shoujo
Bungaku Shoujo Memoire
Gosick
Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica
Yumekui Merry
IS: Infinite Stratos
Kimi ni Todoke 2nd Season
Rio: Rainbow Gate!

Rio turned out to be a bit pants, but if i spot anything good i will let you know. A couple sound good and one has Zombie in the title so we will see.

Any reccomendations of anime similar to Ghost in the Shell? I seem to be on a massive GitS bender lately and I need more cyberpunk : D

There isn't that much Cyberpunk Anime tbh, same as Steampunk ... although Serial Experiments Lain is highly recommended, although i've never seen it myself.

I'd have said Cowboy Bebop .. whilst not cyberpunk it is futuristic, adult and tinged with comedy.

Cowboy Bebop is one of my favourites. I only got around to watching it recently, but it really is great. It reminds me a lot of Firefly so that definitely helped it's credibility.
I'll give Serial Experiments Lain a  look, hopefully on wednesday morning when I get proper internet access back again.
60GB a month download limit is nowhere near enough, I gotta get that upgraded sometime in the near future.

Bebop's been an all-time favorite for me as well - Lain was also good, although a bit less action-driven.

You might look to try Outlaw Star - it's a bit like Cowboy Bebop, with more Grappling Ship action, it gets pretty crazy towards the end too. I'd also recommend  Appleseed if you haven't seen it.

I'l give Outlaw Star a look aswell when I get a chance.
Is Appleseed the one that's all CGI? I think I saw a movie of it once and the CGI animation style really put me off and I couldn't watch after the first 10 minutes or so. If the series itself isn't in that style though I may well give that a try too. Thanks guys.

yes Outlaw Star was very good too!

Your probably after the 'Seinen' sub-genre, with a touch of sci-fi and maybe mecha .... all the things GiTS is;

Infinite Stratos
Blue Submarine 6
Blue Gender
Samurai 7

there are loads others, but you'd have to look yourself. Appleseed is an old anime movie that was redone in 2005 in CG Art (something more akin to GiTS 2)

I don't know what Seinen is or means, but sounds good, the more like it the better :D

I liked Appleseed (2004) and it's sequel Appleseed Ex Machina (2007).  They are CGI.

There was an earlier movie (non-CGI) in 1988 based on the original manga.  I've never seen it.  The later movies aren't directly related.

Appleseed Ex-Machina. That's the one I saw. It was probably really good, but as I said, I couldn't get into the animation style. Not the CGI itself, just the way the CGI was done.

I found a good torrent for SEL so hopefully I'l have a couple episodes finished downloading for tomorrow morning. Thanks for the reccomendations.

If I stream, I have to watch stuff on my laptop, which I hate. Plus I'm a bit of a hoarder, if I like something, I'll burn it to DVD and watch it again at some point. And with most stuff, not anime, my family wants to watch the movies/tv that I download aswell, and none of them knows how to use a computer, but they can use a DVD player, just barely.

My download speeds on my computer seem to be ridiculously slow lately so I haven't been able to watch any of those anime yet (I have the first few episodes of each at about 70% so far) so I rented GitS 2.0 from the XBL marketplace to tide me over. Hopefully it was worth a fiver.
