OnLive Mobile
(1/1)
nCogNeato:
We’re really excited to announce the OnLive app for mobile: our new free app that makes the latest, highest-performance games available for instant play on millions of tablets and smartphones in the US and UK. That’s right: gone are the days of needing a console or high-end computer to access top-tier games. With the OnLive app, your tablet or phone is your console, providing instant, on-demand play of AAA titles like Batman: Arkham City, L.A. Noire and Assassin’s Creed: Revelations, anytime and anywhere you want to play.
To kick off this historic day in gaming, we are launching with a growing library of over 20 console-class games via touch control, including LEGO Batman: The Videogame (available FREE when you download the free OnLive app onto a mobile device!), Defense Grid Gold, Dirt 3, Split Second, Darksiders and many more.
Soon, you can also get a grip on your game with the new OnLive Wireless Controller, which is compatible with many tablets and phones, enabling fast-action game play with almost every game in OnLive’s entire catalog of nearly 200 titles.
As always, almost all OnLive games are cross-platform, so you can start a game on your TV at home, continue it on your tablet on the train to work, then sneak in a session during your lunch break on PC or Mac, each time dropping seamlessly into the action just where you left off, with full cross-platform multiplayer and social features. With both Wi-Fi and mobile network support (especially the new low-latency 4G LTE), you have the power to play almost anywhere—on any device, indoors or outdoors.
While we are working as fast as we can to get the OnLive app for mobile working on as many tablets and smartphones as possible, bear in mind that we can’t exactly predict how long it will take to get through app store certification, especially during the holiday season. So, if OnLive is not available on your mobile device today, hang in there. Also, we are working with publishers to expand the library of touch-controllable games. More great games are coming with incredibly creative touch and motion interfaces.
This is a big milestone for gaming: now tablets and smartphones—the fastest-growing category of consumer electronic devices in history—can play the latest and highest-performance games, without compromises, and without big downloads gobbling up local storage. It’s amazingly cool.
Check it out for yourself wherever you are: pick up your tablet or smartphone, get the free OnLive app, and just play.
