I used to have a guy on my friendlist that played Pinball FX constantly. He finally 100% the game, which I think is near impossible.
I've personally never played it. If someone gave a hearty recommendation for it, I may consider.
I've got it but I haven't played it much, I don't think it's worth the points to be honest, but then I wasn't very good at it.

But i like pinball. you start with just 3 tables but there is a free download for a pirate themed table and other tables are just 200 points each. i have them all now, the downloadables are - street fighter 2, rocky and bullwinkle, and a spooky theme but there will no doubt be more to follow in the new year if not before.

I had no idea it cost 800 points to begin with, since I got it free for preordering Fable II.
800 MS Points for gambling game that already built into Fable II ... that's rediculous. It should have been 400 points, and now discounted to 200 points.

Xbox Live's Deal of the Week is none other than Call of Duty 4's Variety Map Pack, Major Nelson reports. We've seen this with car dealers a million times. With next year's model -- Modern Warfare 2 -- about to hit the show floor soon, Microsoft is looking to get as much as it can out of the older model.
Still, if you're happy fragging folks in the older model, then you may want to check out the Variety Map Pack -- which has been discounted by half to 400 MS points ($5). Though odds are, if you care about this dinosaur of a game still, you and a majority of the other 13 million or so players probably already own this content.
The Variety maps are great though, The T.v broadcast map is the best in the game.

I've never played it, but I've had several friends tell me it's better than GTA4 (which I have also not played). I hope next year has a few slow months so I can catch up on some past games I've been wanting to play. :'(

me too, barely played the first game.
My mate claims it's better than GTA4, but that was a bit boring for me, i like linear games more than random roamy ones.
the majority of my mates prefer SR2 to GTA4 too, much more fun is what they always say, gonna have to play both those games at some point.
You've not played it because the achievments are time consuming! You could easily play for 3 hours and not unlock a single one!

I haven't even looked at the achievements, but from what i've played on the first game, you're spot on, only got 3 or 4 in the time i spent on it.

Sonic 2 soon to be Xbox Live Deal of the Week
According to Sega, the XBLA version of Sonic the Hedgehog 2 will soon become an Xbox Live Deal of the Week. The deal is scheduled to begin November 30 -- just in time for the holidays -- and will see the game's price drop from 400 Points ($5) to just 240 Points ($3). That's an absolute pittance for one of the best Sonic games out there, and with Project Needlemouse still a long way out, you'd be hard-pressed to do much better (seriously).

Future Deals of the Week revealed
There's a very special one lurking in Microsoft's line-up of temporary price-cuts...
Microsoft has revealed that next week will see THREE Deals of the Week take place.
See The Future, the DLC for Fable II, will be drop from 560 Microsoft Points to just 400.
Retro re-imagining Death Tank will see its price fall from 1200 Microsoft Points to 800.
Best of all is that Peggle, which normally costs 800 Microsoft Points, will have its price slashed in half to just 400! In addition to the Peggle Nights DLC that was released this Wednesday, there's no excuse not to indulge in one of XBLA's finer titles.
In addition to that, Games on Demand will be bolstered by three new games on the same day -Saints Row 2, LEGO Indiana Jones: The Original Adventures and Battlefield: Bad Company.

You fire balls at Pegs and the ball bounces down to the bottom ... simples. squeak.
.... or you have a screen which is filled with pegs, all are blue except for 20 orange pegs, you have to get rid of all the oranges pegs by firing balls at them and then the bounce down to the bottom. You have a score, multiplier and get free balls for getting certain points in one shot. So the less balls you have, the more points you get, but less pegs to hit to get the extra lives.
Seriously, download the demo, ignore the sickly sweet look to the game and just play this, it's pure arcade addiction!
Also the last game i told everyone to download last time was the awesome Splosion Man, which everyone did because it's awesome ... this is better!

No, it's not a game about blue aliens playing a relaxing round of golf, but rather a golf game involving adorable Xbox 360 Avatars. Normally 400 MSP ($5), it's supposed to be marked down to 200 MSP ($2.50), according to the Major. However, checking the XBLM listing, it looks like the actual price is a paltry 160, also known as two dollars.

To be honest, I have no interest in it.
From what I understand, card games like Pokemon and Yugioh are sort of the dumbed-down versions of Magic The Gathering. Magic The Gathering is like the grandfather of that genre of game, so if I was to play ANY of them, I would play Magic.

i don't have the orange box so i bought portal still alive. never played it before now and i must say it's awesome! Yes. You can buy the game on xbox.com by clicking the link posted on the first page of this thread. Then after you confirm the purchase, go to your "Download Queue" on xbox.com and remove the game so it does not automatically download the next time you sign into Xbox Live.

Thanks for the info. I wasn't trying to get a 'free copy' on an xbox in case anyone was wondering :), however, now that I reflect upon my gaming of years gone by, Duke Nukem is the game in which I broke in my oldest boy for multiplayer co-op and death match (that and Quake 1 and 3, Quake 2 scared him with the rabbid dog looking things, lol), I think I'll see about purchasing this under his account as well as mine and see if I can get mine out of the download que as mentioned until my box gets here.

Follow this link I posted. You can buy the game while signed into your son's console, redownload onto your console, and you can both play the game together without buying the game twice.
It's not cheating. It's 100% legal and sanctioned by Microsoft. It's just a little too much of a hassle for most Xbox Live gamers to take advantage of.

Fortunately I always saved the game at the beginning of any mission so I was able to go back to the start, but I lost several hours of game play. There's also another one that's very easy to miss which you can't get back to after a certain point in the mission (like two of the Bobbleheads too) so,as previosuly stated, make sure you get a list of where they all are beforehand.
I've just finished all the Fallout dlc. I really couldn't be bothered with the hunting achievements, so i never got the bobbleheads, steel ingots, or alien recordings.
The bobbleheads weren't actually that hard. I found about 10 or 11 by myself, and then looked up where the rest were. Fortunately I hadn't missed the two that were missable!

Looking down that list, the other one you can miss is the Energy Weapons one, so read up about that one as soon as you get to Raven Rock.

The XBLA version plays just like the xbox version, it's basically Doom on steroids, wave after wave of enemies especially in the later levels, Sam also has a Duke Nukem thing going on, constantly saying funny stuff while he's killing things, and also whistling a few familiar tunes too, great game. :)

All of last years Summer XBL titles are half-ish price.
Trials, Splosion Man, Shadow Complex, Turtles ReShelled and MvC2
1200msp's are reduced to 560 or 540, i can't remember and Splosion Man is down to 400.
I assume it's in anticipation of this years summer of arcade.
Still no Sports special and still no E3 special, although if they run the E3 at the same time as DotW .... that's a lot of cut-price gaming.
I have heard good things about Splosion Man I might check that out if it's 400MS

Chimes a good game and an easy 200G... definately worth 240msp. Wasted 5-6hours of my life.
I'm gonna grab PB Winterbottom and Poker Smash maybe ... Puzzle Quest 2 is out Wednesday. I thought i did well last week not buying anything ('cept the Defense Grid DLC) not it looks like an expensive week :/

I bought Lazy Raiders when it came out, i had a Wednesday off and wanted a new game.... that was ages ago and it was recently a DotW game too.
Although i think of it like buying a new game, if you bought RDR for £40. In 6 months it'll only be £15/£20. Same with Arcade games.
I'm not buying PQ2 because i have 90 boxed games and about 70 Arcade games..... that's too many for anyone in my opinion and i'm gonna have to cut down >_< *sad face*

you know you won't. I have bought loads of games recently and not started them, ever since i got my super elite. I find myself wanting to fill the hard drive now i have acres of space, and with all these great deal of the week offers i just can't resist!
luckily i don't have to play Naughty Bear and can concentrate on the awesome Singularity. Then i have 1 more free rental from Blockbuster then it's onto my massive back catalogue of gaming

Pedantic but the Katamari DLC has been 80msp for absolutely ages?? weird one to come back round as news. Also Bullet Witch costumes were free anyway?? maybe
I will be gettings Lost Odyssey, PGR4, PSU (even though i won't play it), Blue Dragon Shuffle Dungeon and Perfect Dark Maps (if free) .

I got the Lost Odyssey and PGR4 DLC and i also got After Burner Climax which had no gameplay and simply involves bouncing a plane around the screen whacking fire buttons. Enjoyable for an hour or 2.

I worked my through the entire list and sorted out what I'll be buying.
Lots of great Rock Band DLC in my list. It's unfortunate I don't play Guitar Hero, there are some pretty good ones in there as well.
Finished all the achieves in Afterburner Climax, now onto the Awards which are much harder and require you to complete the game atleast 10 times. Although you also need 10,000 kills and my best is 950 in one game, so maybe a few more.

I downloaded it yesterday and me and dfusioness gave it a blast last night. It was great fun and we laughed out loud quite a few times at some of the things Cartman says while you are playing. The cheeves are fairly easy, it has avatar awards as you can see from my cartman hat. The other award is a kenny hoodie. It also has loads of unlockable clips from the tv series and when the single player/multiplayer campaign is finished there are bonus challenge levels. Leaderboards too. An absolute bargain at 400 points in my opinion, get it now!!

You only get the hat i'm afraid. I bought the t-shirt myself a while ago for 80 points, because i love zombies and the t shirt says zombie lover on it. I thought i would wear it with my cartman hat because it's red and cartman wears a red top. I'm sad like that. I can't wait to unlock the kenny hoody though, you get it for completing the campaign i think.

No it doesn't but i played the first piece - the battle of forli, and it was brilliant. I wanted to play the memories in order so after i finished memory 11 rather than skip to memory 14 i bought the memory 12 dlc (battle of forli) and played that. Then i thought i would wait until bonfire of the vanities (memory 13) went on deal of the week, which it has, so i can now play that and then finally play memory 14 to complete the story. The fact that the dlc has no cheeves put a lot of people off buying it but not me, i love the game that much :) And they are only 240 points each now, bargain.
Since I haven't played ACII yet, no achievements = no purchase for me.
If I end up loving ACII with all of my heart once I've played it, I'll kick myself for not buying the DLC.

Started playing DA again and have downloaded the Warden's Keep for 400msp. Gonna play it now.

I'm tempted, but I'm going to hold out a little longer before buying the Dragon Age DLC. I just noticed a listing for an "Ultimate Edition" releasing in October that may include all of the DLC. If so, I may just buy/rent that instead for the content.
The DLC sale lasts until August 22nd so I'm in no hurry. Hopefully more details for the "Ultimate Edition" will be released before then.
Wardens Keep was pretty fun but quite short, i got lots of good equipment though.
Quite liking DA now i've turned it onto Casual from Normal, i was just sick of getting randomly raped by stupid AI that would only target the party leader ....

Oh dear, I rang my local Tesco who said they still had some in stock, so since i knew my dad was taking his dog for a walk in the approximate area I asked him if he'd pop in and get one for me. Turns out they sold out last night!
Oh well, probably for the best, I only thought about getting it because of the points deal. I'll just hire it as originally planned.
I read that every Tesco store got 500 copies of the game along with loads of MS Points, 3 Month Gold and £20 PSN cards to cover the deal. The Chorley one was packed, there was only around 50 people in line when we got there, by the time we got served there was probably another 100+ people behind us with people still coming in, regular shoppers kept looking at us all funny, idiots! ;D
Chester had plenty of stock in Tesco, i got the 2100msp with mine for £42.50.

Well, this wasn't quite how we wanted to kick off the New Year, with discount Avatar items and not a lot else, but that's the first Deal of the Week for 2011, for better or worse. And there's quite a mixture of different items, with seemingly no common theme tying them together. Go figure.

Major Nelson has revealed what we can expect in terms of Xbox Live deals, Games on Demand and arcade releases for the next couple of weeks.
On top of that, there will be a free Xbox Live Gold weekend starting January 28 and lasting until the 31st.
The eternal dichotomy that is Activision and EA are helping you ring in the new year (or, at least, helping you recovery from said ringing with cheap games) with some week-long deals that begin January 11 for Activision content and January 18 for EA content. i tried the demo and i wasn't overly impressed, it's not a bad game though by any means and if it's 400 or less in the deal then i would say get it. (after you have tried the demo)

I heard the Indie Avatar Golf game was better. I haven't played either, so take it for what it's worth.

This is one I considered picking up a few weeks ago because I have fond memories of playing it in the arcades. I'm glad I waited.

I bought it, and played through the first chapter.
It's definitely worth 400 MSP, but probably not more. The voice acting is rediculous, but the overall action and theme is well worth the price of admission.
The controls are a little awkward in confined spaces. I remedy this by crouch-walking.
i just bought hydro thunder and hydrophobia. as an aside i also got the pinnacle station dlc for mass effect 1.

I would recommend the HydroThunder DLC, but I also have to admit that I have never played the other two games. ;D

Lara Croft GoL is a great game, i was suprised a little at how well it was done. I had a worry it would have been a lame cash-in on the name, but it's a top game.
This one of the Summer of Arcade games, yet again that Arcade showcase delivered. I havn't tried Monday Night Combat or Castlevania, but the other 3 games (Limbo, Lara and Hydro Thunder) are among my 3 favouritist Arcade games.

This is a premanent price, Lucas Arts said in their DLC Release Statement that they were releasing the DLC for $1. The price isn't a mistake.
The DLC is very good too, you get to kill some iconic Star Wars characters .... and Ewoks. ;)

"Peggle Deluxe" is just what some sources refer to it. I think it's the official name of the current version of the game (with title updates).

With the exception of the beginning of the game where they make you ride a horse for 10 seconds, I never once used a horse in Oblivion. I liked navigating the side of cliffs and sneaking up on people. You can't do that on a horse.

I think it's basically a way for the developer to bundle up certain DLC into a package (often times before that DLC is even released) - at a cheaper price than individual purchases. Basically locking you into getting DLC that may not exist at the time the Pass is released.
Pre-ordered DLC packages is my best guess as to how to explain it. Could be totally off base, but that's been my interpretation.
