I've changed it for you mate :)
As for the game itself, i'll be getting the game but as i've said many times before, i'm hoping theres a lot more variety in the missions, the first game while being technically awesome, for me it got very dull about half way through because you had to keep repeating the same missions over and over, initially the combat was pretty good but then it turned into one of those dodgy martial arts films where theres 20 guys around you but instead of them all just rushing in and killing you, they all take turns in attacking making it extremely easy to defeat enemies.
If these two things are changed, i'll be very happy.
Thanks bud and yea totally agree it did get dull after awhile.
I have already pre- ordered mine. I thouroughly enjoyed it. I never found it dull or boring but I can see how some people would.
OMG I am super gay for the first Ass-Ass-In Creed right now. I think I played it for 12 hours straight yesterday.
I haven't preordered part 2, since the 'bonus' preorder item doesn't interest me, but I will love it once I have a chance to play it.
Dnt get me wrong i loved the game but i've never completed it as i get bored of run here get ur mission run there kill him run bak get mission and so on! But goin 2 start workin on it when get xbox as i want to complete it b4 i buy number 2.
For the first hour or 2, I hated it. Everything frustrated me, the controls, the drunks/beggers, etc.
But after my first few assassinations, I started to really get into it. The story is predictable, and sometimes the AI falls short. But the details and precision put into the worls is amazing, and the leveled-up combat is a lot of fun.
When the game starts to feel a little tedious, I'll walk into a crowd of 20 guards and punch on in the back of the head. There's nothing more impowering than brawling with 20+ enemies for 10 minutes, then standing on top of a pile of their dead bodies.
Eurogamer have a nice little developer diary (http://www.eurogamer.net/videos/assassins-creed-2-devi-diary) online, check it out.
just seen the same dev diary on another site, where it said it will be the first of six.

i have just watched the e3 gameplay footage/walkthrough and i must say its looking excellent. I was gonna buy the first one but i was put off by alot of you saying it was a bit boring, plus the review i read was luke warm. The second one looks too good to miss though, i think i will skip the first one entirely unless i find it really cheap.

Don't be put off by what some of us (myself included) say mate, i found it repetitive but I still finished it, neato is loving it at the moment and I know Tara really likes it too.

I started playing the assassins creed 1 last night and I think it's freakin' awesome! :) I really can't wait for the sequel now.
I found the first 1-2 hours of it were ok, but after that it got much better. Some people who don't like it only ever play the first hour or so.

Agreed. I did not like it very much at all when I started playing it. Once I started the real assassinations and my brain finally wrapped around the controls, I really got into it.
ps. I really enjoyed the horse riding. I think my inner Barbie Dreamgirl started to show.

Ubisoft has revealed the first details of the Assassin's Creed movie series, announced at its very long, boring, E3 conference.
It's called Lineage and is made up of three 10-15 minute shorts that serve as a preview to Assassin's Creed 2, with the story based around the father of main stabby man Ezio.
The cast are the same people working on the game - they're being voice-recorded and motion-captured - and they're going to be largely recorded in the game, too. Special effects studio Hybride, bought by Ubisoft last year, will be creating around 30% of the settings but 70% of them will be taken directly from the game.
It's also being overseen by the same man as the game, Ubisoft Montreal boss Yannis Mallat. "The film series is a part of the puzzle and there's no way we could have achieved that without making sure the story at the center was made by the script writer of the film and the game," he told the LA Times.
There isn't a fixed release date at present, but all three will be made available ahead of the game's launch in November. Digital distribution is mentioned, so they may well finish up on Xbox Live at some point.
here are some of the pictures from the movie shorts

I found it very repetitive too, but also finished it. There where some scenes and stuff that i found pointless, and the story I´ve never found interesting too much Da Vinci Code for me. But that might be an educational damage on my side since anyone else kind of like the story - give it a go.

Dont think I'll be stumping up £70 for this, dont really care luch for the figurine or the DVD soundtrack. I wouldn't mind the bonus missions though but I'm confident M$ will stick them on the marketplace as DLC about a month after release and thats good enough for me... :)
3inch Figurine ... i'm sold! :-\
I wish I knew what the bonus maps added to the overall game.
If the sequel is anythign like the original, a couple extra building are nothing more than eye candy. What purpose do they serve?!?!
It frustrates me because I'm torn between my love of the game, and my bonus item requirement for all preorders. I'll only preorder a game if it gets me cool freebies. I just dont' know if these Assassin's Creed 2 freebies are "cool"?!?!
??? :-\

Victory lies in preparation - Get all available upgrades for Ezio
I know the Kill X Brutes and Travel X kilometers will be some crazy high number (... f*cking flags/templars).
The Use all weapons sounds way too easy, unless it's a trick. In which case ... "f*ck your hidden-impossible-to-unlock weapon".

I canny wait, i'm getting all giddy like TJ meeting Mr Downey.Jr
Scottish writer Danny Wallace will voice a new character in Assassin's Creed 2.
Talking to Shortlist about the role, Wallace will voice Shaun, "a kind of historian."
"I thought he was just a bog standard nerd, but turns out no, he has got a darker side, which is cool," he explains. "He chooses mainly to sit at a computer and study the history of Renaissance Italy and impart information, sometimes slightly sarcastically, to our hero. So that's what I've been doing."
Sounds worryingly like Zip from Tomb Raider. Let's hope that's not the case.
I want this game so badly it hurts me inside.
Interview: No demo, no motion control (ever)
We've just caught up with Assassin's Creed 2 creative director Patrice Désilets and had enough time in the sausage dodging schedule to ask him a few questions. Here goes.
Will the ending be easier to understand, because nobody really got the first one unless they read this incredibly popular Xbox World article? (http://www.computerandvideogames.com/article.php?id=175552)
Patrice Desilets: It's my first sequel and it's fun because we get to explain some stuff, so yes, we're going to explain more. Assassin's Creed II picks up where the first game left off - it's literally an hour after the ending scene in the first game. I don't want to spoil everything from the franchise, because it's a big story we want to tell.
AC needed a sequel to make sense. We're making sure the ending is not as obscure as the first game. It's something that we wanted to try - the game that never ends.
So with this big story to tell, is the plot for AC III already written?
Desilets: It's somewhere in my brain. You'll see with the PSP and DS versions, it's the same story and the same universe. We're not just building these games and hoping they work. We've thought it all out.
I think it's reductive to call it a trilogy these days. It's a brand, it's a universe we've built and we're using it in any medium we like. Even in film.
I have the universe in my head, and it's up to me to express that in all these different mediums. We can do so much more than only three games.
How could motion control affect games like Assassins Creed?
Desilets: I have a problem with all this. For me, it's gimmicky. I don't know, I feel too old to get into all this. I feel weird in my living room waving my hands around. I'm just too much of a gamer, maybe. I just like to press buttons. But maybe it's the future, maybe I'm totally wrong.
You know, a lot of people finished Assassin's Creed. That must mean we have a good control system. It wasn't too tough. I think we got a good balance of control there. So I don't think about motion control. If it becomes the norm, I'll go there.
Motion control is billed as a way of making games simpler to control and to understand because pads are too complex. So are you saying it's more about the way people make their games' control systems?
Desilets: We sold nine million copies of AC on PS3, 360 and PC, so there are still a lot of people who can use a controller. So motion control means my mother can play, but so what? Don't get me wrong, I have a completely different view from the rest of the industry. Business is still good with the controller.
I've played Zelda on Wii and I had a problem waving my hand all the time. It was fun for half an hour, but not five hours at a time. That's my own disgruntled opinion, and if it switches, then I will change also, but I don't want to cross that bridge just yet.
You've already made one of the most top-end games of this generation. Do we need PS4 and Xbox 720 any time soon?
Desilets: Not yet. Let people buy their HD TVs. You know those little consoles still have a lot of power left in them, so not yet, we're not ready. Why not let this generation have a ten-year life?
It's so much easier - when you know the console, you can go beyond focusing on the technology of it. You can start thinking more about the story of your games and other things. It's great when you know the machine you're working on.
What about Assassin's II DLC?
Desilets: I'm not allowed to talk about that.
Okay. What about a demo?
Desilets: I don't think we're going to do a demo, I'd like to do a demo, but with the tight schedule we've got, it's not planned.
I think it's reductive to call it a trilogy these days. It's a brand, it's a universe we've built and we're using it in any medium we like. Even in film.
oooo a Film

I just drooled all over my keyboard. Those screenshots look mighty tasty. I simply can not wait another day for this game, I am about to burst. Looks like i will have to go flag hunting on assassins creed 1 in the mean time. I hope they have got rid of the flags for the second outing though, it's so annoying especially when you only have a couple left to find in a particular area. Needle and haystack spring to mind.

Assassin's Creed 2 ain't afraid of no Call of Duty
Though scores of once-Holiday releases have scattered in fear of the oncoming force of nature known as Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, one title has held the line: Assassin's Creed 2. A juggernaut in its own right, this Da Vinci-inspired sequel has defiantly remained in its original November 17 release date, just one week after the launch of Infinity Ward's megablockbuster.
Assassin's Creed 2 creative director Patrice Desilets recently stated in an interview with VG247 that Ubisoft isn't afraid of the latest Call of Duty title's proximity to its own holiday offering. He explained, "the first [Assassin's Creed] game we released two weeks after Modern Warfare, and we still sold 9m copies." That maybe true, but the first Modern Warfare didn't feature 50 Cent. You guys are totally screwed this time around.
Well I decided that I will buy Assassins Creed 2 but not Modern Warfare 2. So thats one sale done :D

The first game was an excellent game to get a respectable 850+ on, shame the final achievements were the 'nut grindingly hate filled sh*t collect me a flag-athon' type.
Assassin's Creed 2 dev: "I'm like Hideo Kojima"
Patrice Désilets, Creative Director at Ubisoft Montreal, has confessed to being 'stuck with Assassin's Creed' for the rest of his life.
"Maybe, but I don't think so," Désilets replies to OXM when asked if he'd ever consider doing an Xbox Live Arcade title. "I'm stuck, I'm like Hideo Kojima, I'm stuck with Assassin's Creed for the rest of my life, like he's stuck with Metal Gear Solid. But I love it because every time we change settings, we change historical periods, it's like 'woo!'"

Ubisoft has released a new trailer (http://www.oxm.co.uk/player.php?mode=article&id=394) for Assassin's Creed 2.
There's a lot of new stuff uncovered with this gameplay trailer though we're not entirely convinced by the song of choice - did the residents of Venice from way back then have Justice blaring out from their stereos? We weren't around back then so we have no idea how far their love for French dance music extends. Who knows?
In any case, enjoy the awesome gameplay footage!

I'm not too bothered about ODST, so may pick it up pre-owned a few months after release, i do want Modern Warfare 2 but i'm not paying the RRP, so i'll seek out some deals for that, if I don't get that then i'll most likely buy Left 4 Dead 2 in November instead.
Yes, L4D2 will be a buy for me. That's my 3 games then. Plus whatever comes on XBLA (Sonic and Knuckles).
I'll rent everything else.
It's not as bad as last year, the amount of quality games that were released was ridiculous. PoP, Dead Space, Fallout, Gears 2, Fabl... wait that was sh*t!

Assassin's Creed 2 producer sees franchise expanding beyond a trilogy, maybe into WWII
(http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/10/sebastienpuelrollsdeep580px.jpg)
When asked whether or not the Assassin's Creed series would be getting a third installment, Assassin's Creed 2 producer Sébastien Puel thinks the answer almost goes without saying. "I'm often asked if we're doing a third game after ACII... I mean, we could do 35 of these," he (hopefully) exaggerates to Xbox World 360 in the mag's latest issue (via CVG). When the game's creative director told us the second game would be ending with a cliffhanger, we didn't know he meant we'd have to play 35 games to resolve it -- that's approximately 35,000 assassinated fools, by our estimations.
Explaining his hyperbole further, Puel admits that a female assassin isn't out of the question, even confirming "We've had discussions on that very topic." Still, the Ubisoft producer doesn't want to switch the protagonist's gender without a good reason. "World War II, the economies in England and France were run by women because the men were off fighting ... we don't want to just decide we want to change and have a female hero, as the first inspiration is always the time period." To read the full interview in its original context, pick up the latest issue of Xbox World 360 (if you're in the UK, that is).
Ubisoft: Assassin's Creed 2 is 'awesome' -- there's no room for bad games
(http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/10/ac2-102209.jpg)
Fittingly, there is only one big-name, multiplatform game comfortable in the shadow of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2's release next month: Assassin's Creed 2. While it's not the only game willing to test its selling power against the potential "bestselling title of all time" -- Left 4 Dead 2 seems aptly titled; and New Super Mario Bros. Wii should collect coin on its platform -- Assassin's Creed 2 is easily November's second-most significant multi-console release.
When pressed for comment about AC2 going up against MW2 and the possibility of his game (ha!) surpassing Infinity Ward's shooter in sales, Yannis Mallat, CEO of AC2 developer Ubisoft Montreal, admitted to VideoGamer.com that he was not "pretentious" enough to predict a sales outcome, but added, "I can certainly say there is no room any more for average or bad games, but there is still a lot of room for awesome games, and that's what Assassin's Creed is."
Internally, Ubisoft has set its standards high -- two years ago, the first Assassin's Creed moved 2.5 million units in its first month at retail to become the fastest-selling new game IP in U.S. history. Of course, two years ago, Call of Duty 4 was claiming records of its own. Ubisoft would not dare pit AC2 against MW2 in an outright sales challenge, but, in embodying its franchise's ethos, with a little patience, Ubisoft will almost certainly enjoy successful sales of AC2 over the course of the holiday season. After all, who among us has ever been content to settle on just one awesome game when there are many to enjoy?
SOOOOO MANY GOOD GAMES
gonna try and rent most of mine though. Save some pennies that way.
Assassin's Creed II: More than 80,000 Spoken Lines
So the British Board of Film Classification recently revealed that Assassin's Creed II will feature more than three hours of cut scene footage. These aren't the silent film days, of course, so they'll need some a lot of dialogue.
On Friday, Azaïzia Aymar, the Ubisoft community developer for Assassin's Creed II, tweeted this fun fact: "AC2 will feature 7 spoken languages for a total of 87,206 lines of recorded voice dialogue."
Of course, driving up the total is the game's multilingual support, but even at one-seventh of the total, that's still more than 12,000 lines per version. Impressive, but sounds like a spit in the ocean next to The Old Republic's script, said to be the equivalent of 40 novels.
Assassin's 2: "Adultery, sodomy, prostitution, and r*pe"
ESRB details AC2's "sexual overtones" and "strong profanity"
Ubisoft isn't messing about with Assassin's Creed 2 as US ratings board ESRB highlights sex scenes and some pretty lairy language in the stealth sequel.
"The game contains strong sexual overtones," says ESRB. "During one 'seduction mini-game,' players are able to press buttons to kiss a woman and remove her dress; with the woman's back facing the camera, the two characters lower to bed and blow out a candle," it describes, adding that some scenes take place in brothels.
"The dialogue contains the following sexual references: 'So the whip or the paddle today?' and 'Does your wife know about your page-boy fantasies, Captain?'"
It goes on: "Character backstories, narrated through still-frame vignettes, explain how villains and historical figures achieved their notoriety; some biographies include references to adultery, sodomy, prostitution, and r*pe." Missing anything, Ubisoft?
"Consumers may also wish to know that the game contains strong profanity, both in English and Italian (e.g., 'f**k,' 'sh*t,' c*zzo,' and 'm*rda'); the most explicit instance occurs when a man frantically describes a 'vision'-'I'm at the opera . . . the soprano is so beautiful . . . I'm in bed with her, she cries as I f**k her.'"
Not one for little Johnny, then...
AMG! games nowadays, this'll get the newspapers in a lather. Especially now MW2's shocks are making GTA4 look like a weekend with your nan, in the park, playing scrabble.
'Twas all over the news last night, politicians tutting, mothers wailing, priests shaking their heads and a bunch of student gamers looking like tw*ts.

Renaissance era Italy sounds so romantic.
Alright!!! sounds awesome. Although its a bit unfair I cant undress a man
'So the whip or the paddle today?' lmao
I'm not gonna post the review from Eurogamer as it will no doubt include a few spoilers, so i just clicked on the last page & scrolled down to the summary, which you can see below.
Ubisoft Montreal has never been afraid to try new things, but after a few missteps with games like last year's Prince of Persia, perhaps the bravest thing it could have done with Assassin's Creed II was simply to make a classic open-world adventure, filled to the brim with things you want to do and the narrative motivation to continue doing them. The fact it's done so suggests we really should trust the studio when it says it's taken its lesson, and fills me with hope for the third game in the trilogy. In the meantime, we not only have the Assassin's Creed game we'd hoped for in the first place to play with, but one of the best open-world games of the year.
9/10
getting it :D

I think i'll wait a bit for this, not seen any decent deals for it yet, hopefully, like the first game, it'll drop in price pretty quick, hopefully!!! :)
I got it from ASDA for £37.. well worth it.. Plus more you invest "none preowned" the more Ubisoft has to play with to make AC3.. :D can't wait! Hopefully they bring out DLC to tide us over the 2year wait this time thought.. but.. the 2year wait was DEFINATELY worth it for AC2.. Best single player game from 2009 in my opinion.
Some of the puzzle bits in this game could be a game in their own right! And seriously.. I dont know how the "Average joe" will do with them.. they really wreck your brain.. Seriously!

Cool. I really want this more than ever
ACII DLC was originally part of game
Assassin's Creed II's dad Patrice Desilets has confirmed that the Battle of Forli and Bonfire of the Vanities download packs due next year were originally meant to be in the main game.
"I felt that, 'Okay, there were too many things to do and to finish.' So we said, 'Okay, let's take a portion of the game that was planned and we'll give it in DLC.' We'll remove some stress to the team while giving more to fans and people who like Assassin's Creed," Desilets told Kotaku.
"I think we gave them so much content that they cannot say that we owe them, that we didn't give them a lot for their 60 bucks," he added.
The two bonus episodes are due out in January and February for $4 and $5 respectively, and fill in the "Sequence" gap in the Assassin's Creed II storyline.
Desilets also hinted that the team may reintroduce another feature that was cut in order to get the game finished - the ability to replay any mission. "Eventually maybe we'll come out with some way to do it somehow," he said.
got it for xmas of my lovely wifey. I haven't played it alot yet but from what i have played it's AMAZING!! She got me the ltd edition version (not the box set) which includes a code to unlock bonus content! Awesome!
I'm getting it off a friend later this week, but no matter how much I like it, I won't bother with the DLC as i'll only have the game for a few days & I just don't have the HDD space for much more, i'm saving the space for Serious Sam HD & Perfect Dark.
I got the same as you DFUSE. I love it so far I have to say I want it to last forever

I'd expect there will be a GOTY edition somewhere down the line, i've just borrowed it so I won't bother with the DLC.
I'm enjoying what little i've played of ACII so far, still not give it a good go yet as i've been busy but should hopefully give it a proper blast over the weekend, also......
Analyst: Assassin's Creed 2 to sell 8.5 million by April
Considering Assassin's Creed 2 managed to stab 1.6 million wallets in its opening week alone, 8.5 million units sold by March isn't that crazy of a forecast. Add star talent and some upcoming DLC to give the game a second wind, and that potential sales figure seems somewhat reasonable -- even for a titlle that doesn't feature machine guns, 'nades and nukes.
When we saw Stern Agee analyst Arvind Bhatia call that very number over on Industry Gamers, we kinda shrugged and thought, "Sure, it's possible." Bhatia says Assassin's Creed 2 was initially off to a slower-than-expected start (thanks Modern Warfare 2!), but for the December quarter, its sales expectations rose "from [roughly] 5.5 million units to 6.5 million units." Thus, Stern Agee raised its sales forecast from 7.5 million to 8.5 million units by the end of March. Hey, we told you the game was good!
Between introducing the secret assassination skills and talking you through the new features, Assassin's Creed II's tutorials are good at teaching you the majority of the game's must-see features. But not all of them...
1 PLAY UPLAY
Before you begin the game make sure you sign up to UPlay by hitting Y at the main menu. You'll gain 100 UPoints for playing through the game which can then be redeemed against a new Secret Location detailing Ezio's family history and a bonus Altair costume. You'll even have change for Conviction extras in February.
2 CRACK CODES
Once you've cracked the 20 Glyphs, return to them and look a little closer. You'll soon spot hidden messages to be decoded within some of the pictures. Look for decimal, hexadecimal, binary, Morse and Pigpen ciphers online to help you out. Be warned, some of them might take a while to solve...
3 BE RUDE
If, like us, you rely on counter-attacks, you'll have spent valuable seconds waiting around doing nothing until an enemy strikes. No more: there is a solution. Press Y to hurl an insult at a foe and he'll instantly attack, which makes timing the counter a cinch.
4 EXPLORE THE WELL
Get the Architect to reopen Monteriggioni's well to add to the city value. Then, once it has been unlocked, drop down. Navigate the broken beams and posts to find two chests with florins hidden inside. It won't come near to repaying you for opening the landmark but hey, every little helps, right?
5 RUGBY TRAINING
Get ready for the most fun you can have in Assassin's Creed II. Find somebody in a crowd - preferably somebody vulnerable for added guffaws - and charge at them with RT. Make sure you're disarmed and as you reach striking distance tap B to bundle them to the ground. It'll keep you entertained for hours.
6 GO FISHING
Punch the standing fishermen at Forli's docks when they're bringing their rods back to cast a line, and they'll drop the tool onto the wooden decking. Ezio can wield it (along with a few other comedy items) as a weapon and it's surprisingly devastating. Yes, the rod is mightier than the sword.
7 BECOME A BOOKWORM
Find the time to search the menus. The Animus 2.0 has a remarkably deep database with entries on all the major characters, locations and more. Delve in and not only will you learn a thing or four about the Renaissance and the people who lived there (the database is almost entirely factual), you might chuckle a few times too.
8 LEARN NEW MOVES
Don't ignore the mercenaries standing outside Mario's villa. They form part of the most important - and most overlooked - features of the game: combat training. Spend florins to beef up your fighting skills and improve your technique with the heavier weapons in the game.
9 FIGHT DIRTY
Don't bother with fair fights and gentlemanly rules. Play dirty. Hire a band of mercenaries to distract alert enemies and then run round behind your foes. Hit X when by somebody's back and you'll slide your sword through their torso for a one-hit-KO every single time. Combat's never been so simple...
10 SMOKE 'EM OUT
...until now. They said smoke bombs were for getaways. They were wrong. If there's no sign of friendly mercenaries to hire just drop a smoke bomb to the floor and start stabbing with your hidden blade. Streets of Brutes can be downed in seconds as they'll all be too busy coughing to counter your attacks.
11. MAKE A GUARD GO POSTAL
Find any guard in a crowded area, poison him, throw money round and let hilarity ensue!
12. Punch a Bard!! Those bastards :-\
I've already finished it but I'm going to have to go back and try a few of these things!!
Assassin's Creed 2 takes seven at MI6 Awards
(http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/12/ac2_s_008-1024.jpg)
As if Assassin's Creed 2 hadn't already taken enough prestigious awards (not to mention a number two spot in our best of 2009 list), the MI6 released word today that the game also earned seven gold awards in marketing at the fifth annual MI6 Awards on April 1 in San Francisco. From "Outstanding Overall Integrated Marketing Campaign" (though all the cool kids call it the "OOIMC" -- pronounced "oo-imp-ka") to "Outstanding TV or Theatrical Ad Campaign," AC2 swept the awards show, only closely lead by Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles and NBA 2K10 at four each (remember folks, these are awards for marketing).
If you'd like, the whole list is available here (http://www.mi6conference.com/revised_MI6_FinalWinners_sg.pdf) (in PDF format, so you know).
Assassin's Creed 2 enters Guinness World Records 2010
Yes, Assassin's Creed 2 has been awarded with a Guinness World Record. You might be surprised, however, to learn that it has nothing to do with how good the game is. No, Assassin's Creed 2 has been awarded the world record for "being the most cover-featured video game." In other words, it appeared on more magazine covers between April 2009 and April 2010 than any other game.
According to the press release, Assassin's Creed 2 appeared on 127 covers throughout 32 different countries. Said Gaz Deaves, editor of the Guinness World Records Gamer's Edition, "I'm sure plenty of commentators (including myself) would have predicted another well-known game winning the title instead, and this achievement is even more impressive in view of the other 2009 releases that Assassin's Creed 2 was able to beat."
While it's an impressive feat by any standard -- and one Ubisoft marketing must be proud of -- we have to wonder if the record would hold up to closer scrutiny of games released before 2009. After all, there aren't as many gaming magazines around as there used to be, and a few games -- Street Fighter, Tomb Raider and Mortal Kombat come to mind -- appeared on quite a few magazine covers in the past. What do you say, Ubisoft competitors? Anyone want to do some research and challenge the record?
And it deserves it! Can't wait for the next game... or whatever the add on is ???
Assassin's Creed teases on Facebook
Assassin's Creed antagonist Dr. Warren Vidic has popped up on Facebook and left a mysterious message.
"It is the time of our rising. A new age enters and a great battle looms. Templar destiny is at hand and waiting for you. - Dr. Vidic," a status update on the Assassin's Creed page read (http://www.facebook.com/assassinscreed).
A "great battle", you say? Could this be the multiplayer episode of Assassin's Creed II raising its head? It would fit the timeline Ubisoft provided (http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/assassins-creed-mp-episode-by-april-2011) earlier in the year.
An announcement, however, is likely to be positioned for E3 next month.
But we'll pester the publisher nonetheless.

Assassin's will be as big as GTA – Ubi
Stab-'em-up series Assassin's Creed will be as big as Grand Theft Auto "in the not-too-distant future", Ubisoft reckons.
"To be honest, I'm not sure we're there yet," UK marketing boss Murray Pannell told Eurogamer when asked whether Assassin's Creed will be as big as GTA.
"But I don't see any reason why we shouldn't get there at some point in the not-too-distant future. That's about longevity and building decent products, properly marketed, and getting the name out there.
"I believe with the success of Assassin's 2 we have now got an opportunity to position ourselves as one of the true triple-A blockbusters. Are we as big as things like GTA and Halo and things of that nature? Possibly not at this point. But I think we are uniquely poised now as a property, as a franchise, to certainly consider ourselves one of the must-have games whenever a game launches on Assassin's Creed in the franchise."
While Assassin's Creed is a phenomenally successful series, it still has some way to go before it matches Grand Theft Auto's spectacular sales and mainstream appeal.
In May Ubisoft said Assassin's Creed II sold "nearly nine million units" during its last financial year, which ended on 31st March 2010.
In March Take Two revealed that GTAIV had sold over 15 million units worldwide.
Pannell said Ubisoft will grow Assassin's Creed through continued critical success and aggressive advertising.
He said: "It's fair to say Assassin's 1 promised a lot and slightly under-delivered in terms of gameplay. Assassin's 2 promised even more and actually this time delivered on it. And I believe quality of the game will be a fundamental part of positioning ourselves in that blockbuster franchise space.
"As marketing director, it's part of our role and responsibility to position it from a consumer point of view as one of those big blockbusters through decent marketing campaigns. One thing we've been doing already is advertising Assassin's: Brotherhood on TV this summer, three or four months before launch. That only helps position it in consumers' minds as, 'This is a big game I need to consider as one of the true blockbuster franchises'."
Pannell expects Brotherhood, due out in November this year, to sell more copies than Assassin's Creed 2.
"In terms of expectations, people should certainly see this as a full price product with as much depth of gameplay if not more than the version we brought out a year ago. We're certainly positioning it that way. We're investing in the product in that way. And in terms of our expectations from a sales point of view, we'd see it doing at least as well as Assassin's 2, if not, ideally, better."
I loved the first two games, still need to finish the second though. Can't wait for brotherhood and i hope the series continues long into the future.
me too and i hope the achievements stay easily doable too.
Just got this from Lovefilm ahead of Brotherhoods release on Friday. I was wondering if the DLC is worthwhile, I read some descriptions and it doesn't sound like it adds much to the game/story.
Anyone downloaded 'Sequence 12: Battle of Forli' or 'Sequence 13: Bonfire of the Vanities'?
