The old standby solution to all game glitches I encounter:

1.  If the game is installed on my HDD, delete the game (4-8GB file)
2.  Clear HDD cache.
3.  Start game from disc and install latest update when prompted.
4.  Exit back to Dashboard and reinstall disc.

This method has remedied a lot of games for me (Oblivion, Left 4 Dead, Splinter Cell, etc.).

Another possible solution:

I had my sound cut out at one point. I went into the menu and changed it over to Home cinema then back to war tapes and it worked just fine.

I will try those Neato, thanks for your time but i am pretty convinced it may be my xbox. Its a 3+ year old arcade and after friday night when it kept freezing up on gears 2 i think its dying. I will try this game on my dads xbox which is only 5 months old just to prove the theory. What do you think, worth trying?

Does anyone know how I can get the code that came with the game, I brought a pre-owned copy and it now seems that I can't play a whole lot of maps.
