Still, the biggest drawbacks of this system are two...IMO.

One - (this one's personal, so may not apply across the board) too many games in the backlog that I can't see burning through to even look at what's in their Game Pass library...

Two - the way things get pulled and pushed off the Game Pass library (while I get that it's a model that Netflix has used) doesn't make it as reliable as it should be. I imagine putting hours upon hours into Fallout 4, only to have it dropped while in the middle of questing through the world. With Netflix it sucks, but it's more manageable, they give you a bit of a warning (if you look for it) and the investment, unless it's a series, is usually a few hours for a movie getting dumped. With gaming it feels a lot less worthwhile. Why play anything that requires any degree of time investment when you've got the fear of having it pulled away right from under you..? If it turns out the answer is just to play shorter games, good luck finding those gems.

If they can sort that second issue...maybe the move to digital only would seem to make more sense. At this point Game Pass seems to be the gateway drug to getting people to stop looking for physical copies of games. Anyway, just IMO currently.   ;)

They give you a few weeks notice for games that are leaving instead of just pulling them at random times at least, though they did pull F1 2015 without warning a few months ago but I think that's because they added F1 2018 that same week.

New games coming soon:

Resident Evil Revelations
Rare Replay
Goat Simulator

New Xbox Update Adds A Neat Feature to Xbox Game Pass

The latest Xbox update brings a neat feature that will help players queue up their next Xbox Game Pass games, and a bunch of new commands for Alexa including pairing your controller remotely. Alexa's Xbox Skill also gets support in additional territories.

The new feature for Xbox Game Pass is "Play Later", which bascially works like "My List" in Netflix. If there's something you know you want to play but not right now, you can make a list and scroll through it next time you're wondering what to play next.

Meanwhile, if you have an Alexa supported device, you can use the Xbox Skill to ask Alexa what's new on Xbox Game Pass, as well as asking Alexa who among your friends is online and what they are playing. Finally, you can ask Alexa to ask your Xbox to pair your controller, so you don't have to stagger back out of your chair and hit the physical button on the console when you realise your controller isn't paired. You can check out all of the Xbox Skills for Alexa here. Alexa's Xbox Skill support has been expanded to Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Mexico, and Spain, and you can learn how to set it up here.

The July Update for Xbox One has already started rolling out — if your box doesn't prompt you for an update now, it probably will soon.
