Borderlands 2 will soon be updated with a more sensible notion in mind:

Quote
There are three recognized types of CVD. Deuteranomaly or deuteranopia (a red-green colorblindness) is the most common. 7% of males and 0.5% of females have it. Deuteranopes have either defective or missing M-cones, so they have problems seeing green. Protanomaly or protanopia (a different red-green colorblindness) is more rare. 2% of males and 0.05% of females have it. Protanopes have either defective or missing L-cones, so they have problems seeing red. Tritanomaly or tritanopia (commonly referred to as blue-yellow colorblindness) is the most rare. Less than 1% of people have it. Tritanopes have either missing or defective S-cones, so they have problems seeing blue. The difference between the “nomaly” type and the “nopia” type is that in the “nomaly” case, the cone is present but not functioning properly. In the “nopia” case, the cone is completely missing. People who are of the “nomaly” type may be only partially colorblind. They may be able to detect more intense shades of a color, but have difficulty when the color is less saturated.

Expected adjustments to the color space:

Additionally, Gearbox will be adding labels to loot drops in order to assist:

This might be a little late in the game's life cycle, but I'm sure it's a welcome feature for those who experience trouble with color-spaces.

Okay...so here's a bit of rumored "whuutz????" kinda news...

Accroding to [TA] - a brief posting appeared on Steam (before being pulled down) detailing a new DLC for Borderlands 2 -

Description:
Return to the award winning shooter-looter for a new adventure that sets the stage for the upcoming Borderlands 3. Sanctuary is under siege, the Vault's map has been stolen and a toxic gas is poisoning Pandora. Fight new bosses, explore new zones, get new loot (including an entirely new tier beyond Legendary) and join up with Lilith and the Crimson Raiders to take on a deranged villain hell-bent on ruling the planet

TA points out that according to the posting, the DLC would be released in just three days time on June 9th and would raise the level cap to level 80, while any new player will instantly be leveled up to level 30 so they can immediately play the DLC. This will prepare players for helping Lilith and the Crimson Raiders defend Sanctuary.

*Note: Just for the record - this update is not available for the 360 version of BL2, only for Xbox One and PS4 versions and to be more precise it only applies to The Handsome Collection.
