Title: Top Spin 4
Post by: GamerMan316 on September 07, 2010, 03:02:02 PM
Top Spin 4 announced

2K Sports has announced tennis simulation Top Spin 4.

It's due out next year for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Wii, and is in development over at Mafia II creator 2K Czech.

We're promised redesigned controls, "jaw-dropping" player models and "Signature Style" animations.

There's also an "enhanced TV-style presentation" and "one of the deepest player rosters to date".

2K Games promises an "exciting pre-order incentive", which will be revealed closer to launch. But we do know that one pre-order bonus will be a playable Andre Agassi – valid only for the PS3 and 360 versions.

"Top Spin 4 is shaping up to be the most realistic and exhilarating tennis game in the Top Spin franchise," said 2K Sports president of product development Greg Thomas.

"For this iteration, the development team is focused on delivering a bold new take on the sport of tennis by allowing gamers to experience first-hand an uncanny level of realism in the player and stadium models, authentic audio captured directly from real tennis matches, and all-new innovative controls to dominate the competition."

The last game in the series, 2008's Top Spin 3, was proper good. Eurogamer awarded it 8/10 (http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/top-spin-3-review).

Top Spin 4 dated for UK
Rafael Nadal, Anna Ivanovic and Andy Murray on the cover

2K Games has given Top Spin 4 a UK release date of March 18, three days after the game's set to arrive in the US.

In development at Mafia II dev 2K Czech, the title promises to bring the action of tennis to life "like never before with redesigned controls, jaw-dropping player models and enhanced TV-style presentation elements".

It'll boast the largest roster in the franchise to date, including Bjorn Borg, Roger Federer, Jim Courier, Pete Sampras and Andre Agassi, who's making his first appearance as a playable character in a current gen game.

Andy Murray will star on the game's cover alongside Rafael Nadal and Anna Ivanovic.

The British No.1 said: "It's great to be included in Top Spin 4 with such a unique line up of tennis players, past and present. It's exciting that 2K Sports is giving gamers the chance to face off against different pros in realistic and detailed interactive matches."

Top Spin 4 is scheduled for release on Xbox 360, PS3 and Wii.

Played the demo for this yesterday - and I'd have to say this is probably the easiest and most fluid version of the demo I've handled. The game plays smoothly and doesn't seem to punish for playing with some recklessness...(although, I think they've dumbed it down some - perfect for my skill level.. :P ).

I tried the two courts, Paris (Clay) and US (Hardcourt) to try and the demo's players include Rafael N. or Roger F. as well as Ana Ivanovic and Serena Williams. This is probably going to be the first Tennis Game I'm going to add to my library, specifically since most of the previous demos haven't really intrigued me as much as this one in terms of visuals and the controlling.
