I hope it doesn't involve 360voice, because the Mega Challenge will run from 25th Nov to the 24th Dec. If it doesn't, i will be on that putting up about 20,000G. If it does involve 360voice, i probably will not be involved. As the Mega Challenge will have prizes and another 400-500 people to compete against. Sorry chips.

I have some Savage Grenadier Elite Codes for prizes though and maybe some Borderlands DLC and some month LIVE codes, i'll have a mooch in my DLC stack for some good prizes.
Title: Re: Holiday Achievement Challenge
Post by: nCogNeato on November 11, 2011, 11:07:33 AM
It will be through 360voice, which means if you're already participating in one challange, you can't participate in another.

However, your chances of winning a prize in our Holiday Achievement Challenge is probably a lot greater than winning in the 360voice's Xmas Mega Challenge.   ;)

After much thinking (at least 30 seconds) I've decided I might just hop on board for this! Expecting to have burned through some of the new games (next week's releases) before it starts though, but still - sounds like fun!

Equally up for a little "for laughs" pre-challenge challenge as mentioned elsewhere ;)

I love challenges. Not going to say I'm any GOOD at them, but I love them none the less.

Joined up (challenge and group) and just so happens, I have some games dropping in soon. Not sure if soon enough for the "pre-challenge, challenge..." but I may use that go over older games whose achivements have been alluding me.

Avatar for me! Probably not going to be my starting game though, I'm now hooked on finishing Modern Warfare 1 + 2. I've suddenly noticed how many of my games I probably COULD get the full 1000g from and haven't yet. Only two full completions right now. Feels wasteful :D

I've still got two DLC packs for Fallout 3 to finish.  I think I'll start with that this weekend.  I'm also considering borrowing Skyrim from my nephew so I might manage a few acheivements in that.  I still plan to take last in this challenge, but I'm determined to at least get one acheivement this month.   ;)

You can get the DLC for Fallout 3 through Lovefilm in the UK. Something I always intended to do, since.. rent, install, send back - sounded appealing. :D

If anyone wants to do the Fallout 3 dlc I'd be happy to pass the disc around, eventually returning to me when everyone has it installed and passed on. Be a while before I go back for a last playthrough to get the last 200 or so points. Or if anyone wants both discs I'd be down with that.

I know there's a huge argument against Fallout having multiplayer, but I really wish it did. In the same fashion that RDR has it - large, open scale multiplayer free roam. The campaign, sure, makes more sense if you're solo - though games these days work in separate co-op campaigns really well so, who knows. Here's hoping for the next instalment, anyway!

Post by: Windedprism on November 25, 2011, 08:28:15 PM
I'll tell ya right now there will no mp aspect in Fallout 4, there can't be. How do you pull it off? Maybe after Bethesda let Interplay run with Fallout Online, in the future they may bring their own mmorpg for Fallout and TES but the singleplayer is essential to the experience. Even mmorpgs aren't as personal and that's what brings the epicness, at least for me anyway. How do you deliver a story and experience where another player has an influence over events and make each player's experience ''full''. Very grey area that one. Mass Effect 3 takes the approach of co-op moving outside of each players 'Sheppard' and letting each one choose different races from the galaxies to adventure with and then there is a roll on affect back into the singleplayer experience. So that maybe a god way forward we'll see.

But alas singleplayer must always remain at the front of these kind of ''open world'' rpgs otherwise  if not done right the experience is broken.
Multiplayer is great/fantastic but singleplayer will always be around.

Make sense? this should be another thread :)

I would never have played Eragon if not for this challenge, under the silly assumption it would be for cheapz achievo points.

It wasn't. Probably spent a good 12+ hours on it. But actually really enjoyed it too, sadly. More than the movie, haha.

The whole challenge has rekindled my want to get more 100% completed games though.

I'm rather pleased with my efforts now, over 700 points which considering I thought I wouldn't manage 200 is quite good. I'm hoping i may be able to reach 1000 by the end of the competition :)

I'm having a blinder this week.  Should be up to 12 when the board gets updated.

Haven't got enough whore in me to reach the top 10 though... ;)

i've lost incentive, no one keeping me honest, had a few days off now watching movies and sleeping after a few mad weeks in work. Gonna try for 20,000 just for kicks.

Brave, Bee Movie, Red Faction, Rango (if it ever turns up), Red Faction and a bunch of others. I have Up, Megamind and Truth or Lies but ima save them for another challenge.

Typically Lovefilm have sent me a couple of easy scorewhore games just as the challenge is coming to an end!
Should move up a place or two at least.   :)

Haha. I don't think I'm built for month long challenges. A week or two tops, can't put in the hours for achievement whoring. I tip my hat to failed, legend of the score-whorers.

Totally hooked on Battlefield atm, so little achievements to be gained from that! Fun though. I even have Avatar which is apparently an easy 1000g, just not interested enough to push for it. Amusingly, the game is actually pretty fun - was expecting it to be terrible.

7th place, not too shabby, all things considered. Managed to keep my GS free of many regrets too, save for Brink... >:(

Nice going guys, was fun! Bit too hardcore for me in the end, but definitely fun. I was up for more of these regularly, but now I'm understanding how much work they are, haha. Still, another one in the future!
