Title: The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion
Post by: TaraJayne on July 14, 2009, 04:19:52 PM
Rev. Jim Osborne of the Landover Baptist Church (Forums) has gone on a rampage over Bethesda's awesome action-RPG Oblivion and he ain't holding back. "It is harmful and a cancer on society," he says in a lengthy forum post. God help us.

The original post that includes comments such as "It is well-understood that playing that demon-worshipping game "Doom" caused those two kids, Dylan Klebold and Eric Harris to do the Columbine shootings."

One response explained, "It is also popular for males to play female characters. That way they can seduce other male characters. Takes demon worship to a new level."

Or what about this post from a fellow forum goer, "Hopefully in our lifetimes we will see more legislation to keep Super Nintendo games like these off the streets where young and impressionable 30-somethings living in their parents' basements cannot get their hands on them."

haha, that is now my favourite website...I shall no longer be posting here but sticking with the Landover Baptist crew.

One member in that thread has a signature that states "he's putting the stud back in bible study"  absolute genius!!!  another member has now been banned by the admin staff and has "eternal damnation assured" - you couldn't make this stuff up!!

Anywho regarding the actual OP of that thread his remarks are complete bollocks.  Says that elves are satanic looking, what about the bloody Cat-like thingys and not to mention that you are fighting AGAINST demons for the majority of the game.

Ill informed bible-belt christian looking for something controversial to post with the vain hope of getting free publicity in the media...

Good job he hasn't played Overlord... ;)

EDIT:  Forgot to mention that the dude thought it was a Super Nintendo game...epic fail...haha

BibleThumpinBlonde is this ladys forum name.
One of her quotes:
Oh, it's WAY MORE than a game friend! Playing video games is just as dangerous as playing with Satan's over-sized, dangling tallywacker! Playing with either one of them you are literally screwed!

Enjoy HELL!

Now this woman has given me more bad thoughts than any video game.

Another fine quote

"That is something I forgot! A male player can roleplay as a female, and vice versa. If this isn't an opportunity to live out transsexual fantasies, I don't know what is. You can also run around the game half-naked. Men wearing nothing but a loincloth, and women wearing a revealing set of bra and panties. There is also prostitution and sexual innuendo in the game. This game is for deranged moral perverts, no doubt. "

I played this game for well over 200 hours lol I must be well perverted and deranged

I have a question. I've been trying to get Bioshock for a reasonable price (I want to play the original before trying the sequel) but the cheapest I can find it anywhere is £15 (new or pre-owned). However, I have seen the Bioshock/Oblivion double pack also for £15. So the question is, if I traded in my GOTY edition of Oblivion with the extra DLC and bought the Bioshock/Oblivion double pack (without the DLC) and hence get both games for £15 less the price for trading in Oblivion, will I be able to use the two DLC's I've loaded on to my hard disk from the extra disk that comes with the GOTY edition of Oblivion, or will they only work with the GOTY edition?

If the DLC didnt work it would be a bit stupid.  (On the game developers side) Because imagine if you bought the DLC from market place and got a new Oblivion game and dlc didnt work!  Would be silly!

So to answer your question it should more than likely work.  If it does not then you can always take it back to gamestation since they now do a 10 day return policy.  (Stupid gamestation)

I know it sounds like a stupid question, but what I meant though is, is the Shivering Isles and the Knights Of The Nine DLC that comes with the GOTY edition exactly the same as the downloadable versions, or is it somehow coded to only work with the GOTY edition of Oblivion?

Yeah but thats what I said.. would be stupid for them to be different.

I agree, I was hoping someone would be able to confirm though.

I borrowed my mates GOTY edition to use his DLC on my vanilla addition, so it does work. Same as Fallout.
