The January Roundup

After the fun and excess of a heady Holiday Season, it was nice to get down to some serious gaming. Who knows if it's the lack of money that keeps people in and playing games in January, but whatever it is, we had a great turn out for all our game nights. The start of the year had everyones yearly gaming resolutions involving buying less games. Well that lasted long, didn't it people?

What do the Mods get up to in January, absolutely nothing it seems. We got a new Moderator, Lukehi. Who does all the work and brings us tea, we're changing his name to Gopher! He found some great giveaways to join and NinjaAsylum actually won something, proving once that we aren't cursed. neato (or Cogzy) continues to take over the free world with his army of pigeons and claim he is 'working'. Craig has been fighting off the French with his patented Cat Cannon! whilst posting more news than anyone can possibly spam a reply to. Failed, king of all gaming heaven has made the magic happen, see below for a small round up.

So have a mooch and post your favourite monthly moments and general spam!!

GAME NIGHTS
We started the year by making a few people jealous by shouting at randoms on Hydro Thunder. Other Theme nights included the bane of Dfuzz, a night of MvC2 where he remained totally beaten! An awesome L4D2 night with plenty of fun and lots of people getting lost, even though the game is 2 years old.

Friday nights were bigger and better, Gears 2, RDR and BC2 all getting huge turnouts and plenty of love. Halo: Reach getting a lot of support, it will really become a staple of our Friday nights. Big turnouts and plenty of variation and fun. Arkade will be super happy that there will be more people for him to shoot and shakes to give everyone a lesson in the double melee bop.

Two big additions this month to our gaming calendar. Bargain Bin Bonus (BBB) is Sambo's baby and it's good, The Darkness was our first winner. Completely laggy, it would randomly drop people after every game and yet somehow was so fast and fun that we all forgot it's massive flaws to have a great night of universal bargain love.

The second addition is our North American Night (NAN). The American invasion continues and 2 fortnightly events of Gears 2, that acquired us 3 new faces and Halo: Reach which had the biggest turnout of the month really made this new calendar event a great night. So expect to see more of this in the future!

NEW MEMBERS
NODAK, Hurricane, NinjaB, DSSDevil and Despizer.
If you havn't said hello you know where the Welcome Forums are, so get at it, add them as friends and shoot each other in the face ... it's the friendly thng todo!

GAME NIGHT STATS
11 Different game nights with 85 players. Of those 85 players there were 29 different names involved!
It's good to see so many people making an effort and nice to see not only lots of new faces but lots of old faces!

The Big names and their total appearances were; Dfuzz(7), JT(7) and Kini(6)

A great night makes the Mods happy, we're happy, we do more work and your happy. Lets have another great month in Febuary, with another big turnout and more members, more love and more shooting in the face. Remember it's the friendly thing todo! ;)

love Failed, Neato, Craig and Luke

This is great to see...11 sessions during the month, big thanks to Failed for hosting the majority of those.  Its good to note an increase in the number of new members becoming more active in the game nights - it must mean the community is doing something right... ;)

It's a fantastic start to the year here's to a successful 2011... :-*

ps.  you missed off DC's soap-opera return to the fray after months in the wilderness...with child... :o

That's true.  However, we still have several months before the little devil begins to reign his terror upon our world.  We'll toss in a mention next month, along with any other bits missed.
