Over the last few days I've put in a big effort to play games from start to finish. I've played some games that I've had for the better part of a year (And in the case of Halo 3, I first started playing it way back in 2007 and finally finished the day before yesterday) and I've been managing to finish a game every 24 hours, or thereabouts. Now comes the part where all I have left are games that aren't all that good, but which I've paid money for and therefore HAVE to play. So, once I've finished Dante's Inferno, which I'll be starting in the next few hours I'll play the games listed on this poll in order of most votes to fewest votes. So, come on guys, tell me what to do, and I'll blindly follow your orders.
GO!
It's got to be Gears.
I would say ew, but that's pretty much the entire point of this thread >.<
Splinter Cell, then Gears 2 :)
none of them, trade them in and get a proper game ;)
Nier, so you can tell me if its worth playing... :)
Only Splinter Cell and Gears 2 are PAL games, there's nowhere to trade in the others, sadly.
And Luke, Nier is most definitely and completely and utterly not worth playing. If you have more than 2 brain cells, they will melt. They WILL melt.
gears
I like the way you think, Lego. I too have an self-destructive desire to get the most out of my money, even if it means playing a game I don't like.
If I was in your shoes, I would play the game I like least first, and the game I like most last. That way the whole process would feel like less of a chore since you're gradually getting rewarded after your expectations were set so low from the previous game. Plus it means you can get rid of your least favorite games the soonest.
With that logic I vote ...
H.A.W.X
Nier 1
Magna Carta 2
Devil May Cry 4
Splinter Cell: Double Agent
Gears of War 2
ps. I actually voted for H.A.W.X. on the poll.
Well when you're as poor as I am at the moment you have to make every penny count. Normally I would just stick the sh*t games on ebay or something but for now I have to play them.
And I would like to play them in order of worst to best but that would mean playing two boring JRPG's in succession and I don't have the strength of will to put that much time into them one after the other. >.<
Splinter cell
When I started this thread I was 100% sure that Gears 2 would win the poll by miles, I've been pleasantly surprised for the Splinter Cell love. Guess I'll start playing it later today. Can't be arsed pouring consecutive hours into Dante's Inferno. It's broken me by being one massive quick time event with a bit of combat thrown in D:
amg your so picky about your games, Dante's Inferno was brill!!!
Tis what i get for having a rather small list of games i DONT love.
I'm pretty picky with just about everything. Especially if I pay full price for something, it damn well better be the best fucking game ever made. EVER. If not, then every fault is magnified by about £40 and frustrates the sh*t out of me where if I only paid a tenner I wouldn't mind so much.. And as far as DI is concerned, it would be a good game if it didn't have a quick time event around every corner. And what is up with mashing the B button to open every door, and replenish your health/mana at every fountain?
I think Red Dead Redemption, Fallout 3 and New Vegas, and Mass Effect 2 are the only 360 games I've paid full price for and come away 100% happy with my purchase and the entire gameplay experience. Especially ME2 ;D
i overlooked the B button thing and enjoyed the great scenery, fluid combat and pleasing if obvioius story. I enjoyed all the lore as well, reading all the little titbits about the circles of hell.
All that stuff is about 6 or 7 out of 10 imo. The scenery's too brown, combat is ... blegh, is the only word that comes to mind. The story is just not hooking me at all and I've not read any of the other stuff because everything else in the game is just not interesting enough for me to care. >.<
I know if I'd paid less for this the faults wouldn't jump out at me so much and I'd be able to enjoy it more. But that's my fault for being such a terrible impulse buyer.

Other than Fallout: New Vegas, I don't think I've bought a game full price in a long while (meaning, I usually wait for price drops). And somehow, I'm still developing a waiting list of games! :P
BTW - I'd vote for nCogNeato's 'game' plan...
I've tried multiple times to start playing Splinter Cell, but I cannot get into it after having played Conviction. The old style gameplay is just terrible in comparison and is beginning to ruin what good memories I have of the old SC games, so I'll be trading it in today, hopefully for The Darkness. And Nier has also been sent away for crimes against gameplay and story. >.<
I wish i'd picked Gears 2 now!!!
I played Double Agent when it first came out and really enjoyed it then, I still haven't played Conviction yet.
Gears 2 will probably be the one I play next. As sad as that is (for me)
I would've LOVED DA if I'd played it when it first came out, I used to love the old Splinter Cell gameplay. But playing it now feels like playing MW2 and then going back to Doom 1 >_<

Doom is a million times better than MW2, not being able to jump and look up and down is awesome! :)
