Fight Night Yay!!!!   ;D

Does MvC2 or SSF2THD have the mode that lets everyone watch the fights from a "lobby" while they wait their turn to play the winner?

I know SSF4 has it, but I don't own it.   :(

Other way.

10:30pm GMT = 4:30pm CST   :)

CST is -6 GMT, which means simply subtract 6 hours.

Ditto.  The fun will be sitting in the "lobby" and cheering/booing eachother.

Thanks to Failed, neato, Dfuzz, Kewl, Loot and Dark. Extra love for JT who turned up late with no space and had to listen to us squeal at Sentinels and us shouting 'Stop firing your white stuff at little girls, Spiderman'....

Good suggestion though mate, we very rarely play sports games on here.

I think we should restart the FIFA League we had on the old site, maybe when FIFA 11 comes out also add PES 2011 to the mix too as it looks like we're finally getting the Pro Evo game we deserve.

What do you all think, new FIFA/PES League a good idea?

Yes, a good idea in theory. I seem to remember last time we started a league though it fizzled out quite quickly. i think it would need to be well organised this time around. A sports theme night is a good suggestion too, or maybe a music theme night as i just bought rock band 1 for £11.00 and a rock band drum kit for a tenner, should have them delivered before next wednesday. Just need me a guitar now, but can't seem to find one online as everywhere is sold out unless i am willing to pay £70.00 for a beatles one, which i'm not! So i guess i am volunteering to be the drummer lol
A war games theme night is the only other suggestion i could think of.

You can get GH2 with a wired guitar preowned for around £15.00, it's the best in the series despite some dodgy covers and the guitar works fine on Rock Band, GH Metallica with the GH World Tour wireless guitar is £15/20 preowned too if you look around.

I looked all over the web for a rock band or a guitar hero wireless guitar OR wired guitar with or without a game but couldn't find one that wasn't over £50.00. I would prefer wireless, even though for authenticity a wired one would be better! Also i thought the guitar hero guitars only had four buttons but the rock band ones have five, is this true and if it is how would that effect me playing rock band with a guitar hero controller?

Both the GH and Rock Band guitars have 5 fret buttons, the only difference is that the Rock Band guitars have another 5 buttons lower down the neck for the solo parts, if you use a GH guitar you'd just have to play as normal through the solo parts.

I've only ever used a Rock Band strat a few times and it's not a patch on the GH3 Les Paul imo.   :)

Yeah i have heard a lot of people say that, think i will go for a les paul then but it's finding one cheap enough. I am only willing to pay £20.00, i have seen one on it's own on Amazon for 28.99 but i have already shelled out £20.00 so far on the drums and rock band 1 game, and i want a mic at some point too. It's gonna start running too expensive if i'm not careful and the cost was one of the main reasons i have never bought a music game before. Might have a look in my local gamestation tomorrow see if they have any pre owned guitar controllers in for cheap. Is the les paul one wireless?

Music Night is a good idea.  We could pretty much rotate all multiplayer genres each week.

Racing
Fighting
Sports
Music
FPS
TPS
RTS
Board/Card/Party/Trivia (maybe call it "Family Night"?)
Others?

Bah, I need to get more games to be able to do this stuff.

I don't think anyone expects to actually participate in every Theme Night.  I think the purpose of Theme Nights is to give every niche player a chance to play a game with the community.

Shoots are always going to be more popular than Racing games.  Theme Nights give Racing fans a chance to play a game that will always get outvoted on Friday Nights.

OHMYGOD MUSIC NIGHT!!
MUSIC NIGHT!
MUSIC NIGHT!
i wanna belt out some badass tunes..

Music Night is a good idea.  We could pretty much rotate all multiplayer genres each week.

Racing
Fighting
Sports
Music
FPS
TPS
RTS
Board/Card/Party/Trivia (maybe call it "Family Night"?)
Others?

can parties watch movies on zune?? like together?
we could like once a month have movie night :O

That's a cool idea.  I've never used the Zune Party feature, so I'm not sure how it would work internationally.

I'm also not a fan of buying/renting movies on my Xbox that I can watch with Netflix, but that doesn't mean other people shouldn't have the opportunity.  If other people like it, I may peerpressure myself into renting a Zune movie.   ;)

We can all watch Sleepless in Seattle together and you guys can listen to me quote the entire movie verbatim.

I just want to take a moment to thank our game night moderator failed for doing an excellent job since he took the position a couple of months ago. Friday nights are becoming increasingly popular as are Wednesday theme nights, which I believe are failed's idea and I have honestly enjoyed every theme night so far, especially last night and our Forza 3 session. I look forward to every Wednesday and Friday now as they are the highlight of my week. So thank you and keep up the good work failed, long may your reign continue!

And listen to me sob quietly when Tom Hanks meets Meg Ryan for the first time.

But yeah, I'd drop a few hundred MS points for a zune movie night party. I also have Netflix for that. Can non-Netflix people join Netflix people to watch one of their movies?

There is a netflix party feature, but it is probably for netflix people only.

Also, my nails are immaculate and I do enjoy walks on the beach and poetry.

Does Netflix have a "party" option like Zune does?  I do share my Netflix account with my sisters.  Occassionally we 'sync' our movies by starting them and pausing/playing at the same moment, and watch them while in XBL Party Chat.

Easier than driving 40 miles to hang out.   ;D

I treat myself to a massage once or twice a month.
I also like eating Italian food in a dim candlelit room while listening to Smooth Jazz.

Netflix does indeed have a party option like Zune does. If you recall, Neato, you once dropped in to watch a bit of "Ping Pong Playa" with me way back when.

How does the music thingy work? How many people can be involved?

Rock Band 2 for instance, is it 4P only?

I need the night to run mostly smoothly, so i need more RB or GH info about hosting.

Sports Night and Music Night to come, i promise!

Oooooh yeah.  I tried it out again last night.  Zune and Netflix do have almost identical party systems.  The only difference is the "Theater Mode" graphics and ability to press the 'X' button to quickly change scale options.

Everyone inside of a Zune Party has to own/rent the video being watched.
Everyone inside of a Netflix Party has to have access to the Netflix service on their console.

Not all videos (Zune or Netflix) are Party-enabled, most likely due to licensing requirements.

A possible option for us to test run an international Zune Party event is to watch The Guild (http://social.zune.net/tv/series/The-Guild/c1e74f93-c25c-4a24-b2c9-8b83201ae4f9) series together.  It's free on Zune and it's Party-enabled.  No one has to spend any money, and I'm pretty sure the videos are available for all Xbox Live members (correct me if I'm wrong UKers).
