Warner Bros has confirmed Robin as a downlodable character for Batman: Arkham City, and released a stylish noir render to boot. Rocksteady's Boy Wonder is a far cry from his campy TV show self, boasting fat arm guards and a mean-looking staff.

Besides Robin himself, the pack contains two new Challenge levels, Blask Mask Hideout and Freight Escape, and a Red Robin character skin. Batman's favourite sidekick is also playable on the rest of Arkham City's Challenge maps, and has "his own unique gadgets and special moves".

I respect Rocksteady enough to reserve judgement until I see Robin in action.  But at first glance, I don't like it.

If they were going to do Robin, I would have thought they'd go with the Batman-minus-cowl look.

Would have definitely made it easier to code him into the game.  Just give Batman a differnet skin, and scale his size down a little.  This new look kind of makes him look like an asshole teenager, but maybe that's what they're going for?

Tempting.  If I didn't already own Gotham Knight I'd probably bite.  That statue looks pretty awesome, but considering my closet full of Master Chief helmets and giant Batarangs, I think I'll pass.

Talia al Ghul confirmed for Arkham City

Anti-heroine Talia al Ghul is the latest character announced for Batman: Arkham City.

The daughter of crime boss Ra's al Ghul and Batman's occasional love interest in the comics will be voiced by Stana Katic, star of US TV series Castle.

"Talia is such a complex character and it was great to voice her in Batman: Arkham City," commented Katic. "I was amazed at all the detail put into the project and it’s great to see how excited the fans are about the game."

The follow-up to Rocksteady's acclaimed Batman: Arkham Asylum is starting to look rather crowded. The Joker, The Riddler, Catwoman, Robin, Mr Freeze, Poison Ivy, Harley Quinn, The Penguin, Two Face, Hugo Strange, Victor Zsasz, Calendar Man and Black Mask are all confirmed to appear in some capacity.

Nice.  Stana Katic is a fantastic choice for Talia.  Hell, she'd be great live-action as well.

I'm wondering how all this is going to be handled, great news to hear throughout, I'm just hoping that some of these are used as "touches" at this point and don't hamper the flow of things or nix ideas for possible future releases.

I think it's safe to presume Calendar Man will be a brief comic-relief cameo.   ;)

Bane fights with Batman in Arkham City

An AI-controlled Bane will fight alongside Batman in Arkham City, Warner has announced.

Bane teams up with Batman during a series of sub missions that involve tracking down shipments of chemical contraband, Go Nintendo reports. Bane is not playable.

Bane joins anti-heroine Talia al Ghul on the game's expanding cast.

During a Comic-Con panel developer Rocksteady revealed a new gadget for Batman, a Remote Electrical Charge (REC). It shoots an instant spark that knocks enemies back or electrocutes armour-wearing enemies.

Meanwhile, the panel revealed that the game includes around four hours of Catwoman gameplay.
