Telltale Games will revisit classic films for new videogames.
Telltale Games will be creating episodic games based on Back To The Future and Jurassic Park.
Telltale Games is fresh off the episodic release of Wallace & Gromit for Xbox Live Arcade, so the studio is no stranger to the format.
Telltale hasn't yet revealed what the games will be called but we do know that they'll be released this winter and that they will tell new stories for the respective films.
"I think it's a prime time to reintroduce these properties in the digital world," said Dan Connors, CEO at Telltale Games. "Telltale Games has always set out to be a great storytelling company. We've been honing our chops over the past six years, and we're ready to take on these two iconic properties and continue to advance storytelling in games."
"The games are going to exist within these worlds," said Connors. "I wouldn't call these games sequels per se but a new interpretation of their worlds for a new medium. For one generation, it's an introduction to these series. For another generation, it's a thing they can look back on and something they can share warmly with their family and friends."
episodic = BLEH!
now a Jurassic Park game where you can be humans or dinosaurs (like AvP did) .... that'd be fun

Back to the Future release avoids Xbox 360Time-travel adventures coming to PC, Mac, PSN and iPadTelltale has released three behind the scenes videos for its upcoming Back to the Future adventure game, which won't be coming to Xbox 360.
Picking up shortly after the events of the third Back to the Future film, the title will see Marty and Doc embark on a completely new time-travel adventure across five episodes.
PC and Mac versions of the game are expected to debut in December, followed by PSN and iPad releases.
The first behind the scenes movie features Bob Gale, the co-creator, writer and producer of the Back to the Future film trilogy, and Christopher 'Doc Brown' Lloyd talking about their involvement.
In the second video AJ Locascio, the new voice actor for Marty McFly, talks about his ability to emulate Michael J. Fox and how he got involved with the project.
In the final video, director Dennis Lenart goes into detail on how Telltale is handling the games.

I figure a larger % of us own a PC capable of playing these games than a PS3. I may be wrong. ;)
Back to the Future: The Game headed to retail stores
Telltale confirms boxed release
Telltale Games has revealed that its adventure games based on Back to the Future will soon be available in retail stores.
Speaking to MCV, Telltale's head of publishing James Lamorticelli said that the studio's future releases are also likely to end up on shelves.
"Telltale's strategy has always been to take our games to retail in as many markets that we can across the globe" said Lamorticelli.
"Historically, we have released most of our brands at retail in varied territories and our intent is to continue to reach retail audiences with all of our future releases as well"
According to Lamorticelli, the episodic nature of Telltale's games make them suitable for boxed release, since shoppers are already accustom to buying similarly packaged TV box-sets.
"Boxed product releases are like the 'end of season' DVDs that TV shows get, and customers are acclimated to buying at retail."
Lamorticellli went on to say that he hopes there will be less of a delay between digital and boxed releases with future titles.
He added: "Part of what we are trying to achieve is a shorter timeframe between when our season ends digitally and when the entire pack hits store shelves,"
"We have recently been in discussions about testing new ways to reach our retail customers on multiple channels when our digital season is still in process."
Over the last few years, Telltale has established itself as the leading creator of adventure games.
As well as the Sam and Max titles Telltale has created a number of new Monkey Island titles - which are also scheduled to hit retail stores later this year - and is currently working on a game set in the Jurassic Park universe.
Back to the Future sets PS3 date
The first chunk of Telltale Games' episodic Back to the Future tie-in will arrive on the US PlayStation Network on 15th February, the developer has announced.
A precise European wasn't confirmed, but will "follow shortly thereafter".
$19.99 will get you all five episodes, though you'll only get the first one on launch day. The rest will be staggered over the subsequent four months.
Telltale also confirmed that the first episode will be available on the iPad before the end of February.
The videogame adaptation of the classic '80s Michael J Fox series scored a respectable 7/10 when it came out on PC late last year.
"A decent enough adventure game in a wonderfully-realised universe, where a little bit of corner-cutting can't ruin the pleasures of all the unlikely elements the developer gets right," wrote Eurogamer's Christian Donlan.
