If you have any interest of playing Mass Effect 1, be sure to play it before playing Mass Effect 2.

The obvious reason is the whole gamesave transfer.  But more importantly, the combat mechanics of ME1 will frustrate you after experiencing the much-improved mechanics in ME2.

Same here, just ordered it though - should be arriving in a few days. Anyone know if there's any indication that ME2 will be released as a GOTY Edition?

Not been announced yet, but as the PS3 is getting ME2 in one complete package i would say its a safe bet there will be a GOTY edition as bioware have already done that with dragon age, ME2 is still my favourite game of this generation though its Awesome!!! and you can get it really cheap now  ;D

True, grabbed my copy for $10 this last week. How's the DLC for ME2? I downloaded the DLC for ME 1 and remember not being really amazed by it.

The ME2 DLC is great.  Far superior to ME1's.

The freebies are ... free ... so I don't mind them being bleh.  Overlord and Lair of the Shadow Broker are well worth the price of admission.

Rumour: Mass Effect 3 set for VGA reveal

Mass Effect 3 will be revealed at this weekend's Spike TV Video Game Awards show, Joystiq claims.

A "trusted source" reckons the teaser clip released last month, which depicts a sniper set within a war torn environment, is taken from Mass Effect 3.

The game is also rumoured to feature multiplayer. If true it would be a first for the series.

Joystiq's source backs up a claim made last month by Sony Computer Entertainment Europe Russia.

It said in a tweet that BioWare was preparing to unveil Mass Effect 3 at the VGAs. Boom.

BioWare has released cryptic clues for its as-yet-unannounced new title all month on its Facebook page. The truth will be revealed early Sunday morning UK time.

Now that looks good!!!

Looking forward to when this comes out.
Still looks like they've kept a few of the old enemies too......interesting.
