Title: PES 2011
Post by: TaraJayne on May 04, 2010, 04:09:18 PM
Konami Digital Entertainment has confirmed details about PES 2011, which will deliver the "most radical revamp" in the football franchise's history.

The publisher said that the multiplatform game will give more freedom to the player via a power bar for determining the exact strength and placement of passes and shots.

Under the new system, gamers will have greater precision to play quick one-twos or place long and short balls into space to dictate the tempo of matches.

Konami has also tweaked the assisted AI system so that players will have to judge passes to teammates more accurately in an increased sense of realism.

The game will feature over 1,000 all-new animations for running, tackling and player interaction drawn from in excess of 100 hours of motion capture work.

PES 2011 will also see the Master League management element head online as players compete to attract the world's best players to their team.

"It was time for PES to transform, and PES 2011 represents the most ambitious redesign in the series's history," said Konami's European PES team leader Jon Murphy.

"We've continued to work closely with the fans to pinpoint what it is about football that PES didn't do. Total freedom was the priority and all-new animation a must. PES 2011 does both - indeed, they are directly linked to each other - and while the new game is recognisably PES at its heart, it is also the most radically improved version ever."

PES 2011, which features Barcelona's Lionel Messi as its cover star, will be released for PS3, Xbox 360, Wii, PS2, PSP and PC in the autumn.

Despite hardly being improved at all this gen, Pro Evo is still, for me, miles ahead of FIFA in the playability stakes.

PES 2011 loses Mark Lawrenson (thank f**k for that   ;D )
Jim Beglin joins Jon Champion in commentary box of new game

PES fans who have been calling for a Mark Lawrenson-free game rejoice... The once-mustachioed pundit won't appear in PES 2011, CVG has learnt.

Although previous PES commentator Jon Champion has been retained for the new title, Lawrenson has been replaced by ITV man Jim Beglin.

Some PES players have criticised Lawrenson in the past for sounding disinterested during play.

"We're keeping Jon Champion," European PES team leader Jon Murphy told CVG. "Lawrenson's delivery was a little forced at times. But that was partly him not living it in the studio and partly the way our scripts were written. Neither helped the other.

"With Jon Champion we've always had someone who's better at ad libbing. We've not only changed one member of the commentary team - which I hope people will be really pleased about - but we've gone for a much more live effect with the sound generally.

"We've changed the scripts, the studios we use etc. So we have done a certain amount. I think we've done enough to improve the atmosphere. In addition, the menu screens are a lot less 'Japanese-y'; a lot less clunky than they have been in the past.

"Also, at the end of the day, how are you going to play PES most of the time? It's against mates and the biggest thing you'll hear will be you ripping the p*ss out of your friend because you've just scored a goal against him."

That's exactly why I will most likely buy it along with FIFA this year.

I long for the day when PES gets back to it's roots and beats FIFA, I used to be such a PES fanboy, But I have to admit that FiFA has been the better game on this generation. But you know once PES get's it right it will kick FIFA into touch so to speak, Here's hoping it's this years game.

I think this game will be the game we've all been waiting for, it looks a lot better and doesn't look like a tarted up PS2 game like the previous 360 versions, i'd rather play PES from 10 years ago than a new FIFA game, far better games in my opinion.

PES 2011 demo dated

Konami has popped a 15th September date on the PES 2011 demo for PC and PS3.

Subscribers to Sony's PlayStation Plus service can, however, download the sampler from 8th September.

The whereabouts of the Xbox 360 demo is unknown. We'll know "shortly", apparently.

The PES 2011 demo does not allow online play. Instead, you're able to take on the computer - or a friend on the same console - as either Barcelona, Bayern, Chivas Guadalajara or Internacional.

Konami's PES 2011 is due out proper on 8th October - exactly a week after FIFA 11.

Free PES 2011 update on Tuesday

Konami will release a free update for Pro Evolution Soccer 2011 on Tuesday, 12th October.

This will bring all game data up to date with the real-world, and add all football teams that have qualified for the Champions League to PES 2011's dedicated mode.

Team kits have been brought into line, too - and four new licensed boots introduced. Get in!

There are also three new wallpapers starring stupidly good footballer Lionel Messi.
