Was there some kind of vote for who they wanted in a Jet Li movie?

Spot on mate, Jet Li's fans picked Dacascos as the actor they wanted Jet to fight next in a movie.
Who was Warner Brothers' first choice for "The Penguin" in Batman Returns?
I know Christopher Lloyd & Bob Hoskins were considered, no doubt they're both wrong :)

I heard Bob Hoskins but I also heard Dustin Hoffman too.
There was one ridiculous rumour that they had spoken to Marlon Brando as well but I've dismissed that one....
Well one of your answers is correct, Which one?
Hoffman?
Well done Kyuubi, Your turn.
In Blade Runner, who was originally wanted for the role of Pris (be aware I know of 2 answers on this one and will be looking for either of them!)
I think one of them was Deborah Harry. ;D
Correct!
Your go again Sambo
Which film comedy duo, Were originally called Spic and Span?
I think it could be Cheech and Chong?
Correct sarge, Your go mate. ;D
Sarge, it's your turn mate :)
Oops,sorry again.
Easy one for you, which film starred Stephen Furst as 'Flounder'?
The fantastic "ANIMAL HOUSE"
Well done mate-too easy that one especially after my other question on different thread.
My most favourite film of all time! Your go Sam.
Which film received a mention in the Guiness Book of World Records as the film to which a live-action sequel was produced after the longest period of time?
Rambo? 20 years?
Return to Oz? 46 Years
Your go GM ;)
Which Hollywood actor has the highest total box office?
Tom Hanks?
Hmmm, Harrison Ford?
he's second :)
Hmmm, now I am stumped! Give me a clue, is it someone who's been in lots of films or just someone who's been in a few high grossing films (like Orlando Bloom for example)?
Bit of both to be fair mate, he's been in lots of movies, including some massive movies, I think Daniel Radcliffe is close to overtaking him with the Harry Potter films & Frank Welker is actually in front but he generally only does voice acting and he isn't the actor i'm looking for.
I don't think it is him, but my wife guesses at Bruce Willis
And if it's not him, I'll guess at Will Smith
Neither of those, the actor in question is the coolest guy on the planet :)
Me? ;)
I think I've got it, although I wouldn't have said this had you not said about his "coolness"...
Mace Windu, aka Samuel L. Jackson
Samuel Leroy Jackson is correct, something like $8billion combined Worldwide, bloody good going
Indeed!!!
OK, I think this is an easy one, but who is the only actor to receive two posthumous oscar nominations for Best Actor (in consecutive years)?
I'm guessing Heath Ledger.
James Dean?
Which actor was approached to star in Predator 2 but couldn't due to injury?
Going to go down the obvious route and say Arnold Schwarzenegger.
Quote from: sambo on February 26, 2010, 04:41:07 PM
Going to go down the obvious route and say Arnold Schwarzenegger.
Not quite as obvious as that mate, sorry :)
It might have been JCVD?
Again a complete guess, But I think the *injury* is a clue, And Predator 2 was out around 1990/91, I'm going to guess Hulk Hogan.
JCVD was originally the Predator in the first movie before he was replaced (thank god) by Kevin Peter Hall, so it's not him, it's not Hogan either.
The actor in question is best known among ladies for two massive movies, men however usually hate those films & prefer a few of his action films.
Is said actor now unfortunately deceased?

Unfortunately yes
Is it Patrick Swayze then?
Patrick Swayze is correct, he was unable to star in the film due to an injury he'd picked up filming Road House, your turn JT :)
OK, I'm not very good with quiz questions, so I've got this from IMDB.
What have Farrah Fawcett, Glenn Close, Barbara Hershey, Bernadette Peters, Bonnie Bedelia, Dianne Wiest, Margot Kidder, Jessica Lange, Meryl Streep, Sigourney Weaver, Cybill Shepherd, Christine Lahti, Jane Seymour, Anjelica Huston, Catherine Hicks, Christine Baranski, Kay Lenz, Kim Basinger, Kathleen Turner, Debra Winger, and Geena Davis all got in common?

Yay, well done Craig :) Just remember, if I ever set a question on here it's more than likely going to have some sort of sci-fi connection.
Only 5 actors have appeared in all 3 Scream movies, can you name them?
Courteney Cox, David Arquette, Neve Campbell, erm, after that I can't remember!!!
Edit: The guy who dies in the 2nd one but somehow ends up in the third whose name I can't remember!
Quote from: Jaynestown on March 03, 2010, 10:26:14 AM
Courteney Cox, David Arquette, Neve Campbell, erm, after that I can't remember!!!
Good start, only two more left :)
The guy who dies in 2 is the guy that gives the rules of a trilogy, I can see his face but i have no idea what his name is!
Right, the other two (I think) is the rules of the Trilogy guy who dies in the 2nd one, and I'm guessing the fifth one is the guy who plays Sabretooth in the Wolverine movie whose name I also can't think of (at least I think he's in the first one - maybe on a TV screen or something)!!!
Edit: I've remembered the Sabretooth guy's name, it's Liev Schreiber (assuming he is in the first). Still no idea on the other guy's name though!
It is the guy that tells the rules (Randy is the character) so i'll give you that, Jamie Kennedy is the actor, Liev Schreiber is also correct, your turn mate :)
Cool, but I would never have got his real name!
Right must think of a good question... nothign Star Wars related either ;)
OK, seeing as I watched it the other day.
In The Thing, how many of the twelve man team do we actually know get copied and become The Thing, and who are they? (character or actor name will do)?
Great question for a great film, that I haven't seen in a long time.
I think maybe 4 or 5 of the 12 get copied/infected but other than Wilford Brimley's character i've not idea of character/actor names.
Number is wrong, Wilford Brimley (character name Blair) is correct though. If you remember the testing scene it'll probably help you.
I'm not counting Kurt Russell and Keith David at the end BTW, as neither know if they've been infected/copied or not, if that helps narrow it down (personally I don't think either can be infected).
Nothing to do with the answer but a script was doing the rounds a couple of years ago for The Thing II, where Russell & David's characters where found & apparantly the script was pretty good, Carpenter was also interested in making it, not sure whats happened since though.
Back on the answer, i'll now go with 6 but again, apart from Blair, no idea on the names.
Shame it didn't happen, The Thing is one of my all time favourite films but I haven't seen it in ages until last week.
You've going too high. The cast is as follows if that helps:
Kurt Russell ... R.J. MacReady
Wilford Brimley ... Dr. Blair
T.K. Carter ... Nauls
David Clennon ... Palmer
Keith David ... Childs
Richard Dysart ... Dr. Copper
Charles Hallahan ... Vance Norris
Peter Maloney ... George Bennings
Richard Masur ... Clark
Donald Moffat ... Garry
Joel Polis ... Fuchs
Thomas G. Waites ... Windows
And having copied that from IMDB it's just occurred to me though that I've made a blunder, your answer before of 4 or 5 was correct, but I worded the question wrong as I wasn't counting Bennings or Windows as neither get fully copied (I should have asked "how many of the twelve man team do we actually know get fully copied and become The Thing. I was only looking for 3 (of which Blair was one).
So to finish the question, who are the other two?
Isn't Norris the guy who has a heart attack? While they try to help him his body opens up and rips some guy's arms off, so Norris would be one, still not sure on the other though.
Norris is correct. Seeing as you haven't seen it for a while, the other one is Palmer, he's the one that goes all "mental" when MacCready does the test on him and starts to assimilate Windows (the radio operator), thus proving that the test works etc.
That was way to complicated a question, sorry (especially as I cocked it up) :-[
Your go!
nice one mate, it was a bloody good question though, had to have a good think about it.
Here we go then.
Sticking with John Carpenter, despite being Carpenter's first and only choice for Big Trouble In Little China, who did the studio suggest instead of Kurt Russell?
God, I haven't seen that in ages either!
Total stab in the dark, Richard Gere!

It's not Gere, both are Oscar winners, one of them is a well known tough guy, the other is has a very famous grin :)

Quote from: Jaynestown on March 03, 2010, 01:56:26 PM

He's way tougher than Bruce, even now and he's way past free bus pass age :)
Steve Martin is wrong too, he's a 3 time Oscar winner if that helps & he likes the Lakers :)
Jack Nicholson!
Thats the second actor, well done, who is the first?
Chuck Norris!
It's not Chuck, the actor in question is probably not as tough as Chuck, but then who is?
The actor is more famous for directing these days, but still does his hard man bit from time to time.
Oh blimey! I'd have bet good money it was Chuck!
The only person i can think of who is now famous for directing instead is Clint Eastwood???
Clint is spot on mate.
Good job Carpenter got his first pick, nobody other than Kurt Russell could play Jack Burton, same goes for Snake Plissken.
Exactly!!! "Snake Plissken, I heard you were dead!" ;D
Oh god, I have so many films I want to watch now!!! Stop reminding me of all these good films :)
OK, carrying on from that, what "gaming character" was inspired by Snake Plissken :D

David Caruso left NYPD Blue to film what movie and to pursue a full time career in film?
No idea on that one, can't think of a single film with David Caruso in it!
He was in Body Count, So i'm going with that!
I'll leave this one to you Sambo
It's not Body Count, the film stars Samuel L Jackson & Ving Rhames
Still no idea on this! :(
Another clue - Nicolas Cage also stars
Is David Caruso's role a bit part, or does he have a proper role? I can honestly say I can't think of one film he's been in.
Is it Con Air?
Quote from: RedMaster11 on March 13, 2010, 06:16:31 PM

Can't be, Samuel L. Jackson's not in Con Air. Still no idea, but I bet I know who does know. Mr. IMDB! ;)
David Caruso is the lead actor in this film.
I looked it up on imdb, never heard of it.
So did I, and me neither. You can see why he became such a massive star after leaving NYPD Blue can't you? ;)
It got lost a little with all the other big crime movies released around that time, but it's a damn good film with some fine actors, you should check it out.
Shall I post another question?
I would, better post the answer too, 'cos I've forgotten what it was called!
The answer is Kiss of Death, well worth checking out, here is the trailer should anyone be interested in watching it.
Who was first choice to play J.D. in Thelma & Louise? Brad Pitt was third choice & of course, bagged the role.
Any clues?

His films are nearly always set in Texas, along with directing, he also produces, writes, composes and edits the majority of his films, even starring in some too.
