ROCK BAND 2Everyone that would like to play Rock Band 2 on Wednesday post here, we will then put everyones name in a hat and divide them to 2/3 'Bands'. First out the hat is host. Hat will be drawn Monday Night.
RB2 Hat: Failed, MarkyV, OTHER MUSIC GAMESIf you own another Music Game and would like to play that instead, post here and we may be able to get you a band on that .... maybe, but i assume everyone has RB2 atleast.

Although I've got both Rock Band and Guitar Hero World Tour I don't think I'll be joining in on this one. I only like to play them in short bursts!
Rock Band 2 sounds great though i'm not singing and i'm not diggin my drums out of the loft so strictly guitar and bass for me. :)

Good idea but i got rock band 1 off a private seller on play.com, so no refunds. Also the cheapest i have found rock band 2 is £20.00 and i can't justify spending any more money on games this month. I would have got rock band 2 if it had been a tenner like rock band 1 was, but at least i have the rock band 1 tracks. I will get rock band 2 next month and then i will do as you say so that way i will have gazzillions of tracks. Never mind, i will sit wednesday out.
i'll see if i can get you a Rock Band 2 tomorrow at the carboot :P i actually think i can remember a guy there last week with Rock Band 2 for £10. He's there every week so if he still has it.
I transferred all the tracks from Rock Band 1 to my HDD when I had it ages ago, sadly Enter Sandman doesn't transfer but then i've got GH Metallica so I guess it doesn't matter. :)
I did the same with the AC/DC disc and will do the same with the Green Day one eventually too.
well i just had my first go of rockband 1 on the drums, i played radiohead's creep on medium difficulty and i pretty much nailed it first go - 90%. I guess i am gonna be awesome on drums :) Oh and if ya see rock band 1 for a tenner failed that would be brill, i really don't wanna miss out on wednesday, it will be the first time i have.

Sad :'( don't have any music games ill have to sit this one out i will keep an eye open for a good deal on RB2 so there might be a Chance not likely just bought some psp games on eBay so gaming budget is taped for this month.

YAYYY! My GH3 Wireless les paul guitar controller has just arrived. If i do get a chance to play RB1 with some of you tomorrow it means i can now play guitar/bass/or drums. I would prefer drums, but it depends how late we play cos until i get my unofficial but way quieter/more responsive/bouncier xcell silencer pads from rockbandparts.com they are very noisy!

After hating on music games ever since they came out i now own rock band 1, rock band 2, lego rock band (dfusioness bought it super cheap), rock band EL drum kit, GH3 les paul wireless guitar, and i have downloaded 5 dlc tracks already. I plan to get beatles and greenday rock band soon along with a wireless mic and extra guitar, and as I have some spare points so i will be exporting all my rock band 1 tracks to rock band 2 tonight, ready for tomorrow. I think i may have gone overboard :D

You are probably right. I love rock band 1, now my band has split up it's how i'm getting my fix. Looking forward to trying rock band 2 and getting loads more dlc :)
GH2 was the first guitar game on the 360, it came with a wired Gibson Explorer guitar and is still the best of the bunch for me, don't be put off by the dodgy covers on the game, it's still quality and a good challenge on the higher difficulties. Sadly the DLC, like with all GH games is pretty poor. Rock Band is a million times better for DLC. :)

Personally i wouldnt bother with guitar hero at all mate. Rock band is where its at. As you rent maybe worth renting guitar hero 2 and you would enjoy knights of cydonia on GH3 too, being a keen muse fan
plus Through The Fire and Flames is essential playing on GH3.
I also went overboard when i got RB and bought lots of DLC. Although when i played RB last night, all i played was the DLC >_< even though i was gonna get some more achieves done.

only way you can chat while playing RB is when youre
on drums (i think) or guitar.
If the singer is in a party, whatever the person sings
will not register on rockband, unless singer is not in a party (total fact) headsets do work though..

About 9:50 i turned on the box and started answering my daily messages ... with a guitar. I then decide to plug my headset in. Where, i have no idea, so i checks interbob. I only have old style headsets that don't fit. So i cut off the black fins on the headset insert, no luck. I take the casing off, works great, falls apart in 5 secons flat. That's dead.
I go; f*ck it. Insert code for unlocking all songs, doesn't work, interbob trip #2. Turn on cheat, disables online play. Turn off cheat. Go on LIVE, how do i invite (i forgot i could just push guide button), beg neato for help, find button, invite people ..... but i can't tell them my chat doesn't work, log off, log in with mic, tell them .... log off, log in with guitar.
Enjoy Elle cringing whenever craig got to pick a song, neato's wooden spoon but not craig picking a song, then picking bass so i was guitar which had the most ridiculous solo at the end with 5billion hammer ons and made my right index finger fall off

I have the new style headset but fizz used the old one and it fit fine into the GH3 wireless les paul, i guess you are using a different guitar. :-\ Oh well, me markav and fizz had great fun, and markav was playing expert guitar, well, expertly. I did really well on drums on medium until markav decided to pick the hardest drum song in the world, though i forget what it's called now. Well done to fizz for playing really well on bass and guitar even though you have never played a music game before, and cheers to craig who joined us after markav went, we were gonna go to bed but changed our mind after i had already told neato we were going - sorry neato but we did wait and see if you would come back. Anyway great theme night, thanks to everyone. I will definitely look forward to the next time we play RB2 :)
It was the first time a lot of us (including me) has ever played Rock Band online. It was .... an experience. ;)
Now that we're a little familiar with how it works, our next Music Night will go much smoother.
New things I learned:
- During online play, the singer can speak freely in between songs, but during songs their speech is cut off from the group. Probably for the best :P, and good to know if you're a shy singer.
- Calibrate your insruments in the menu options before entering the game. Once you're in the game, it's far too much hassle (or impossible) to do anything other than play the game. That includes changing instruments, which actually forces you to leave the game and wait for an invite. I really hope they fix that crap in RB3. >:(
- Using a wooden spoon as a replacement drum stick will give your hand a blister.
My 6-year-old nephew had claimed ownership of my RB drums since the last time I played (4th of July maybe?). The drums are falling apart to say the least. All the more reason to buy Rock Band 3 when it drops! 8)
Great fun tonight, I even got a cheevo. I'm psyched I can finally play Rock Band with all of you. Looking forward to the next time Music Night hits the rotation. ;D

Well done to fizz for playing really well on bass and guitar even though you have never played a music game before, and cheers to craig who joined us after markav went, we were gonna go to bed but changed our mind after i had already told neato we were going - sorry neato but we did wait and see if you would come back. Anyway great theme night, thanks to everyone. I will definitely look forward to the next time we play RB2 :)
Great fun last night, shame i had work today as i wanted to carry on. Hope that guy who joined our partychat didnt mind my singing too much :-[
Oh and the song that you said was the hardest song in the world was "Foreplay/long time" by Boston, get practicing 8)

you should try and get rock band 2 cheap, it's frickin' brilliant fun online and off. What did ya think of markav's singing? lol. There was a delay so every line he sung was about 10 seconds behind the song, it was so funny. He sounded like the old man herbert from family guy trying to lure chris into his basement with a serenade!

You do know you can sign in a guest to join us online, i do it sometimes if i want to sing and play guitar at the same time. If Fizz signs in as a guest she wont need a gold subscription. Just a thought

didn't know that mate, worth remembering for future reference. She wouldn't unlock any cheeves though, and the stats wouldn't save on her profile. Still, good to know and it might come in handy.

super lulz. i missed my mic or would have took the piss out of EVERYONE. I now own a mic i can plug into my guitar, so worry yourselves for the next Music Night.
Big thanks to Elle who played rock band 2 with me and fizz again last night, and then switched to her broken guitar after fizz went to bed. Was so funny lol but hope ya get a new guitar soon, it was tough having to keep saving you when you dropped out of songs :D
