Title: Prison Break
Post by: GamerMan316 on August 12, 2009, 09:40:34 AM
Deep Silver adopts Prison Break game

Koch Media has signed up to publish the Prison Break game that was being made by Slovenian developer ZootFly.

This had been on Brash Entertainment's books before the movie adaptation specialist went bust. We assume work stopped while ZootFly sued the defunct publisher for unpaid fees of $748,000.

Koch publishing label Deep Silver will now see the PC and next-gen game out of the door, although there's no indication of when exactly.

Prison Break, the game, follows agent Tom Paxton, who works for the shady organisation called the Company. He's sent to Fox River State Penitentiary to find out why Michael Scofield - star of the telly series - robbed a bank and got put in jail. Scofield, as you may know, had no real apparent reason to do so. Nor did he really need an elaborate tattoo inked all over his body. Oh or perhaps there is another reason why he did these things. Dun dun dun.

The story runs parallel to the first television series of Prison Break, then, and involves stealth as well as fast-paced action. And all of this, Koch promises, will be handled with "great attention to detail".

Watch out for the rapey one.

Best character in the show for me, along with Mahone (when he's a bad guy in Season 2 that is)

First Prison Break screens revealed
Five screenshots showing a prison being broken out of. Surprise!

The first ever screenshots of Prison Break have been revealed.

That's screenshots of Prison Break the game of course, not the DVD boxset.

And it looks... diverse. We have shots inside the prison, outside the prison, with police standing round, with your character in a dark tunnel hiding from torchlight. So it looks diverse but does it look good, in your opinion?

Looks interesting, similar to Batman perhaps too but more aimed at stealth than the fighting I guess.

Prison Break trailer reveals innovative 'constant hanging' gameplay

We knew a few details about the plot of Deep Silver's video game adaptation of Prison Break, but we weren't aware that the game's protagonist, Company agent Tom Paxton, was actually a chimpanzee in people-clothes. At least, that's what we're assuming from the title's first gameplay trailer, posted above, in which it's revealed Paxton spends a remarkable portion of his day hanging from pipes, ledges and elevator maintenance ladders. Check out the trailer above to see the hanging (and other stuff, we guess) in action.

By the way, if any major television producers happen to be reading this post, a show called Monkey Prison would be the greatest thing ever. Feel free to use that -- just send us an email so we can work out a royalty agreement.

Got this from Lovefilm yesterday, did part of Chapter 1, earned $1000 from fights & turned it off, there is no save option btw.  Just loaded it back up and now have no money and have to do all the story related parts again, the checkpoints in this game suck billy big balls!  Shocking.

I'm still only on the first chapter but at least i've managed to find a save point and got a bunch of achievements too, not that bad so far.
