Konami's X-Men Arcade Classic Headed For XBLA And PSN At a Comic-Con New York panel, Marvel revealed that Konami will bring X-Men, its side-scrolling arcade beat-em-up from 1992, to the Xbox 360 and PS3 as a downloadable title.
Fans of the game remember that you could play as one of six X-Men: Cyclops, Colossus, Wolverine, Storm, Nightcrawler, or Dazzler. After blasting through Sentinels and boss characters from the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants, it was off to Magneto's Asteroid M to save Professor X and Kitty Pryde.
This port will feature drop-in online multiplayer supporting up to six players and variable difficulty levels.
No release date was specified. We'll have more details here as they come out.
awesome...will be picking this up.
Now if they'd just do the same for the version of AVP then I'll be in arcade heaven!
F***ING EPIC!
I've requested this game several times on the forums at Xbox, Konami, and Marvel sites. So excited!
certainly a must buy for me, can't wait.
Oh no,you just now it's not going to be as good as you remember. Just let sleeping dogs lie.

well streets of rage 2 was better than i remember, so i have high hopes for this one.
i loved streets of rage, i have fond memories of me n dave staying up till all hours -i was pregnant and couldn't sleep, and we played it till we finished it, happy days when i didn't have to get up at stupid o'clock for work
A local arcade (yes there are still a few in the world) has the old X-Men cabinet. I played it a few months ago, and had a blastee.
There's a strong nostalgia factor, so the game is probably going to be more enjoyable for us older gamers than the younglings. Hopefully they update the game with some slicker graphics and maybe some more characters (... Dazzler??? Really???)

Don't count on it. Knowing the Xbox Live Arcade this will be $15 and be nothing more or less than what came on the old machines.

X-Men Arcade hits XBLA next week, PSN in February
Save those points, the X-Men are coming
Konami has confirmed that the Xbox Live Arcade re-release of the classic X-Men Arcade game will be available on December 15, but it won't hit PSN until February.
The title was first shown off at New York Comic Con earlier this year, where Konami also detailed the new features added for its release.
X-Men Arcade will now feature six-player drop-in-drop-out co-op gameplay as well as the ability to change the difficulty setting, a welcome addition given the toughness of the original.

ABOUT TIME!
I wish every arcady-beat-em-up would take note. "Drop-in-drop-out" required from this point forward!
Plus, 800 MSP is less than I expected it to be ... but I'll still be waiting for a sale. 8)
