Hi All,
I'm hosting a training day for MumseyFish gamer tag (PSN: MumseyFish
XBL: Mumsey Fish, Squishary) to get her into FPS or TPS. It's be private matches not open to the entire net just so she's comfortable with the game dynamics.
Here's the list of the games she can play:
Gears of War 3
MW2
Brink
Black Ops
Any Halo game.
It's all about fun so she can test her skills out or develop skills rather at these games. The time will be in EST and primarily later at night after the kids are asleep. Date and time will be determined later on.
Please let me know if you'd like to participate and which game you'd like to use.
Remember it's a Mumsey Training Day so tips and ticks are welcomed.
Cheers,
Dwain

Sign me up for any below. :D
Gears of War 3
MW2
Halo: Reach
Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary
I'm pretty good with Gears and Halo. I'm useless in all Call of Duty games, so Mumsey can feel free to use me as target practice. ;)
Monday and Wednesday after 5pm EST would work best for me right now, but I'll try to make another time work if needed.
-
I might be up for this depending on the date and time.
-
I'd be willing to help Ms Mumsey out with some Halo stuff. Reach or Halo 3. Just let me know when.
-
Thank you so much everyone. This sounds like it's going to be fun. Can't wait to make a fool of myself! lol
Dwain, let's try to schedule a time when Dankinia can make it.
-
Not played Gears 3 since I re-upped again a month or so ago but i'm up for that if you end up playing it. :)
-
If you need some more friendly competition for MW2, BlOps, and/or Reach let me know. I've only played MW2 & BlOps longs enough to test the discs, so I'll be easy meat. ;)
-
I'm game for some Gears 3 or Halo: Reach (since it's the only two on Mumsey's list I have currently). If for nothing else, at least to hear Mumsey go all:

on the rest of us by the end of her own Training Day. ;)

Thank you all for being willing to participate!
I think we have enough people to start. But more are more than welcome to join, especially if you're a newbie and want to learn.
I personally only have experience playing online with Halo and COD games. I have yet to try Gears but I'm willing to learn that too!
I'm think we'll need a few starter nights so Mumsey can try her skills at a few different games.
Based on what everyone's saying I think we should start out like this:
Halo --> Gears --> COD
Console of choice XBOX. Is everyone ok with this selection?
Now the hard part getting everyone time and date set.
For me I can do the following times:
Weekdays anytime after 830pm to 11 pm EST
Weekends Sunday from mid day to 10pm EST
All of these need wifey's pending approval if we don't have prior engagements.
I'm proposing the following sessions:
1. Lets see if we can get our first session Wed Aug/15/2012 8:30pm to 10pm.
2. Mon Aug/20/2012, Tue Aug/21/2012, Wed Aug/22/2012 8:30pm to 10pm.
Days that are definite write offs due to prior engagements for me are:
-Fri/17/Aug/2012 through Sun/19/Aug/2012
-Thu/23/Aug/2012 to Sun/26/Aug/2012
Let me know what everyone thinks.
I also have the option to record the events (I think I haven't tried my new laptop and capture device yet) so we can use it at a training vid or just for laughs!
I'm hyped for this Mumsey are you ready?
-
I might just be able to make those hours! I'll see how it goes, it's early morning for me here by 8pm your time. If I'm about I'll hop in. Any of the mentioned games are good for me, haven't dusted Halo off in AGES as I keep saying so up for that.
-
I'm ready! Wednesday Aug, 15 is good for me since I'm on vacation this week and next.
Just a reminder to everyone ....I will be in Scotland from Sept 15 to Sept 30! I will have access to an xbox, but no idea if I can log on with my account. (I will bring my memory thingy with my account on it to try) and no idea what games are available (I can't bring games from here because they're formatted differently).
Not to mention that I'll be going around all over Scotland/England so who knows how much time I'll have to actually play. (It won't be a priority obviously) But again, if anyone over there wants to get together for a drink let me know. Would be great to actually meet. :)
But back to the original conversation....see you all tomorrow! ;D
-
I'm going to try to make this tomorrow (Wednesday the 15th) I work until 9pm est so I'll be late for the fun though.
-
You all will have to start without me I won't be able to log on until 9pm est.
Remember tonight it's Halo Reach! I've got Halo (all) so if anyone wants another vs Reach as long as we have it i'm game.
-
I'm going out to dinner with some friends tonight, but if I'm back by 9pm EST I'll be online. :)
-
Sooooo......why don't we just start at 9ish? I'm okay with that.
-
I'm game for that time. Everyone please add MumseyFish to your friends list.
-
My dinner plans have been pushed to 8pm EST, so I won't be home until at least 10pm.
If I'm not too tired, I'll hop online for 30-60 minutes. If I'm out later than expected, I'll see you all for Mumsey Training Round 2. :)
-
I'll be there if I'm awake! Just got home from a long day (fun stuff, but exhausting) so already feeling the pull of the bed, but if I'm conscious I'm in. And a duly handicapped opponent who will be half asleep and unable to aim for shizzle = great target practice?! ;)
-
Will try to make it - my only problem is that of being on the West Coast US - so my timepiece lags behind most everyone here. Neato's 10pm is my 7pm, which is about the time I'm just getting finished up with work during the week.

Take a nap! Haha Why do you think I'm always up so late (early for all you people on the other side of the pond). I take naps during the day and then can't sleep at night.
Hey! Don't judge! I'm old! I'm allowed to nap! ;)

Zero, your time is the most awkward time of all.
Hmmm.....I wish there was a way to do this so that EVERYONE could get here.
Any ideas? I'm pretty flexible with time most days, including staying up later since I don't work mornings most days. Shhhhhh.....plus I take naps ;D
-
Sooooo......why don't we just start at 9ish? I'm okay with that.
I'll be there at 8:30pm EST...wondering where everyone else is :P

lol You can't say you don't know where everyone is now that you've quoted the "let's start at 9ish" sentence Kade! It doesn't work that way! :o

Training for Mumsey is a success!
This is what I learned: Which buttons do what, how to hide, that I need to move around and jump a lot, and not to reload! Don't go out into the open yelling "I'm out of bullets!" And most importantly ....have fun. O0
-
Oh, and thank you to the following people for tonight's lesson:
Autarch Kade
Dankinia
dtrinib
and Sanitiy Warden
Most likely will be training in Gears of War 3 next for who ever wants to join in.
-
I've learned that getting stuck in traffic still sucks! :-\
Will try to make the next one. I've got Gears 3 so will sign up, pending the time(s). Glad to see you to some quality learning done though.
-
I'd say Yes it was a success! Mumsey was laughing so hard. Ps Kade is a beast! Next step would be to try our hand as a team with online players!
-
I've created another post for named Training Day 2 Mumsey aka Squishary. Please sign up for Gears there.
-
Ps Kade is a beast!
