Monkey Island was boring.
I'll pass on Tour de France.
baboballs or whatever was pretty decent, like an old school top down shooter.
Ikaruga i purchased this week and it's a stunning game, a well executed and frantic scrolling shooter with a genuinely well worked gimmick. I might write a review when (sorry, IF) i finish it.
-
I had Ikaruga on Gamecube & it was fantastic, might have to get the Live Arcade version.
-
-
I love buying the 1/2 price weekly deals, but I cannot get into Ikaruga. I played the demo for about 10 minutes and it did not blow my skirt up.
-
R-Type Dimensions is Microsoft's Deal of the Week.
It'll have a 33% price-cut as it goes from 1200 Microsoft Points to 800.
-
R-Type was 1200MSP to begin with ... damn! I'd have got it for 400msp

FIFA 09's Ultimate Team is the current Deal of the Week.
The Ultimate Team DLC usually costs 800 Microsoft Points but for this week only, will cost 400 Microsoft Points.
If you want to know what it's all about, you can download the trial and get five games out of it before being booted back out to the main menu and having to buy the full thing.

I know you would all like to feel my fuse deep inside you!!

Maybe not, it'd be like waving a candle around wembley, you'd touch the sides but your gonna have to take a run up. I might extinguish it forever, the fuse will never be lit again.

Wallace and Gromit Episode 2: Last Resort and Sonic & Knuckles are tomorrow's Xbox Live Arcade releases.
Wallace and Gromit: Last Resort is the next episode in line following Wallace and Gromit: Fright of the Bumblebees. It's a puzzle adventure in the point and click mould (albeit without pointing and clicking) and will cost 800 Microsoft Points.
Meanwhile, Sonic & Knuckles isn't just a stand alone game but is backwards compatible with previous Sonic games, allowing you to run through Sonic 2 and Sonic 3 with Knuckles. Best of all, it will cost a mere 400 Microsoft Points. Bargain!
-
Yeh, guess you're right.
-
Has anyone on here bought a Game on Demand game yet?
-
Nope, and no intention to unless they drop in price to a fiver, in which case I may get NFS Most Wanted
-
-
Oh yeah, and Bioshock (hence the original post! DOH!)
-
Sonic wooooo. I might wait a bit and finish some other games first, although ... easy achieves!!

No! That's not true! That's impossible! :'(

Your score must have only been about 18k when you joined us and since then you've played Scene It!, Cars Mater-National (that's even easier than Cars). The first step to admitting you have a problem is having a problem to admit, which you have.

It's true, I can't deny it any longer.
Here goes....
*deep breath*
Hi, my name is Red and I'm a......... *come on Red, you can do this!*

Bubble Bobble is an update of the old retro platforming/puzzle classic and will cost 800 Microsoft Points.
C&C Commander's Challenge is based on the PC update to Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3 but it doesn't require the disc to play it, just download it and fire it up. It will also cost 800 Microsoft Points.
And don't forget Lode Runner will cost 800 Microsoft Points this week too.

-
Virtua Fighter is HARD. I played it for months to get 700 points, took up way too much of my time. With me turning more in to a score whore every day I'd have ditched it within a week these days!

Just swap it with Dark Master when he has finished it. I have sent it to him

South Park: Let's Go Tower Defense Play and Lucidity are tomorrow's Xbox Live Arcade releases.
South Park: Let's Go Tower Defense Play is a tower defence game (obviously) that is set in South Park (double obviously).
Lucidity is a curious title from LucasArts. It's billed as a puzzle platformer and it has a distinct art style.
Both games will cost 800 Microsoft Points. Point 'n click adventure Axel And Pixel has been confirmed as next Wednesday's Xbox Live Arcade release.

Certainly does, they showed the Emmy winning episode Margaritaville last week to get us in the mood.
-
Lucidity is brilliant, atmospheric, mesmerising and the music is hauntingly beautiful. It's also slow and boring.
South Park LGTDP! is a bit weird for a Tower Defense game as you get to be the characters and throw snowballs ... it's different, i want to not like it, but i got strangely addicted to it and played for about an hour last night.

Major Nelson has given word on tomorrow's Xbox Live Arcade releases.
They are NBA Unrivaled, Encleverment Experiment and 0D Beat Drop.
They've somewhat inevitably been sent to die, given it will be the day after Modern Warfare 2 is released, but 0D Beat Drop looks like it could warrant some attention - it's a block-dropping puzzle game that incorporates rhythm action and lets you use your own soundtrack too.
It will cost 800 Microsoft Points, as will Encleverment Experiment. NBA Unrivaled will cost 1200 Microsoft Points.

Saints Row 2, LEGO Indy Go Games On Demand
To help Americans celebrate Thanksgiving in a not-that-retro style, Microsoft will next Tuesday be offering two new games for download via their Games on Demand service.
The first will be Saints Row 2, only a few short months after the release of the first Saints Row on GoD. If you didn't get Saints Row 1, get this one, it's much better.
The second is LEGO Indiana Jones: The Original Adventures, which arrives just in time to undermine the release of LEGO Indy 2, what with the older game blessed with the absence of any Crystal Skull content.
And while they're being offered to celebrate Thanksgiving, those outside the US aren't being overlooked, as both titles will be available most other places on Earth as well.

Games on Demand adds Bolt & Trivial Pursuit
(http://www.blogcdn.com/xbox.joystiq.com/media/2009/12/goddph_120809.jpg)
One of the more convenient (and pricey) methods for games acquisition -- Microsoft's Games on Demand service -- has just added a pair of new titles to its North American library: Disney's Bolt and EA's Trivial Pursuit. Each can be yours for $19.99, granted you have the respective 5GB and 2GB of space for each. Prices and availability vary by region, but the insatiable, shameless desire for Achievements that would drive you to actually purchase these games is universal.

Gears of War now available via Xbox Live Games on Demand
(http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/12/gearsofwarheaderimg580px.jpg)
Put down that can of Imulsion energy drink, friend, 'cause we've got some good news for you (and we wouldn't want you to choke, you know). The original Gears of War has arrived on Xbox Live's Games on Demand service, making it that much easier to get ready for next year's big announcement from series creator Cliff Bleszinski (spoilers: it's probably Gears of War 3!).
For the usual $19.99, all 6GB of Marcus Fenix's Locust murder opus can be yours -- without all that pesky 'physical media' nonsense -- through the Xbox Live Marketplace (except in Japan, sorry!).

Fret Nice, Greed Corp and Lazy Raiders have been confirmed as tomorrow's Xbox Live Arcade releases.
Fret Nice (1200 MS Points) is the most interesting of the three, as it's a platformer that has been designed around the Guitar Hero/Rock Band guitar. It has already done the rounds on PlayStation3 to mediocre reviews, so we'll have to wait until tomorrow to see if 360 users take more kindly to it.
Lazy Raiders (800 MS Points) is the pick of the bunch while Greed Corp (800 MS Points) will also be made available.

it is tempting but i've just got an archeologist getup from playing lazy raiders, so i can't see me wearing anything else. I just need to unlock the hat first!

Free DLC is a brilliant marketing device, at least for me. After I discovered the above site, discovered there were a bunch of various downloads for the first Dead Rising. I didn't even like Dead Rising the first time I played it, but a few days later I bought it again.
Take note, gaming industry. Give Neato $5 worth of free DLC, and he'll buy a game he doesn't even like. ;D

I never understood the Geometry Wars craze. Personally, the game gives me a headache.

if it isn't i'll be getting;

I've played both demos and love them both. The others i might buy if the achievements are easy or if the demos really get me!

I got both of those games and will probably buy South Park and Geometry Wars 2 on Monday.

After Burner Climax and Puzzle Chronicles are tomorrow's Xbox Live Arcade releases.
While Puzzle Chronicles is a take on the popular Puzzle Quest formula, it's After Burner Climax that'll likely be getting most of the attention.
It's a port of the 2006 arcade game and it looks awesome, definitely one of the contenders for Live Arcade's best looking games to date. Both titles cost 800 Microsoft Points each.

Most of us are excited about the upcoming release of Limbo on XBLA this coming Wednesday but to increase the excitement even further did you know that the game has two unlockable avatar awards as well.
The first one and easiest to get is a white limbo shirt, unlocked for getting your first achievement.
The second and i imagine a lot harder to get is a limbo creature avatar pet, unlocked for completing the game.
This may just convince those of you who were on the fence to part with your Microsoft points, 1200 of em, rather than waiting for the inevitable deal of the week offer sometime in the future.
It's definitely convinced me anyway :)
-
The awards are a bonus, but i would have bought this anyway. This will be XBLA's GOTY, guaranteed!
-
Good shout Fusion...definitely getting this on launch, even though it's bound to be DotW before Christmas.

thank you and same here. There is a new site called avatar awards that lists most (if not all) games that are out, or about to come out, that have avatar awards and what they are. It's a brand new site so there are no tips on how to get the awards yet, but no doubt there will be soon

WORST REVIEW
80 from Eurogamer Italy
Despite its high price and its short length (1200 MS Points for approximately 4 hours, with very little re-playability, is not exactly the deal of the year!) Limbo is still a thrilling, breathtaking experience: simply let the darkness surround you!

Despite its high price and its short length (1200 MS Points for approximately 4 hours, with very little re-playability, is not exactly the deal of the year!) Limbo is still a thrilling, breathtaking experience: simply let the darkness surround you!
Already played that, had it for a while now.

haha! Robotron 2084 isn't that good :P

I'll probably get Limbo this week especially as this weeks deal of the week sucks.

as for longevity, i wonder how long the 'finish the game without dieing 5 times' will take?

I suppose after a couple of run through's you will know where your going and what's coming next.

I am looking forward to comic jumper, and pinball FX 2, i have the first one plus 5 extra tables, so i am more than happy to download the second for free, especially as they are improving the ball physics and graphics on all the original tables too!

This week on Xbox Live is a brace of new XBLA titles, ending the Game Feast in style. First up is the delayed Pinball FX 2, which hits the store a little late, but now arrives alongside Ubisoft's Bloody Good Time, which is a wacky first-person shooter that has players shooting each other on a Hollywood movie set. A whole different kind of movie shoot then.

Beyond Good & Evil HD, Torchlight dated
Beyond Good & Evil HD hits Xbox Live Arcade on 2nd March, one week before action RPG Torchlight, Microsoft has announced.
Both games are part of the Xbox Live Arcade House Party season, which kicks off on 16th February with retro Konami run 'n' gunner Hard Corps: Uprising.
Here is the full schedule, as detailed on Major Nelson's blog:
* 16th February: Hard Corps: Uprising, 1200 Microsoft Points
* 23rd February: Bejeweled Blitz, 800 Microsoft Points
* 2nd March: Beyond Good & Evil HD, 800 Microsoft Points
* 9th March: Torchlight, 1200 Microsoft Points
* 16th March: Full House Poker, 800 Microsoft Points
For those of you still in short trousers, check out our Beyond Good & Evil retrospective (http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/retrospective-beyond-good-and-evil-article) for more on why you should be excited about the return of Ubisoft's eccentric 2003 adventure title.
The games is also due to put in an appearance on PlayStation Network at some point in 2011, though no release date has been published as of yet.
As for Torchlight, Eurogamer's Alec Meer awarded the PC version 8/10 back in 2009, insisting, "it's the best Diablolike since Diablo II, and a very real rival to the upcoming (at an unspecified point, God-blinking-dammit) Diablo III."
