Title: RUSE open beta on Steam
Post by: Handshakes on March 11, 2010, 07:25:24 PM
Log into Steam and check out the beta for new WW2 RTS R.U.S.E.

Published by Ubisoft and developed by one of my favorite lesser known developers, Eugen Systems, R.U.S.E. puts a really neat twist on the RTS genre. From what I have played so far, I have to say that I am really impressed. Google the game to learn more about it, or just hop on Steam and start downloading the beta. It is well worth it.

I'm not an RTS fan, but I am a Shakes fan!   ;D

I'll give it a go this weekend.  Can we play against eachother?

That we can, Neato. Or we can play with eachother, and I can carry you to victory with my mighty French forces. Look me up on Steam: "[BusyBee's] Jim!".

I've been trying to figure this game out, but I am horrible at RTS games.

I was hoping for some kind of in-game tutorial, but all I found was a 27-page manual that I am far too lazy to read.

If anyone wants to hold my hand as I cross the street, my Steam name is "Mr_Neato".   :-[

I've got your back Neato. I too think that the game would benefit from a nice tutorial. Luckily, the interface is pretty clean and straight forward, so after a few rounds you should be able to pick up the most important bits. The only particularly tricky thing I had trouble grasping was line of sight, but after a round or two I got the hang of it.
