Microsoft announced back at E3 that they'd be releasing two free games a month until the end of the year. At the conference the only two titles announced under this plan were Assassin's Creed II and Halo 3, (Fable III was said to be the launching freebie earlier this month and should be still available for free right now).
A few weeks later now and Microsoft have announced how the releases will work.
As per [Joystiq (http://www.joystiq.com/2013/06/21/xbox-live-gold-free-games-pinned-for-1st-and-16th-of-each-month/)]:
QuoteMicrosoft pinned monthly dates to its Games With Gold promotion, with the Xbox Live Gold freebies due on the 1st of 16th of each month. As revealed during Microsoft's E3 press conference, Gold subscribers gain access to two free Xbox 360 games each month until the end of the year. Fable 3 was the first offering, with Halo 3 and Assassin's Creed 2 already announced as July's dynamic duo.
"As our way of saying thanks for being part of this community, we're giving all qualifying Gold members two free Xbox 360 games each month for the rest of the year." reads the promotion's site. "Each specially selected, fan-favorite game will be available to download only for a limited time, so grab them before they're gone and keep them no matter what."
Thanks for posting this. i wondered why fable 3 was free.
I'm gonna predict right now that every free game they give us i'll have already played!

So far I'm 2/3 - I haven't played Fable III or Halo 3. Yeah, I know, pretty blasphemous... :P
Halo 3 and Assassins Creed 2... only played both of those for about an hour each before I got bored, but if they're free I'll give them another go. Shame I'd already got Fable III

September's Xbox Live Games With Gold Revealed: Super Time Force, Monaco and Halo: Reach
Microsoft has revealed September's Games With Gold, with Capy Games' rather excellent retro-styled side-scrolling shooter, Super Time Force, heading up proceedings for the month on Xbox One, while scaly on-rails blaster Crimson Dragon returns for another month.
On Xbox 360, meanwhile, team-based, top-down, stealth puzzler Monaco: What's Mine is Yours will be the first to arrive on September 1st until September 15th, before Halo: Reach takes over from September 16th, taking you back to the story of Noble Team.
Here's the details:
Xbox One
Super Time Force ($14.99 ERP): Available from September 1-30 on Xbox One
Crimson Dragon ($14.99 ERP): Continuing from September 1-30 on Xbox One
Xbox 360
Monaco: What’s Yours Is Mine ($14.99 ERP): Available from September 1-15 on Xbox 360
Halo: Reach ($24.99 ERP): Available from September 16-30 on Xbox 360
Really? What crap!

The Xbox one games they give away are real turd. That's all I've got to say about that!
November offerings have been revealed -

Then on October 16th, Xbox Live Gold Members can download Red Faction: Guerrilla ($19.99 ERP) for free through November 30th.
Trailer:
Was just about to post these, i'll give Volgar the Viking a blast, might download Red Faction to finish some achievements, enjoyed that first time around, won't bother with Viva Pinata.
That Volgar game was giving me "The Adventure of Link" flashbacks with that trailer...looks worth a spin.
BTW - I don't know how it'll work out, but am grabbing XB1 downloads through xbox website, since I've not purchased an XB1 yet - but plan to. Looks like it adds it to the queue for future download. ;)
Haven't played any of the Pinata games, but will give it a look just out of curiosity and if Guerilla is a fraction of what Armageddon was, I'll bury some time into it.

Tomb Raider, BioShock Infinite free via Games with Gold in March - report
Plus: Rayman Legends on Xbox One.
BioShock Infinite and Tomb Raider will both be free to download in March on Xbox 360, courtesy of Microsoft's Games with Gold scheme.
Xbox Live Gold subscribers will be able to grab Tomb Raider from the 1st until the 15th March, then BioShock Infinite from the 16th until 31st.
On Xbox One, subscribers will get Ubisoft's excellent Rayman Legends for free over the entire month. Indie action game #IDARB will also remain free.
Details of March's Games with Gold offerings have yet to be officially confirmed by Microsoft but appeared last night on the company's internal ExpertZone site (thanks, NeoGAF (http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=998726)).
The site also revealed that, as of March, more than 100m free games will have been downloaded through Games with Gold.
To celebrate, Microsoft will be giving away double the free games in April - presumably four on Xbox 360 and two on Xbox One.

Too little too late for me (as far as the 360 games go), but a good offering for anyone who's not played them yet. May download TR and Bioshock Inf. as a backup to the physical copy.
Bio shock oh yes! Tomb raider, nah!
Been doing this through [xbox.com (http://www.xbox.com)] but you can now apparently do this through the Xbox 360 Dashboard. Works well for those who haven't gotten on XB1 yet, queue up all those free GWG games and when you get the console, you'll have stuff to play post download.

Quality line up for April.
Maybe not the best months line up, But I only own Peggle so i'll take it.
Already own three of next month's free games so just XCom for me.
REMINDER: Today's the last day to pick up Super Meat Boy[XB360BC] for free - Goat Simulator[XB1] continues until the 30th, The Crew[XB1] and Xcom: Enemy Unknown[XB360 BC] begin on 16th to the 30th.

Already have 50% of those...but on the good side, that keeps my building list of unplayed games from growing exponentially.
Meh. Nothing to interest me.
October Games With Gold announced -
Not the best month ever, hardly surprising seeing as October only has Gears 4, Battlefield 1, Titanfall 2, Mafia 3 etc coming out.
Already got I Am Alive and The Escapists, definitely give the other two a go though.

True, hadn't thought about that - no sense in giving away big games when the market's gonna be trying to deal for cash... I Am Alive is ok, a bit slow at times but decent enough for a few hours of play. Haven't played any of the others though.
Seems we missed this month's GWG listing, I'm sure most have found what's being made available (until Sept. 30th), but if anyone hasn't - here it is:
Already got escapists and I am alive to. Not going to bother with the others. Waiting for gea no sorry, BF one. ðŸ˜,
November's Games with Gold
Well, looks like I'm gonna go 50% in on next month's offerings. Still not bad - picked up Murdered: Soul Suspect earlier for $5.00 and Blood Dragon was definitely a good pick up a while back.
As a reminder - Far Cry: Blood Dragon and Murdered: Soul Suspect are now available to download for free!
Finished Force Unleashed when it first came out, definitely give the others a try.

Never played it actually, so looks like next month I'll be adding more to the backlog...good problems to have, but definitely reconsidering sales in lieu of these monthly turnouts.
As a reminder - Last day to pick up some of these free titles:

Confirmed - :) - not a bad set, have already played three out of the four, but it's a solid group still.
Finished all four but might download Ryse to finish off some achievements.

June's Games With Gold Announced
This is a limited thing - not tied to the GwG program -
Get Rare Replay and other digital goods free for using Microsoft's Mixer service this week
No Time to Explain, DLC for Minecraft and Halo Wars 2 also thrown in.

From experience, the Mixer service doesn't require you to use it for a specific length of time for this offer to kick in, think I used it for a total of about 15 minutes watching some E3 streams.
Just a reminder -

As always, i've got or played three of the four games on offer, so just Oxenfree for me.
LocoCycle is free on the Indian Xbox Store, just log in on the Indian site as you would your normal region and click get. :)
https://www.microsoft.com/en-in/store/p/lococycle/br3fwzmh6zcz?wa=wsignin1.0
BTW - have heard lots of complaints about this month's line up. My guess is that upcoming holiday sales may have had something to do with this being a weak offering. Still tho, Tales From The Borderlands is a shinny nugget of a game in this line up.
May not balance out the rest....[spoiler](https://i.imgflip.com/w8juw.jpg)[/spoiler]
Happy with Trackmania Turbo as i've almost bought that a few times in various sales. Tales From the Borderlands is excellent. Rented Deadfall on 360 a few years ago, it's not very good, haven't played Nights but i'll give it a go.
Just a REMINDER- Last Day To Grab Some Of These -
(https://i.ytimg.com/vi/P05ttb7rZ90/maxresdefault.jpg)
Looking forward to playing tales of borderlands.
December Offerings: Not sure what 50% of these are, but...free!?!
Already got Back to the Future in a previous sale, decent Telltale offering, not as good as more recent stuff. Vermintide is basically Left 4 Dead with rodents instead of zombies, definitely worth a go, not too fussed about the 360 offerings this month.
January's Offerings -

Good choices on 360 but i've already finished them both, already got Zombi and never even tried the first Van Helsing when that was free ages ago.

Yeah, looks like some to add to the backlog, but personally nothing that itches to be played right off the bat. Army of Two was a draw back in the day, but last I remember the game no longer supports online Co-Op.

Yeah that's right, only split screen now.
Meh. Nothing interesting here people.

Actually, Split Second wasn't too bad, IMO. It sort of sated the need for a Burnout-type of racer, (Burnout) which I wish would get another proper release. Haven't played Crazy Taxi since Dreamcast days so can't really say if it's aged well. AC Chronicles India...not sure, played China and wasn't too thrilled with it. Shadow Warrior...don't know a thing about TBH. All in all, not a stellar month, but hey...FREE! ;)
Still a load of sh*t though.

Though, the one thing I wonder about is whether there's going to be a decline (or further decline, if preferred) in the types of games that GwG gets as the library for the Game Pass grows. I don't suspect that they'd let a game that might be part of that program drop into the GwG selections. I smell a conflict between the two at some point.
I think this is the first time I haven't played any of the four games, looking forward to trying Superhot.
Again, looks a load of poop to me!
April's Lineup -

Fully agreed on Vanquish - rented it one week a while back and was pleasantly surprised at how well it played - IMO Vanquish was really under-rated. Being that MGS V was Kojima's last work on the series (despite what Konami did to the box art) - I'll consider myself interested in Phantom Pain...gonna have to be really bored to try the other two though, but hey, free...right?
Not part of the GWG program, but Free is still Free...(even if on a short-term basis)!
October's Offerings - via Major Nelson on Twitter...get the feeling Microsoft's attitude towards the GWG program is now pretty much....
So true! I’ve felt that way for ages. Especially when you see what Sony are giving away with the PlayStation !
Not interested in Overcooked but Victor Vran is a very good action RPG apparently, also has a Motorhead expansion so might be worth trying, already played the 360 games.
BF1 going on means more cannon fodder which is good ;D Giving us an 11 year old game (Assassin's Creed) is a strange decision but still a great game. Dante's Inferno is superb for anyone that hasn't tried it, not sure on the other.

Will second that...not sure how it holds up a few years down, but I'd say it's as close as Xbox has to having a "God Of War" type of title (despite it not being exclusive).
Well, this is kind of a neat thing to have! - TA has compiled a list of currently free Xbox One games - these aren't part of the Games With Gold program, but just a scattering of games that are apparently free or Free To Play (contingent to region).

Makes it almost seem like Xbox was a bit sheepish about releasing this video...only released about an hour ago.
Not surprising, woeful!
Xbox is trying...despite the re-hashing of Tekken Tag Tournament 2 being kinda slyly dropped in there... #) - either way the mantra remains - "Free is Free"... ;)
