Title: Mass Effect 2 DLC
Post by: nCogNeato on February 08, 2010, 09:54:33 PM
BioWare will be regularly rolling out new DLC for Mass Effect 2 via the in-game Cerberus Network.

Getting things started, Tuesday February 09 2010 Mass Effect 2 fans will be able to get the new Cerberus Assault Armor and M-22a Eviscerator Shotgun DLC fof free through the Cerberus network. It should be available for all fans, both on PC and Xbox 360 at 12:00pm Mountain Standard Time.

Cerberus Assault Armor
Cerberus assault armor is designed for shock troops, turn the tide of battle against creatures or forces that would decimate normal soldiers.
Increases heavy weapon ammo capacity by +10%
Increases shields by +10%
Increases health by +10%

M-22a Eviscerator Shotgun
The M-22a Eviscerator Shotgun is a longer-range shotgun with armor-piercing loads. This design also violates several intergalactic weapons treaties, so the M-22a is not distributed to militaries.

You can learn more about  the Cerberus Assault Armor in a Arsenal update with screenshots of the armor in action at http://masseffect.bioware.com/universe/arsenal/armor/.

I don't get the point of releasing DLC for extra armour, weapons etc. It doesn't make the game any different. Extra missions, that's all I want, unless they could somehow release some sort of multiplayer mode so that I could play as some of the different characters.

They're gonna be releasing all sorts from tat like this armour to extra side missions and extra story related stuff.

I think they are just doing bit liks this so it will stay in peoples minds and to let the community know they are supporting it. I think in a month at the most you'll get extra missions.

Jolly good. I was really disappointed in the Pinnacle Station add on for the first one though, hope the stuff they release is going to be better than that!!!

other EA games (SHIFT, Dragon Age being the most recent) use a 20 digit code you input ingame. Unlike the 25 digit Microsoft LIVE redemption codes.

Mass Effect 2 'Firewalker' DLC coming late March, includes Hammerhead vehicle and 5 missions

BioWare has detailed another dose of Mass Effect 2 DLC, dubbed the "Firewalker" pack. The upcoming release includes five missions featuring the Hammerhead vehicle, according to an update on the Cerberus Network page, part of the official Mass Effect site. BioWare co-founder Greg Zeschuk described the Hammerhead as a "hover tank," during a recent interview with Joystiq, adding, "It's not a wheeled vehicle, so it's going to have a bit of a different control scheme" than did the much-maligned Mako vehicle featured constantly in Mass Effect 1.

On the website, the Hammerhead is promoted as "a heavy assault vehicle that hovers over the battlefield at up to 120 kilometers per hour [75 mph] and features a guided missile system ensuring accuracy even during aggressive maneuvering." In other words, it's everything the Mako wasn't -- and it's optional.

The Firewalker DLC pack is scheduled for a "late March" release and will be accessible free of charge through the Cerberus Network in-game delivery system. Of course, nothing's really "free" when it's got Cerberus' shady name attached to it, is it, Mr. Illusive Man?

Is anyone else using the dragon armour, which was a free download with a code from the special edition of Dragon Age?

It looks cool, but you are constantly wearing a helmet, which doesn't really work when he downs a drink magically through his helmet.  ;D

The "helmet" is actually a holographic energy barrier that protects against attack, but allows harmless items (like food and drink) to pass through.

I'm just f***ing with you.    ;)

Send Yvonne and Adam my love.  I hope Chuck doesn't get cancelled after this season.  I don't want to have to buy anymore subs (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chuck_(TV_series)#Campaign_for_series_renewal.2C_2009), but I will if I have to.   ;)

You know what's a shame over here in the UK Chuck is has a pretty big following, they should do what they for Battlestar, Give the UK season 4 then let the states have it after.

Mass Effect 2 Equaliser Pack live

Despite the fact that I am uber-gay for Mass Effect ...

No Achievements + Not Free = No Sale for old Neato.

I don't need any 'boosts' to any of my ME gear.  I already beat it on Insane with the gear I started the game with.   :P

I had to give up on Mass Effect 2 got to the end on Insanity, but can not beat the Reaper and every time my controller was getting even more beaten to death.

It took me a while to.  I had to do a lot of tweaking for my armor (faster shield recharge, increased firepower, etc.).

You also want to keep your teammates in cover & resurrect them constantly so you can spam power-combos.  Especially using Biotics to take down barriers & Tech to take down shields quickly.
