Title: Championship Manager 2010
Post by: GamerMan316 on August 06, 2009, 09:14:19 AM
Eidos plans to release the newest Championship Manager on 11th September.

Championship Manager 2010 (once CM 2009) was held back to become a fiercer competitor for the management simulation crown. The result is a 3D match engine and CM Season Live feature, which downloads match data and statistics as it happens in real life.

There are wealth of minor features too: a set-piece creator, scouting networks, practice matches and better animation and polish.

The effect of these should be evident in a demo due out on Friday, 14th August. This offers over half-a-season of gameplay, and saved games can be carried into the full, retail version.

Eidos Interactive has launched a new promotion giving gamers the chance to buy Championship Manager 2010 for as little as 1p.

Running from today until midnight on September 10, the company is offering the downloadable version of the PC game on a 'pay what you want' model.

Despite the usual price standing at £29.99, this means that gamers can purchase the title for just 1p plus a £2.50 transaction fee.

According to the firm, this will mark "the first time an initiative like this has ever been tried in the video games market".

However, similar promotions have been seen before in the music industry, including Radiohead offering their album In Rainbows for download in 2007 for whatever fans were prepared to pay.

I'm more of a Football Manager man myself, but I used to play Champ Man back when 5 was around, but moved over to FM around when 2007 came out.

The new promotion they're doing sounds interesting, might be a cheap-ass and pay maybe 3 quid for it, just to tide me over until FM 2010 comes out on 30th Oct. ;)
