Madden Sales Numbers Shaky
Keeping pace with last year, but just barely.
NPD sales numbers just arrived on our desks and one undeniable fact that we could glean from the data is that people still enjoy Madden football.
Madden NFL 10, which launched on August 15, sold just shy of one million copies on Xbox 360 and a hair more than 650K on PlayStation 3. While the number of Xbox 360 copies sold was down just slightly from last year, PS3 increased its year-over-year sales by about 20K copies.
Sadly the same good news does not spread to the PS2 and Wii versions of Madden NFL 10. In August 2008 Madden on PS2 sold over 400K units, while this year it was only able to push a bit more than 150K out the door at retailers. The decline wasn't as large for Madden on Wii, but it's certainly notable. Last year the game was in the top ten for game sales, but this time around it dropped out of the top 10 on the list with total units sold dropping significantly.
The drop in PS2 sales is understandable because of the relative age of the system, but the decline in the Wii version is more interesting considering the game took a different approach this year. It was streamlined, leaving out many of the hardcore features gamers have come to expect from Madden including a Franchise Mode that can only be unlocked through a cheat code.

I wish they did...my completion percentage would be even better.
(currently 70%, yes I'm a 'semi' score-whore)

lol
I think I'm lingering around the 45% mark. Since the last dashboard update, I've been trying my best to reach 50%.
If I could break the 50% mark, I would be the happiest boy in the whole world.
I'm on 48% for my Score % and 52% for achievements gained %.
I rue my younger days when i'd play a game and get just 1 10G achievement!

Madden Ultimate Team Now Available (http://www.joystiq.com/2010/01/08/madden-ultimate-team-now-available-on-xbox-360-and-ps3/)
Madden 10 predicts Superbowl winner
It's the New Orleans Saints vs the Indianapolis Colts
This one's for the five NFL fans out there in the UK. EA Sports reckons that the New Orleans Saints will defeat the Indianapolis Colts, 35-31, at Super Bowl XLIV according to Madden NFL 10 on Xbox 360.
EA Sports has correctly predicted the Super Bowl winner for five out of the last six years, since the official Madden NFL Super Bowl simulation began in 2004.
Here's how it's done: "Utilizing each team's current roster and the latest player statistics, Madden NFL 10 was able to accurately predict the outcome of both the NFC and AFC Championship games within a margin of three points for each game. EA SPORTS utilized this same simulation formula to predict the outcome of Super Bowl XLIII (Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Arizona Cardinals) with unprecedented accuracy - down to the final score and individual player statistics."
Anyone staying up late for it? - I will be ;D
I actually think the Colts will win by around 17 points, I hope i'm wrong as The Saints winning would be great for the sport (they've never won the Superbowl) and great for the city after Katrina, but the Colts, in my opinion, will be far too strong.
Kinda lost interest after the Vikings went out but I'd agree with you. Heart says Saints and head says Colts.

With you on that, Favre's proper rolled back the years this season, shame he couldn't have one last crack at Manning, would have been fantastic.

I'm hoping to watch it, I don't really mind who wins, as long as it's not too one sided.
Well, I was way off ;D
Great game though, superb start for The Colts, rushing out to a 10-0 start, then Manning didn't touch the ball for about 70 minutes.
Half time show was amazing but then The Who are always amazing.
Onside kick off to start the 2nd half was a massive call but it paid off for The Saints.
Both teams went toe to toe for the majority of the 2nd half including a great 2 point conversion from The Saints. Porter picking off Manning late in the 4th quarter sealed the deal, SAINTS BABY!!!! ;D
It was a good game, that two point conversion and the onside kick were great but that interception return was the highlight. I watched it on the BBC 'cos I don't have Sky Sports and just before he intercepted it the BBC commentator in the studio was commenting on how it had been an error free game and that Manning could now drive them for a touchdown etc. Next thing... BAM, interception return for a TD! ;D
what a good night, drank a crate of stella and have had 2 hours sleep so i feel .... what's the word; shitty >_<
I also played Rock Band (which is awesome as a full band) and MvC2 (a great pass the pad game) before and after, PEW PEW!
I only had one beer, thought if I had any more I'd fall asleep. Did have a couple of red bull though!!!
Even Master Chief is a Saints fan, I bet he's still partying right now :)
