Battlefield 3 covers two Xbox 360 discs

Battlefield 3 may span two Xbox 360 DVD discs.

A Japanese poster for the game cited that on Xbox 360, Battlefield 3 comes on "DVD-ROM x2". On PS3, BF3 comes on "BD ROM x1". The picture of the poster was shared by Hachimaki.

Whether Battlefield 3 will require disc-swapping part-way through the campaign, or opt to separate single- and multiplayer, remains to be seen.

The news of Battlefield 3 requiring two discs follows on the heels of news that vast open world role-playing game Skyrim will only require one Xbox 360 DVD.

lol whats to be sorry for, any BF news is good news! well as long we get that beta date. I did read as well (too lazy to find the source again)! but it could be that the beta/demo has only one map. And that it will be a map with everything on it from air and land vehicles to buildings to big open areas to eh trees,  a big map so they can get a one shot view of everything. Caspian border? seems likely.

But the official statement did say ''at least''one map<<<kind of obvious , a beta without any maps Dice?

wow they got it bad.

BATTLEFIELD 3 REDEFINES VEHICULAR MANSLAUGHTER

An astounding array of vehicles has always been the hallmark of the Battlefield series, and Battlefield 3 is no exception. It boasts 20 vehicles across 12 classes, each one fully customisable. In the latest installment of Battleblog, the DICE team reveals new details of just how expansive the vehicular component of Battlefield 3 is.

Tweaking the performance of your vehicle of choice is simple in execution and complex in options. There are 80 unlockable specialisation upgrades that can be equipped to vehicles in one of three customisation slots: secondary weapon, gadget, and upgrade. These specialisations are unlocked by vehicle class based on the number of kills you score using any vehicle of that class.

In addition to offering the deepest vehicle customisation to date in the series, DICE has overhauled vehicular combat to make it a more balanced, intense experience. Too often in the past, tank drivers barreled headlong into combat zones only to abandon their tanks when the going gets tough.

Finally, Battlefield 3 will also introduces armour recovery for vehicles that are only lightly damaged, but fending off the enemy until Engineer support can arrive is sure to result in some truly nail-biting moments. To learn more, be sure to check out the full blog post on the Battlefield site.

Battlefield 3 will release on October 28th in the UK. Pre-order your copy on Origin today to receive early access to the open beta in September
and other awesome exclusives.

Argghh I can't stand it no more!!!

Right this is getting boring now Dice!!

Didn't see this anywhere so here goes :

EOD Bot
- Can be placed on the ground
- Player switches to camera view on EOD Bot
- Capable of Arming/Defusing MCOMS
- Can repair vehicles or torch players/vehicles

Radio Beacon
- Acts as a spawn point
- Model looks like a little radio
- Can be placed anywhere

Micro UAV
- Is thrown onto the ground
- Play switches to UAV Camera
- can push the EOD Bot around
- Used for spotting enemies
- No Weapons but to be added?

Radar Beacon
- Can be placed on the ground
- Scans area for enemies
- Only available to Recon Class

Smoke Grenades
- Could be used to cover a choke point entirely
- Should be used to hide a wave of EOD Bots attacking.
