Let's start assembling some 4-man/lady strong teams for coop run-throughs of the Gears of War 3's campaign. Post your info here and when we get full teams assembled I'll update the post with the info.
I'll start with my times:
DAY ONE, IN YO FACE!! Ideally, I'd like to start immediately after I get home from midnight madness and play until the ending credits show... But I only want to play with a full four player strong team, so I'm willing to wait a day or two (or until the weekend, worst ever case scenario).
Shakes, I'm your worst case scenario. ;) Picking up Gears 3 on release day, but not doing the midnight insanity.
Here are the typical times I'm available. Weekends seem to be my best time for a full-run.
M-Th: 7pm(PST) / 2am(GMT) - 11pm(PST) / 6am(GMT)
Friday: After Gamenight - ??
Saturday: 10am(PST) / 5pm(GMT) - ??
Sunday: 2pm(PST) / 9pm(GMT) - 11(PST) / 6am(GMT)

Insane can't be played from the start, needs to be unlocked by finishing it on an easier difficulty first.
I'm gonna do solo first then i'll give the 4 player co-op a blast.
I have one external co-op partner so far and one unconfirmed (bloody cod) need 2/3 for horde and maybe one for camp.

I'll be getting my copy on thursday the 22nd I should point that out as well.

As I can only play at weekends that limits my options, But I will be looking for co-op partners for this.
I will be playing it asap solo , but I would be very happy to stop and play co-op with people as they log on.

Makes sense for Brits to work together due to time zones, but I will playing to the early hours so would love to group up with everyone!

Nope. Just the vanilla Gears 3 for $60. My collection was already pretty tiny, so 3/4 came to 7 games which netted me $50-something in return value. Dead Rising 2 got me the most at $11, and Crossed Swords: Hundred Years War came in a surprising 2nd with over $9.

Yeah. It took me forever to get anywhere in that game because I didn't know you had to play on both sides of the war to progress the story. I was still in the first couple chapters and I had done so many missions for the British that the entire map was red except for the castles you couldn't take.
yeh, you can play for either side, it's only when you have a full fame bar that the missions count. English won in the end anyway.

Last wednesday, sheesh where they send it from , taiwan. All the discs are made in britain. Which is why I don't understand why BF3 is not a worldwide same time launch., yet gears 3 and Skyrim are, go figure.

Got mine yesterday, I started the campaign with a friend (I was invited to play...), can't wait to play it in 4 co-op mode too!
Well, I was introduced to GOW history less than 4 months ago, played and finished 1 and 2 recently, and now I have the pleasure to get this release...and I know whats going to happen: after finishing the GOW3, I'll probably play again 1, 2 and 3 in a row :)
Yesterday I saw a lot of people playing GOW3, how can I proceed to join a session? I mean, is it polite to join any game without asking permission to? Theres a lot of options, private slots and stuff, I'm kinda lost in this menus yet :(
If it's a 360DF member, I'd say just jump in because we're all awesome like that. 8)

Who wants to nail a 4-Player Arcade Insane run-through on Tue, Wed and Thurs next week from 8-12GMT. That's 12hours to finish it off.
You must be able to do all 3 days. No abandoning us on Thurs evening.
We will get these Achievements.
5 Levels in Arcade (10G)
All Collectables; I'll have a guide with me. (4 achievements for 45G)
Campaign Insane (75G) and Hard if you havn't got that (50G)
All Campaign in Coop (50G)
We Few, We Happy Few (50G 4P Coop)
Award Winning Tactics (25G) Insane Onyx Medal
We'll also be able to work towards the Force Multiplier and Number 1 medals with respective Achievements. So atleast 200G.

If we can batter the game on Tue and Wed, we might get the Thurs off. Gears 3 seems much easier than 1 or 2!

I should have Insane unlocked by then..playing it like a B*st*rd at the moment.
Oh yes and Gears 3 is confirmed to be easier than 2, the settings seem to be moved down a tier. ie Hardcore is the same as Normal.
I am playing through on Hardcore after I read this article and watched the video and imo it is true...basically hardcore for Gears 3 is the same as Normal in Gears 2, just a teeny bit more intense.

Yeh i'm on Hard too, i get put down a fair bit, but with 3 AI to pick me up and the enemy AI never finish you off, unless by accident... i'm finding it comfortable.

Gears 2 was far too easy on Insane, Gears 1 was a better challenge.
i agree, but there were several spots on Gears 2 which were solid. Sires, Ice Lakes in the Centaur and Flying back to Jacinto on the Reaver..... still havn't got past the Sires >_<

I'm working on the Mutators at the moment, so when we play our Insane run we'll have things like 1-hit melee kills, super reload damage and Infinite Ammo!!
On Insane you don't go down, you just die!! oh frak! on Arcade though as long as 1 person is alive the others will respawn!! TOP DOLLAR!

That's probably harder than standard though, as if you're the only one left and they have to wait 30 seconds to respawn while the locust horde is running at you... yeah :P
On standard at least you can do a run of some on casual some on insane. That's what I did to beat some insane at least, using two controllers, one i played on casual as my guest, and my profile on insane just hid :P
Don't worry we won't need to cheat ;D :P
There should be a "Solo this on Insane" achievement instead of these easy ones.

It does seem that mixing up difficulty between the people playing can speed things along. Although not everyone will get the insane achievement, meaning multiple run throughs.. bleh!
I've played through it twice on normal plus a bit on hardcore, what's wrong with multiple playthroughs? You need to play a lot of arcade chapters to get the medals anyway.
Nothing wrong with multiple playthroughs, i've done Gears 1 and 2 probably five or six each on different gamertags, love it! :)
Finished Gears 3 on Normal yesterday, not sure whether to start on Hardcore or jumpt straight on Insane next.
I'm hoping to do the Insane playthrough with 3 other people at some point, don't think I'd be able to do it by myself and it would kill two achievements with one stone! :)
What's wrong is getting 4 people to play consecutively over a short period, took us a week to get 4 warriors together. If we get it done in one pass, all the better! Then there's more time for us to play MP
Once I'm done with Failed I can help if you need an extra Marty. I've got a fair bit free time at the moment!

Also, trying Super Reload out today and it's bloody BRUTAL!! Active reload makes your damage skyrocket and you get free ammo for the amount reloaded. This is great for the lancer which murderises everything, but weapons like the Oneshot, if you active reload you get a 'FREE' bullet!! same with sniper.
Great work tonight guys, we're well past half-way. (17/31 complete)!
We'll soon have it done, little worried about the last boss, but i think with Super Reload it will be easier than we think!
Hardest parts so far is the Leviathon in the Silverbacks and Hijacking the Barge at the top of that tower where they fire Boomshots at you, sucked! Most annoying part was where the locust are attacking the fort, right before the zerker fight. Moshi carried us through most of that ;)
We'll probably crack it tonight. What's left of Chapter 3 isn't very long and neither is 4, and 5's just basically a trip to the tower and boss battle.
Yeh, should be done tonight. Can't see any really hard bits up until the Queen, maybe the Armored Kantus parts?

I am incredibly surprised with how easy we are making it look, apart from a couple of places it has been surprisingly easy with 4 players.
Not sure how I racked up so many kills on the defense of Anvil gate. I was using a hammerburst with active reload and sitting to the left and right of each of the main doors, flanking the grubs as they ducked behind cover. I hardly got any heat from the grubs or boomers, which felt strange.
We finished the mobs off so fast that when the cut-scene activated the boomers blowing the gate apart appeared by magic in the cutscene.
I spent the first part of the fight at the back, just sitting out for you guys to respawn on me.......does anyone know if the AI works on an aggro/threat system like with MMOs or if they pick their targets randomly? Because it would be interesting to find that they didn't attack me much in the second half, because I sat out the first.

You laugh at Tickers on the lower levels, but when they are 1-hitters on Insane, when you hear them you get all panicky!!
I'm now on my 3rd full playthrough (casual this time while Nick & Cooley play on Insane), by the time I get to play on insane I'll know the campaign like the back of my hand!!! It's a shame you can't play Arcade mode on different dificulty levels, I'm not even getting the chapters for the Warmonger medal! At least I should get the 4-player co-op achievement at the end of it! :-\

Last boss was a huge pain, should get her sorted tonight.
Yeh it was late, we'd been on for 5hours plus ... was getting tedious, we'll be fresh and ready to kick ass tonight. Even if we have to do 1 person hiding on Insane, we'll get this done!!
You can use the lift that you come up in for cover, saw a vid on youtube of some guy finishing it on Insane, he stayed there for the majority of the battle and none of the guards ever bothered him, it was only when he needed ammo that he had a bit of trouble.
I've been looking at strategies and write-ups online and 'The Gazebo' seems the way to go!
There's a gazebo around the edge which you can hide behind and the Therons pretty much ignore you and the queen can't hit you, 1 hides the and the other 3 distract it and die generally. Everyone shoots though, it seems that working on the Queen and 'trying' to ignore the Therons is the way to go.
EDIT: Obviously my Gazebo is Craig's lift.

Well done guys, we finished this off tonight and the hard work really payed off as we got 22,000exp and shed laods of unlocks. I had about 15 pop-ups.

The Gazebo thing kinda works, but I get the impression that for multiplayer the Therons spawns are spread out a little more. We actually had Therons attacking the Gazebo quite aggressively at some points, unlike the video above.
Also a good tactic is not to Hammer of Dawn her as soon as she goes down, but clear up the Therons and then Hammer her so that there are no Therons at the start of the next wave.

I played some Insane difficulty coop last night with Zero, Kini, and Slamuria. It was a ton more fun than I had expected. There was lots of great frantic moments involving lambent wretches and evil, evil serapedes.

Player respawns on Arcade make for some funny situations.
Spawning in a 2 metre squared area on top of a container with Kini and Slam, knowing that 50 Formers are going to spawn in the same place was pretty amusing.
I think we finished the Chapter stuck on top of the container.
I have even seen players spawn next to Dizzy on the same part of the game. (End of Act 3)

The container spwan was pretty funny. I think all 4 of us ended up there right at the cutscene.
Insane campaign continues tonight. Last night we beat the lambent berserker. On our first try! 8)
Insane Campaign isn't that hard until you reach the end.

The final boss was hard on insane. Neato, Slam, Zero, and myself gave up Friday night after about 20 tries I think.
I'll be up for some more tries today if possible, that bug's gotta fry.
I managed to beat the campaign on insane yesterday in Standard mode with a bit of help, but I'd be up to trying to beat her again in arcade mode later today if we can get 2 other people to help out.
Have you turned any of the mutators on?
I'm going to try my luck at some Insane Arcade in about an hour if anyone wants to join me. I'll send out some invites when I get online. :)

There a couple chapters in Insane that are impossible solo ("Brothers to the End").
Then there's a couple chapters that are impossible UNLESS you play solo (The submarine to name one).

Is that right before the "Dom" scene? That's the only scene I can think of with what you're describing. I solo-ed the whole thing on Insane, but learned lots of strategies by playing co-op. So essentially, I cheated some. ;)

I was stuck at that checkpoint for hours before I gave up and used co-op Arcade to cheat my way through it.
Reminds me- I need to 4-player co-op Act I and the last Act if anyone's ever up for it. Doesn't have to be Insane, just need to get through it with a full 4-player squad.

Hey guys, I need to do campaign on 4 player, any difficulty but i need hardcore and insane cheevos, I'm on half term break next week (the joys of working in a school) so should be on most nights next week till early hours but Won't be on till about 10:30 to 11 most night as gotta wait for the missus to go bed, plus some nights might not be on depends how my little girl is for sleeping as she's got Colic at the moment. So if anyone is willing to do the campaign with us even if its a quick run thought on casual, let me know :)

I have the infinite ammo & super reload mutators, so a runthrough on any difficulty would be pretty easy.

Count on me dude! I need to start the whole 4-co-op campaign, I finished it in SP in hardcore, so if you guys want we can start it from insane (I think the achievs stacks, right?). I tried some arcade mode with randons, with was cool, but some people seems to take the game too seriously (complaining for stealling kills - WTF?), I shoot all the way I'm looking forward dude!

Man, I took 10 waves to realize what mutators really are, lol, as far as I knew mutators could only makes the game more difficulty...then I learned that I can unlock some of then :) Things that are too obvious are completely novelty to me lol, but anyway, its a ton of fun playing with you guys!!

Nice one :-) sounds good, coming together nicely, I'm out Friday night so will prob start it Saturday night about 11 so if people wanna drop me a msg if your up for it then, if we get more then 4 then we'll set up another session, play it on insane if people ok with that.
