How many people can you have in multiplayer L4D? I haven't got it but I noticed it's a tenner cheaper in Game at the moment.

£24.99 on Game website. I can't really afford it, but I have some free rentals so may get it on friday.

For Versus it's 8, the usual 4 v 4, one side are the infected where you get to be the Special Infected, the other side are the Survivors, then it switches, so you get to play as both, loads of fun either way  :)

Hope so mate, it's a great game, i think you'll love it, shame Valve pulled the demo a while back otherwise you could try it before you rent it.

Sambo is the King of getting the witch's attention  :)
she's actually pretty soft if you've got the auto shotgun, you can kill her in one or two shots pretty easily, but if she gets you then it can be pretty nasty!

Me too JT, and it's a shame I don't have the funds for it now, cos I think £24.99 is a one week offer. Hopefully it will come down again when L4D2 comes out.

I got it for £32 off Shopto about a few months after release, it was the cheapest i'd seen it anywhere then a few days later Play.com had it for £25, bloody typical, great game though.

I regularly play it offline with my mate, we play everything co-op and it's the 2nd most played game we've had (after Army of Two). Plus it's great online with the fahrenheit crew!

EDIT: We made everyone buy Orange Box last week, now everyone's off to buy L4D. Kudos to everyone who buys a game just to play with us!

I wouldn't worry about it mate, we still play COD4 which is nearly 2 years old, and eventually my persistent voting for Gears 1 will pay off & then we'll be playing a 3 year old game  :)

I'm really sorry to Tara, Sambo, Kuddles and Failed for dipping out of the game so early, but to be totally honest, I was so utterly disappointed in "this year's best online multiplayer shooter" I wanted to chuck the box out of the window. I can't believe I've wasted £25 on a shooting game where there's no shooting. Ooooh, I've got a tongue, or some vomit!!! WTF!!!

Clearly I'm missing something here, I just didn't get the point of it, especially the respawning, or lack there of! Why do you need to find somewhere to respawn yourself?

Should I run through the single player first 'cos clearly the multiplayer makes no sense at all.

Anyway, apologies again... now where's my Gears Of War 2 disc?

Marty :(

PS does anyone want to buy an almost new copy of Left 4 Dead, only used once, £25 ono?

Geez, what a grumpy bastard I was last night!!! Had a bad day yesterday, work in the morning was busy, then I played so badly in my Company's golf day in the afternoon that I finished last, and to cap it all off the meal at the end was rubbish. Was really looking forward to my L4D experience and it just didn't live up to my expectations... but that's no reason to give up on it after one play.

Sorry guys for my rant above (I still don't understand the re-spawning thing but hey, ho!).

And now for my second apology...

Sorry to Tara, Crak, Failed and Neato for falling asleep during Gears, my wife came and woke me up from the sofa at just before 4 AM!!! How embarassing  :-[

Oh well, on the plus side I did get my 1 point achievement on Football Manager 2006 to get me back to a nice round 5 pts... score whore, me, never  ;D

L4D also has an excellent online co-op mode, where your not a zombie and you just shoot stuff.

Some rounds you survived longer than us on Gears, they were saving you for dessert.

I went to sleep at 5am, when i realised the first game of the NFL season was on i ended up watching the end of that... very tired now. Where'd i put my case of redbull.

The last thing I remember was watching my rotting corpse on the bridge having been chainsawed. Must have put the controller down and just gone straight off! Oh well. One game of Submission this morning took me past Level 28 so you guys must have done a few more levels after I entered the "World of Nod", thanks for the extra XP  ;D

As for L4D, I am going to stick with it, I'll try single player a bit first just to get a "feel" for it, I just probably wasn't in the right frame of mind last night to try it for the first time. Same thing has happened to me with Street Fighter IV, bought it a couple of months ago but couldn't get on with it at all, but it was around the time my wife wasn't very well after her first operation. I must go back to that and try it again :)

Oh, did that start last night, what was the score?

10-10 after fulltime, Steelers won in added time 13-10. Was a good game, highest TV ratings in 7 years too.

Although Pittsburgh should have won in regualtion time, but one of their receivers decided to go for a touchdown and fumbled 5yds from the endzone after a huge 30ft pass, all he had to do was fall over and they could have rushed the last 5yd's.

I'm glad too, and Tom Brady is fit again so the Pats will hard to beat once more.
If Sky are showing 3 games on Sunday like most of last season, you can watch a the first game, record the 2nd while we play Horde then watch the 3rd game.

the pats will be doing alot better this yr, but i dont see them beating the steelers. rothlisberger is too clutch in big games. i really think that itll be the giants and steelers in the superbowl, but its way too early to make any real predictions.
