One of the biggest stories out of today's Electronic Arts press conference was a pair of firm release dates for Battlefield: Bad Company 2. The highly anticipated sequel will be hitting North America first on March 2, 2010. A few days later, the game will be hitting European store shelves on March 5, 2010.
EA praised their upcoming war game to the highest degree, even claiming that players "will soon witness the best-in-class online warfare experience". Will it stand toe to toe with Modern Warfare 2? Only time will tell.
However, developer behind the Battlefield frranchise, DICE, is stressing that Bad Company 2 will deliver a level of destruction, vehicular warfare, squad play and open world environments that have never been experienced in a modern warfare game. There will also be new air, land and sea vehicles for players to sink their teeth into.
Customization will also play a role in the game, when players can choose from a selection of 46 different weapons and then can customize them into over 200 different high-powered firearms. There will be over 15,000 possible kit variations, so each player will be able to pick the weapon upgrades and combat enhancements that will suit their playing style.
Just six and a half short months until we can see if EA and DICE can back up their high praises on their highly anticipated game.
Sarge will be psyched for this.
Unfortunately, Battlefield was one of the games I had to miss because of time constraints. I look forward to picking it up used and cheap next year.
Bad Company is great online, we should all pick it up cheap next year and have some good Friday nights on it.

Watch out for Battlefield Bad Company 2 phishing, warns BF blog
(http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/11/battlefieldbadcompanyphishing.jpg)
DICE is letting folks know that there are currently no Battlefield Bad Company 2 Beta sign-ups, meaning that any recent invitations you may have received represent scams. Battlefield producer Gordon Van Dyke is letting the community know that any site asking you to sign up for the beta is phishing -- he recommends you "give them the middle finger."
Van Dyke notes that if players aren't reading an announcement from the company's site or official Twitter, it just ain't real. Although we're sure you savvy consumers know better in this age, game companies aren't going to ask for your social security, mother's maiden name or other standard security questions.

Just found this at the battlefield site.A week late but good news for PS3 owners.Just gotta wait for the xbox one now!
Starting 19 November 2009, PS3 gamers will be able to experience the unprecedented action, destruction, vehicular warfare, squad play and open sandbox environments that only Battlefield can deliver.
The Battlefield: Bad Company 2 multiplayer beta will feature the Arica Harbour map, where up to 24 players can compete in one of the game's four intense multiplayer modes called Rush. This new map displays a superb balance of vehicle and infantry combat, as the American assault unit attacks the Russian army base with full force, advancing further through a beautiful desert town and towards the industrial area in a desperate attempt to overtake the Arica Harbour. Heavy vehicle warfare on the first bases gradually turns into an intense infantry fight as the level progresses, showcasing this best-in-class online war experience.
I heard (rumour maybe?) that Bad Company 2 beta WASN'T coming to the 360 ???

Battlefield: Bad Company 2 won't put up a fight against XBL party chat
(http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/12/bfbc2.120809-580px.jpg)
Electronic Arts has called in another marketing airstrike against Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, hoping to pull members of its fanbase who're unhappy with its online play towards Battlefield: Bad Company 2. The previous target was dedicated servers for PC players; now it's Xbox Live party chat and the ability to use it in multiplayer.
Speaking with MTV Multiplayer, EA DICE producer Gordon Van Dyke stated, "We are ok with [party chat]. We haven't taken a stance being against it and feeling like people are cheating." Modern Warfare 2 only offers party chat support in a handful of its multiplayer playlists, ostensibly to curb cheating. But, according to Van Dyke, he doesn't "think [cheating with party chat is] that big of an issue, that I've seen, where we have to worry about that" in Battlefield: Bad Company 2.
So, is party chat (or the lack thereof) really that important to you?
Party chat sucks, it could be used to boost games though.
Latest Bad Company 2 Gameplay Trailer Has More Tanks Than ChinaIn the trailers for Bad Company 2 to date, the vehicular combat has taken more of a backseat to the destruction engine and the general feel of war. That changes today! The latest Bad Company 2 trailer is absolutely littered with tanks left, right and centre. Lots of tanks and vehicles is a good thing though... and don't let anyone tell you otherwise.
Incidentally, the level in question is a new level that DICE and EA are showing off called Panama Canal.

New Bad Company 2 MP Trailer (http://www.joystiq.com/2010/01/07/bad-company-2-multiplayer-trailer-portrays-ideal-gaming-experien/) which looks a hell of a lot better than the crappy MW2 MP and it's still a few months from release.
Note to group:
We must play Bad Company before the second game is released.
Bad Company is an awesome MP game, i will get it if lots want to play it, or make a night of it.
Sarge will be happy to know I just bought the first Bad Company.
Maybe I'll find some time to play it this Spring.
After some more Dragon Age?
I think you lot are trying to make me mad!
DICE: Bad Company 2 'reaching' Uncharted 2's graphics
Reckons game's vistas are better, though.
Upcoming FPS Battlefield Bad Company 2 is "reaching" the graphical quality set by last year's stunning PS3-exclusive Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, but it will not surpass it, developer DICE had admitted.
Speaking to VideoGamer.com, producer Gordon Van Dyke said no game can claim to better the graphics seen in Naughty Dog's Uncharted 2.
"I wouldn't make that kind of claim," he said. "Uncharted 2 is an amazing-looking game. But we're reaching that level of quality. It's going to be hard for any game to be able to make a claim that they look better. But we are getting to, I feel, that level, where it's looking very impressive. When you see it - and I've heard other people say it as well, so it's not just me - other people are saying it's getting there."
Uncharted 2, released last year, raised the bar for video game graphics, with incredible animations and detailed environments wowing PS3 owners.
But Van Dyke reckons Bad Company 2, which is our 37th most anticipated game of 2010, will surpass Uncharted 2 in one key area: vistas.
"The thing is though, we have much bigger environments. To even be close, to me is quite an honour as a developer. The one thing I did was, when I looked at their game I was like, damn them! What have they done to the rest of us? I was looking for something where I could say, okay, that we're doing better. I looked at their vistas, and I think that our vistas, because it's in game, this is actual in-game terrain you could theoretically take your soldier and walk up to, our vistas are better. Naughty Dog, if you hear this, I challenge you versus our vistas!"
With Bad Company 2 due out on March 5, we don't have long to wait to compare the two games.
Not too bothered about the visuals myself it's going to be better than the overhyped mess that is MW2, so i'll be happy :)
UK retailer dates Battlefield Bad Company 2 demo
(http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/12/battlefieldbadcompany2announcement.jpg)
UK retailer Game has listed the Battlefield: Bad Company 2 demo as starting on February 4, 2010. The demo will apparently run for three weeks on both Xbox Live and PlayStation Network. Although these details have yet to be confirmed by EA or DICE, the information seems rather specific and comes from a major retailer.
Bad Company 2 loses smooth tunes, keeps hardcore explosions
(http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2010/01/badcompany2sgh2580.jpg)
During tonight's season premiere of Gametrailers TV, EA's Battlefield: Bad Company 2 was at center stage with first footage and details of the game's single-player experience. The episode revealed the original B Company would return, with players reprising their role as Private Preston Marlowe. The single-player story, which takes players from Alaska to South America, sees the rambunctious squad attempt to locate a devastating weapon system the Russians have uncovered.
Of course, destruction once again plays a major role in the game, but sadly the smooth soundtrack that accompanied the original game seems to have been replaced by a generic "epic" score. Hopefully it'll be the least of our concerns when the estimated "10 hour" experience lands on consoles and on PC on March 2, 2010.
According to the episode, a new multiplayer demo will land some time in February (perhaps the rumored demo date is accurate?) When contacted for an actual date for the new demo, an EA representative told Joystiq details would be revealed soon.

Battlefield Bad Company 2's Single-Player Will Be A More Serious Matter
(http://cache.gawker.com/assets/images/9/2010/01/500x_bc2.jpg)
We already knew that EA believes March's Battlefield Bad Company 2 poses a threat to Activision's Modern Warfare series. In terms of multiplayer, they've made the case. For single player, they're finally getting specific.
Developers from EA's DICE studio, longtime makers of the Battlefield series, told Geoff Keighley on the seasons premiere of Game Trailers TV that the campaign will last 10 hours, reuniting the lead characters from the first game, but putting them in a more serious situation. The game's producer Patrick Bach promised a similar scale of action as what's been shown for the game's multiplayer. Points of emphasis continues to be that players can use the vehicles they see in the game and blow up any building.
The game's executive producer, Karl Magnus Troedsson, referred to the division of labor on the single-player and multiplayer portions of Battlefield Bad Company 2 as "a 50/50 effort."
In December, EA CEO John Riccitiello told Kotaku that Bad Company 2 is part of EA's effort to reclaim some war-game glory: "I'm not saying it's going to happen tomorrow, but in the way that Activision sort of alternates sequels of Modern Warfare and Call of Duty and owns the leadership position in FPS [first-person-shooter], between [EA's] Medal of Honor and Battlefield, I want it back."
Karl-Magnus Troedsson, Executive Producer of the Battlefield series, has told OXM that Bad Company 2 will have free DLC.
Troedsson revealed the information when asked about the possibility of there being free DLC for Bad Company 2.
"There is definitely a solid plan for what we're going to do post-launch with this product," he replied. "We haven't announced all the details about it but yes, there will be free stuff for it, we really want to take care of people who buy our games. So yes, there will be free stuff. We did quite a bit of free stuff in Bad Company 1 as well.
"People need to be aware we're a business, we need to make money, so there will be some things you have to pay for but we will work hard to find balance in between those so people will get what they think is worth their money. I'm pretty sure people will be happy with it."

Will do later.Loved BF:BC 1 and BF 1943. Should have good ripples coming from this one?
I finished DLing the demo last night, can't wait to try it later tonight.
I'm gonna download the demo at some point today, everything i've seen of it so far has been excellent & it looks like a COD beater, it won't sell as many copies obviously but it certainly looks like more fun.
On an initial quick game,it is basically the same as no.1,but a whole lot better.
The thing I loved about this game was the fast frenetic game play. This hasn't changed and to those that havn't played the first will get a bit overwhelmed by it.
The player is bigger than before which was one of my gripes from the first game, and the weapons are more realisic.
For example,if your sniping from a fair distance, then you'll see your round droop after a while. Not like in MW2 where you can safely snipe from 5 miles away and not experience any corliolis effect.
I loved the first game and this is going to take up a lot of my time. Also, bear in mind this is a demo so expect some more polish when it's released.
Nice little review there Sarge :)
;D
BF: Bad Company 2 has WWII level
DICE is sneaking a Japan-based World War II level into Battlefield: Bad Company 2.
That's according to an ESRB rating for the game, which read: "In single-player mode, players conduct missions on an unnamed Japanese island during World War II and then move into the modern day through jungles, deserts and snowy terrain."
We heard last year that various weaponry from Battlefield 1943 would be supported in BFBC2.
These discoveries may point to no more than a scene-setting flashback. EA may also be testing the waters for a Call of Duty: World at War-like romp.
Battlefield: Bad Company 2 will be released on PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 on 5th March.

Bastards!
With increased destructive power, Battlefield: Bad Company 2 blows a hole in the sides of most modern warfare first-person shooters.
Multi-player action across massive maps is Battlefield: Bad Company 2's speciality. Join a squad, jump in any one of 15 vehicles including tanks, helicopters and ATVs, and tear across the warzone.
In Battlefield: Bad Company 2, that warzone changes dynamically during each game – as explosions realistically tear holes in walls, opening up new firezones, and even tearing buildings down. That piece of cover won't necessarily always be there for you.
On top of class-leading destructive power, Battlefield: Bad Company 2 offers increased squad support – keeping players in the action. Plus massive customisation and progression options: 40+ weapons, 15 gadgets, 13 different character specialisations and 50 ranks to climb to become the king of the battlefield.
The Limited Edition includes 6 early unlocks
4 Vehicle Warfare Unlocks:
1. Improved Vehicle Armour – An Up-Armour package mounted on all vehicle types decreases the effect of both explosive and penetrating warheads, significantly improving vehicle survivability.
2. Vehicle Alternate Fire - Additional weapon packages mounted for the driver of all armoured vehicles, greatly expands the range of targets the vehicle can successfully engage and destroy.
3. Vehicle Motion Sensor – Upgraded Sensor to locate enemy units in direct proximity to the vehicle.
4. Tracer Dart Pistol – Launched by compressed air, this magnetic dart attaches to any vehicle surface, allows friendly shoulder launched rockets to lock on to and track moving targets even beyond line of sight.
2 Classic Battlefield 1943 Weapons:
5. M1A1 Submachine Gun – Popular with Paratrooper and Commando units in WW2 for its rate of fire and stopping power the M1A1 is still seen in the hands of paramilitaries today. Reliable but heavy this classic weapon is still a powerful force in the hands of a Battlefield Veteran.
6. M1911 Pistol – Adopted in 1911 by the US Army the M1911 saw heavy service in WW1, WW2, Korea and Vietnam. Highly customised M1911 are still favored by Special Operations forces for its reliability and the power of its large .45 calibre round.

Bad Company 2 getting DLC on day oneEA has confirmed what we always expected: that those who originally purchased Bad Company 2, instead of getting it used, will be getting a free map pack on day one, which includes two new maps. EA has stated that an additional free map pack for the original purchasers of the game will be getting another free DLC map pack later in March, but if you bought the game used, you'll have to pony up some cash to get it.
Good thing about the Battlefield games, they do like giving away free maps etc.

At 3:00a.m. PST, 11:00 a.m. GMT the systems will be reset on all Xbox 360 systems. This would be largely due to there being 400% more traffic than any other Battlefield game ever made. Do you think they should of seen this coming? This was posted on the Official bad Company 2 Twitter page:
"Today there will be a restart of our BFBC2 Xbox 360 systems at 3:00 AM PST, 11:00 GMT. Please spread the word."
What are your thoughts on the situation?
Not a problem for me as i'll only be getting it this afternoon :)
LOL! I didn't even make it to Rank 1 so I'm not so fussed :)

Awesome for the Bad Company franchise. But these little blips push me further away from supporting 'dedicated' servers. Pretty much every EA multiplayer game that's released over the past year(s) has had one issue or another.
I'm still looking forward to playing it. I still haven't unwrapped the first Bad Company, which I want to play before the sequel.
I was playing this yesterday and the servers went down!
Anyhow,at least I managed to crack on with the single player campain.
I was fairly irritated when the servers went down.
It's back up now and I can continue running people over on a jetski.

Battlefield Bad Company 2 grenade spam PSA looks a bit familiar(http://assets.vg247.com/current//2010/03/FRAGS.jpg)
Remember when Activision tried to tickle our funny bones with that "F.A.G.S. (http://www.vg247.com/2009/10/31/modern-warfare-2-video-blows-up-cole-hamels-with-grenades-sponsored-by-f-a-g-s/)" Modern Warfare 2 PSA video last year? Remember when the gaming populace - like many tickled people do – kicked, flailed, and screamed until Activision pulled the video (http://www.vg247.com/2009/11/02/infinity-ward-pulls-controversial-f-a-g-s-modern-warfare-2-trailer/)?
On a maybe possibly somewhat related note, can you guess what the latest Battlefield Bad Company 2 trailer's about?
Yeesh. Kicking Modern Warfare 2 when it's down? Maybe. But who ever said Modern Warfare 2 didn't deserve it? Certainly not me ;D
DICE are awesome, i still have the 3 piss take videos last year. The one where sweetwater's running down the street with the Gears advert music and a Metal Gear Solid, hide in a cardboard box.
that was funny :D

Love those vids, I think I posted them in our Gaming Videos thread a while back, just checked, half way down page 2 :)
I'm waiting for this whole thing to turn into some kind of DICE / EA vs. IW / Activision gang war.

Anyone else notice all the detailed stats that is now on Stats-O-Matic's website? (where there BFBC2 sig sign comes from)
That's pretty cool.
They was on the official battlefield 2 website, but have since dissapeared.Strange!
I notice when I go to that stats site for the sig, my stats are updated there, but not in my sig (for the last two days) and when I look at sigs on that site, they come up as a red 'x'.

the medics weapon isn't really that good. best starting with engineer or assault and firing in short bursts. also don't run and gun if you can avoid it, easiest way to get taken out. Try and stay low and in cover as much as you can and pick off the enemy that way. :)
good words of advice. also, knife open doors and sneak upstairs of buildings to look for snipers gazing out windows and knife'm. If I'm not protecting a flag or trying to claim one, I'm usually prowling for campers.

While playing the demo, I'm pretty sure I got most of my kills by knifing / melee. It's just so fun.

DICE doesn't want to charge for Battlefield:BC2 maps; EA can't comment
(http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2010/03/battlefieldunshoppedcover580-1269792334.jpg)
A producer at DICE has apparently stated that the company doesn't want to "ever" charge for Battlefield: Bad Company 2 maps. According to CVG, DICE Senior Producer Patrick Bach told Xbox World 360 magazine, "We don't ever want to charge for our maps and insisted to EA that this attitude was crucial when it came to keeping our community happy and playing together."
Joystiq contacted DICE to confirm the quote and was told by a representative, "Unless they aren't standard maps we won't charge and there aren't any in the plan that would cost."
Unfortunately, Electronic Arts – publisher of Battlefield: Bad Company 2 and ultimate decision-maker in this situation – wasn't willing to go that far, telling us, "We can't comment on the future. But we'll have more details on our DLC plans shortly."
Is this the thing where VIP member get it for free?
It's a good thing they don't want to charge, I'm not complaining.

Does EA support in-game ads like Ubisoft does?
If so, I say just sell some adspace in the maps. Free maps = larger audience = marketing gold. It's a win-win-win situation.
The world will be so much better once I'm in charge. ;)
Yes if your are VIP you get Map Pack 2 free.

I will try that, although, if i become anymore awesome the game might break again.
The medic class is fun especially if use the lightweight perk , becuase then you move more quicker and plus it makes the machine gun a lightweight weapon.Especially useful when hiding for attacking players and mowing them down from behind.
Morning all,
On Battlefield in the Stats page where you can see your rank mine is Lvl 19, but when I click into leaderboards and check against my friends it says I am a Lvl 20.
Is it just me or is anyone having any problems with ranks not matching up correctly? ???
I just checked mine, my sig say level 19 (correct) but the stats page still says 18.
Hmmm that is weird.... I wonder if I will unlock the cheevo for lvl 22 earlier ???
I might have to make a purchase soon. I enjoyed the first so it makes sense. ;D

Battlefield: BC2 console update coming May 11
(http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2010/01/gambfbc2limiteded580.jpg)
Recons! Medics! Assaults! Lend us your Engineers! If you're still adhering to your nightly routine of playing Battlefield: Bad Company 2 until your eyes refuse to stay open any longer, you'll be pleased to hear about some upcoming changes coming to console versions of the game. Unless, of course, you actually like the game's unkillable, super overpowered deathcopters. In that case, you're about to be sorely disappointed.
Changes coming in the update -- due out May 11 via Xbox Live and PSN -- include a few balance tweaks of most weapons, a slight nerfing of the attack helicopter and an increase in the velocity of tracer darts, making it easier to stick 'em to that aforementioned helicopter. Joy!
Check out the full list of changes after the jump.

* Increased the base range of all Automatic and Semiautomatic weapons for more consistent close range combat.
* Slightly increased the damage of Semiautomatic rifles over long range for more consistent damage output.

DICE Announces Bad Company 2 Onslaught DLCAt EA's spring showcase that is taking place in London today, DICE announced its first piece of premium DLC for their recent shooter, Bad Company 2 - a co-operative mode called "Onslaught."
Onslaught, which is coming soon says the Swedish developer, is an all new co-operative game mode that consists of 4 objective based missions on some of the game's current crop of maps - Valparaiso, Atacama Desert, Isla Inocentes and Nelson Bay.
The co-op mode will pit you and up to 3 friends against an onslaught - get it? - of enemy controlled AI troops as you tackle various objectives on the map, with a whole host of vehicles to take down from tanks to armoured boats.
All of the maps have been redesigned to fit with the game mode in mind, including such things as sandstorms, night combat and more to keep them feeling fresh.
Onslaught will also include 8 new achievements/trophies and will offer players of all mindsets - both casual and hardcore - something new, whether you just want to play for fun or compete in the online leaderboard.
Super,great!
A little more on "Onslaught" :)
DICE has announced a new, four-player co-op pursuit for Battlefield: Bad Company called Onslaught mode.
This is "coming soon" to PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Marketplace. The content will be paid for, according to a post by DICE associate producer "Bazajaytee" on the EA forums. He didn't say how much, simply answering "nope" when asked if the content would be free.
Onslaught mode will not be available on PC. "We aren't ruling out Onslaught on PC, but at this time we are researching how to bring it to PC without affecting players who don't have Onslaught or their own server to run it on," said Bazajaytee. "We haven't given up on a PC version of Onslaught as I say, just we have a lot things to work out first."
What's the point of a VIP pass if all the content pay for anyway, except some variations....

The latest patch for Battlefield: Bad Company has been detailed.
The update "is due in the very near future" and will include various fixes for multiplayer problems, the main one being that Garand stats didn't track.
Now they do and they have also been other minor tweaks and changes to the game as well. Here's the full list:
•Kit images added in spawn menu
•Fixed the "required rank" field on the unlock items specified on the W&G page
•Added M14, NS 2000 and G3 in-game unlock pop-up when the requirements for unlocking them are reached
•Added a server side check of the veteran status of the players
•Award bugfix for "Win all 4 game modes" (it had marksman headshot as a dependency)
•Garand did not track anything, Thompson tracked Garand
•Increased the penalty points for TeamKill and TeamDamage
•Increased the reward points for Objective Actions (Flag Cap / Assist, Arm / Disarm / Destroy / Damage / TeamDestroy / TeamDamage)
•Fixed veteran rank number not showing up in ingame scoreboard
•The southpaw setting now works for the anti-air gun and the Stationary AT
•Collectible weapon messages fixed
fantastic to see the developers taking the time and effort to fix online problems so quickly, unlike a certain game involving chainsaws. Not played it in a while might give it a blast on sunday night

Revealed at EA's conference, Battlefield: Bad Company 2 is set to get a brand new expansion pack later this year, entitled Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Vietnam (no prizes for guessing the setting!). The DLC has been confirmed as a multiplayer-only expansion, and has been described by EA like this:
Fighting as either U.S. Marines or North Vietnamese Army (NVA), the hostile combat terrain of the Vietnamese jungle is brought dramatically to life via the Frostbite engine with a host of authentic vehicles and weapons with which to engage the enemy. The punishing jungles, powerful air invasions, and guerilla tactics of an unpredictable enemy deliver non-stop action in this sandbox environment, a signature design style of the award-winning Swedish studio.
The Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Vietnam digital expansion pack takes all of the intensity, action and addictive gameplay of Battlefield: Bad Company 2 and ups the ante with enhanced persistence, new weapons, vehicles, unlocks, awards and achievements. Featuring four new maps playable in classic Battlefield modes including Conquest and Rush, Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Vietnam will be available worldwide this winter for the Xbox 360. Price will be announced at a later date.
Price is still yet to be confirmed, and the release date is just a vague Winter. But what we can deduce from that Watson is that it's no small DLC pack but rather a hefty, sizeable add-on that will take a couple more months to finish off - which sounds great if you ask me!

It may be glitched, Dark and I couldn't get trhough one of the levels last night because the flag wouldn't "capture" no matter how many enemies we killed!

Ok, i am having the same problems with this game as i had during the beta. After 15 mins online the sound goes completely has anyone else had this problem? I tried googling the problem but not found any answers yet. I have installed the game on my hard drive, should i try playing off the disc?
Help :'(
I also noticed that once the sound goes it affects the dashboard sounds too. The only way to regain any sound is rebooting ???

Not had that problem at all, and I've played it both from the disc and from an installation. How puzzling? ???
no probs for me either but then again it's not on my hard drive. No idea what it could be!
Its still happening.
I will uninstall it and try from disc :-\
Never had that happen to me either, sounds dodgy.
There might be a few answers here (http://forum.ea.com/eaforum/posts/list/423873.page;jsessionid=EBE987B54D597E3CC10D73BF0F863D4A), a lot to trawl through but hopefully it'll help you out.
The old standby solution to all game glitches I encounter:
1. If the game is installed on my HDD, delete the game (4-8GB file)
2. Clear HDD cache.
3. Start game from disc and install latest update when prompted.
4. Exit back to Dashboard and reinstall disc.
This method has remedied a lot of games for me (Oblivion, Left 4 Dead, Splinter Cell, etc.).
Another possible solution:

I had my sound cut out at one point. I went into the menu and changed it over to Home cinema then back to war tapes and it worked just fine.

I will try those Neato, thanks for your time but i am pretty convinced it may be my xbox. Its a 3+ year old arcade and after friday night when it kept freezing up on gears 2 i think its dying. I will try this game on my dads xbox which is only 5 months old just to prove the theory. What do you think, worth trying?

Bad Company 2 Ultimate Edition turns up at retailers
An Ultimate Edition of Battlefield Bad Company 2 has been outed on US and UK retailers' websites, suggesting that EA are set to re-release the game with additional content.
According to a listing on ShopTo.net, Bad Company 2's Ultimate Edition will include Battlefield 1943, 'Limited Edition Unlocks & VIP Downloads' and the recently released Onslaught mode.
But don't expect a budget price for the re-release. According to ShopTo, the RRP will apparently be set at £39.99.
The Ultimate Edition has also been spotted on Amazon's US website, where it's available for pre-order on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 for $59.99.
We've contacted EA for comment.
UPDATE: EA has confirmed to GamerZines that Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Ultimate Edition will launch in the UK on September 2nd, complete with the content listed above.

Does anyone know how I can get the code that came with the game, I brought a pre-owned copy and it now seems that I can't play a whole lot of maps.
i'll see if i can get you one

Excellent single player game, i really enjoyed it. Also in my opinion the best online shooter available at the moment, i have never come across any cheats or glitchers at all and it's brilliant fun. And it's certainly not died online, far from it.

I agree 100%
Why Bad Company 2 has failed (http://www.battlestrats.com/home/_/general-news/why-battlefield-bad-company-2-has-failed-part-1-r366)
The game needs some NEW maps, not just varients.
And it needs an easier way to get the demolish 2.0 achievement, it's seriously pissing me off, it's the only one I need >:(
I agree with most of that article, but i would also add that a large percentage of online gamers are idiots/kids who love to camp, spawn kill, cheat their way to victory and be a 'lone wolf' by getting as many kills as they can for themselves even if it's to the detriment of their team mates. That's partly the reason why modern warfare 2 is at number one and why cod 4 and gears 2 are still above bad company 2 even though their public matches are inferior. I would LOVE some proper new maps for BC2 instead of variants, but i would still rather play the same old maps on BC2 over and over than play any of the newer cod games or even gears 2 (unless it an xp event :P)
Here's hoping EA and Dice get their act together and give us some BRAND NEW maps soon eh, cos BC2 really is my favourite online shooter. ever. :)
Still not tried this online yet, except for that one time we all attempted to get that achievement, which was also the first time i'd played it at all!!! Think I might trade it in today.

I suppose I should, it's just whether I can be bothered to be honest. :)
Been playing this lots since i got it last weekend and really enjoying it. I have noticed the same maps coming up over and over again already but that is probably because i have been playing squad death match and squad rush. Sorry i didn't join you guys Friday as i was with three others that i play regular with and we have all started playing this at the same time. I think when you have a full squad all communicating and working together there is no greater experience on line.

I am up for some bc2 this week. I may be on tonight after the footie if you fancy a blast JT, Craig?
i can't play this week, i have to watch my sisters as my mum and dad are off out for their 25th anniversary tonight. tomorrow i'm going out, wednesday is fight night, thurs im going out again, fri is game night, sat is chat night and match of the day and sunday .... i might collapse!!
on another note i will probs be in the chat room all night tonight if you can handle the randomness
I'm gonna finish Sniper Ghost Warrior first and then maybe i'll have a blast for a while after the football.

I have! Have you tried getting these demolition kills? As soon as a building starts to make the noise e of collapsing unless you're a real noob you leg it! Nobody's stupid enough to stay inside! And when you do get one, it doesn't register on your stats even though the screen says you have! >:(
Bloody stupid annoying achievement! >:( >:( >:(
Then i say screw that achievement, is it really worth the hassle?
It's the only one I don't have. I hate having 1 achievement to get! All the time I had 3 it wasn't bothering me, but after I got the other 2 the final one becomes like a Holy Grail! >:(

I agree with JT, 1 achievement left is not allowed you've gotta make the effort.
I have 1 left on splinter cell conviction and 1 left on gears 2. They will be done in time. It's just that sometimes people go about these achievements like its going to work or something "i have got to get it done"
Wasnt it JT that recently got fed up with gaming recently??
Well it may happen again JT, play for fun mate ;)
You probably think i put extra effort into getting to 100 on gears 2 but it wasnt like that. It just happens that i like to play it a lot and i still do, seriously2.0 will come eventually but i gotta string it out to april 2011 aint i?
markav has developed a healthy balance of endulgence and productivity. HURRY! Where's that f***ing tranquilizer gun?!
he hasn't the single mindedness of level 100 on Gears, he's started to think on other things. >_< you may need the BIG tranquilizers to take down 'The Brain' :P :P

cool man thanks for the info and yes i will vote for it..............later guys
takes a lot of effort to get a public game together where we're all on the same team. Aslong as we have 8+ we will do Private game next time, will be much better.
yes sir,,,, i am up for that it would be nice if we can get a poll to see how many we can get to sign up

EA will spruce up Battlefield: Bad Company 2 with a handful of older Bad Company maps.
VIP Map Pack 7 will contain 'Oasis' and 'Harvest Day' from the original's multiplayer, while 'Cold War' and 'Heavy Metal' will be plucked from Bad Company 2's single player.
No word on when these maps are due but as always with Bad Company 2 DLC, it's free for those who bought a new copy of the game and have their VIP pass but not for those who picked it up second hand.
Brilliant, bout time i got some extra buck for my £10 VIP pass
Hi all
Not sure if this is the right part for this but I just got an email telling me there are 4 brand new maps available now for bfbc 2 multiplayer, free to pc and console VIP members.
I'm not sure if you knew already but if so my apologies, I might have a look as its quite a good game
Thanks for the update, Vid.
I went ahead and merged your post with the BC2 thread.
Like Vid said it's MP Update 3 and weighs in at 1.64GB. Containing 4 new maps, some maps from BC2 SP and some from BC1.
THink i might hit this up over the weekend, start playing some more with Vietnam on the way!

May have to give this one another go then!
Free maps! awesome!!
Bad Company 2 Vietnam - Battle Hastings Map has been unlocked.
Well, the PC community managed to unlock the map on December 30th, but the Xbox community still had a fair way to go, having totalled approximately 49 million team actions at the time of writing.
EA, however, were pleased with everybody's efforts, and were especially pleased with the success of the add-on, and Map Pack 7, which both released last month. As a result, EA have enabled the Operation Hastings map for all platforms as a gift for the new year.
So thanks to PC gamers, console gamers get to play Hastings in half the time!!! super happy awesome time.
I have a really funny feeling there may be some updates waiting for me next time I boot this one up.......
You downloaded MP Update 3 yet?
