EA Access gives players access to triple-A games for $5 a month
£3.99 in the UK, only on Xbox One.

EA has announced a new service for Xbox One that will give subscribers access to multiple triple A games for $4.99 (about £3) a month - or $29.99 (about £18) a year.

Dubbed EA Access, this service is being rolled out today in a beta for a limited number of players. The beta will grant subscribers unlimited access to FIFA 14, Madden NFL 25, Peggle 2 and Battlefield 4 with more titles to come.

Additionally, EA Access members will receive 10 per cent off most EA games and DLC downloaded on Xbox One.

Another benefit to the service is that its members will be able to play trials of upcoming games up to five days prior to their launch. So far the list of games this will entail includes: Madden NFL 15, NHL 15, FIFA 15, NBA LIVE 15 and Dragon Age: Inquisition. Your progress from these trials will carry over into the full game upon release.

EA Access memberships will be available over Xbox Live or at retail via Amazon, GameStop and EB Games.

EA Access Only Available to XBox One Users

In vicarious Xbox One news, EA's new online service, apparently is not up to standards for PS users, according to Sony therefore it will not be made available, making EA Access now exclusive for Xbox One users.

"We evaluated the EA Access subscription offering and decided that it does not bring the kind of value PlayStation customers have come to expect," a Sony representative said to Game Informer. "PlayStation Plus memberships are up more than 200% since the launch of PlayStation 4, which shows that gamers are looking for memberships that offer a multitude of services, across various devices, for one low price. We don't think asking our fans to pay an additional $5 a month for this EA-specific program represents good value to the PlayStation gamer."

Don't have the XB1 yet, so I may not be fully qualified to comment, but I'm also being an old fart about having actual physical copies of games in my collection. Unless "unavailable" at retail, I try to get physical copies [Games With Gold] releases notwithstanding...

I totally agree, Would always rather have a physical copy. But this just seems like something every Xone owner should sign up for, I was really wondering if anyone knows of any catch.

The only catch I've been able to see is that the games would only be available as long as you've got an active subscription. So kinda like PS Plus does (if I'm remembering that right) - as long as you're an active subscriber you're good to go.

I really like this idea. This was the kind of thing I was imagining back when the Xbox One was first announced and everybody went nuts over the "always connected online and no trade-ins" stuff.

If they put Dragon Age Inquisition in The Vault or whatever they are calling it, I am there in a heartbeat.

Keep looking at getting this but the only game that interests me so far is BF4 which i've already played on 360 and rented FIFA 14 and NFS Rivals already so probably keep an eye on future games, defenitely worth it for those that haven't played any of them though.

Off topic, make sure you get Titanfall mate, it's quality.   :)

Battlefield Hardline on EA Access consists of 10-hour trial

Battlefield Hardline on EA Access will consist of a 10-hour trial, EA has revealed.
The trial will be available exclusively through the subscription service for Xbox One on March 12 - seven days before the game makes its European debut.

In addition to containing all multiplayer maps and modes, the trial allows users to experience the prologue and first chapter of Battlefield Hardline.

EA Access Vault Adds Madden NFL 15 as Its Next Freebie.

Xbox One owners with an Access subscription can now play the latest Madden game for free. Not long after NBA Live 15 was added to the EA Access Vault, Electronic Arts today announced another addition: Madden NFL 15.

Madden 15 marks the ninth game in the Vault, joining the aforementioned Live 15, EA Sports UFC, Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare, Peggle 2, Battlefield 4, FIFA 14, Madden NFL 25, and Need for Speed Rivals. It's the latest game in the Madden franchise, having been released last August with a renewed focus on defense. It went on to become the second-best-selling physical game in the US in 2014.

Not something I would normally play but I won't complain. EA Access is really proving value for money.

On the periphery, been tempted by this - though I know it would mean adding exponentially to my backlog...and probably paying for it all the while - then more pressure with this announcement:

People who subscribe to EA Access or Origin Access will be able to play Mass Effect: Andromeda for up to 10 hours before the game launches, publisher Electronic Arts announced recently.

The trial will go live March 16, five days before Mass Effect: Andromeda’s March 21 release date. EA Access and Origin Access are available on Xbox One and Windows PC....seems PS4 owners are going to be left out of the loop on this one.

Somehow or another, I have all 3 mass effect games in my ready to download list. I did play the first one but couldn't get into it. Does anyone else have these? Or, is it because I have EA access?
Hmmmm,is it me?
