Because it's never too early....
Following an enormously successful, gamer-powered show in 2017, E3 invites the global video game community to experience its best E3 yet, taking place June 12-14, 2018, at the Los Angeles Convention Center. The Entertainment Software Association (ESA), the trade association that represents the US video game industry and owns and produces E3, today announced that E3 public ticket sales will begin on Monday, February 12, at 12 p.m. Eastern. Media and industry registration is open now.
“Gamers raise the energy of E3 to a fever pitch, reinforcing its place as the world’s preeminent event for video games,†said Michael D. Gallagher, president and CEO of ESA.
ESA announced several updates to the show. E3 2018 will feature extended show hours to accommodate all attendees, providing industry and media exclusive time on the show floor without cutting short gamers’ opportunities to play the most anticipated games of the year. Additionally, E3 Coliseum will return to L.A. Live with producer Geoff Keighley (The Game Awards) to give gamers three full days of panels and behind-the-scenes access to the show’s biggest announcements.
“E3 draws the biggest names in video games and entertainment for an incredible worldwide experience,†Keighley said. “And with three days of programming, this year’s E3 Coliseum will bring together video game fans, game creators, and special guests from popular culture to celebrate the most powerful form of entertainment in the world.â€Los Angeles Convention Center hours for E3 (all times Pacific):Tuesday, June 12: 11 a.m. â€" 7 p.m.

Bethesda Tosses Their Hat Into The Ring -
Save the date! We’re creating a special E3 evening just for you, and we hope you can join us for our fourth annual BE3 Showcase on Sunday, June 10 at 6:30 pm PT. Official invitations will be sent out at a later date and will contain additional details about the event and how to register.
Kotaku Is Reporting the following as an E3 Schedule lineup (tentative) -
EA - Saturday, June 9, 11am Pacific Time
From sports to shooters to... more sports, EA will kick us off with an opening presentation from EA Play, the publisher’s event in Los Angeles. (EA stopped officially participating in E3 a few years ago.) We can expect to see a new Battlefield, an in-depth look at Bioware’s Anthem, and hopefully some other cool surprises.
Microsoft - Sunday, June 10, 1pm Pacific Time
It looks like Team Xbox has moved permanently from its previous Monday morning slot to Sunday afternoon, which helps spread out the fun. Microsoft has a lot of pressure to compete with Sony’s fantastic lineup of exclusives, so this will be one to watch. New Gears of War is a safe bet, but what else does Xbox have to show? And what t-shirts will Phil Spencer be wearing?
Bethesda - Sunday, June 10, 6:30pm Pacific Time
The publisher of Fallout and Doom won’t make people stay up all night this time, as it has thankfully moved this year’s press conference back to a more reasonable hour. (Last year’s started at 9pm PT, or midnight Eastern time.) Bethesda doesn’t have a single announced game at the moment, so this presser should be full of news. Some safe guesses include Prey DLC and whatever’s next from Fallout 4 developer Bethesda Game Studios.
Ubisoft - Monday, June 11, 1pm Pacific Time
The folks behind Assassin’s Creed and Watch Dogs always put on a good show, stuffing their presser with big announcements and “one more thingâ€-style surprises. We know we’ll see The Division 2 and Skull and Bones, but what about a new Splinter Cell? Or the next Assassin’s Creed? And how’s Beyond Good and Evil 2 doing these days?
Sony and Nintendo have not yet announced their plans, but Sony typically holds its press conference on Monday night, while Nintendo has spent the past few years airing a special pre-recorded Nintendo Direct on Tuesday morning. Nintendo has also already announced an E3 tournament for the upcoming Smash Bros. on Switch.

Additionally to showcasing a pretty strong lineup at E3, Microsoft announced a bunch of studio purchases and partnerships...Ninja Theory kind of felt more out of the blue. Here's some more background from the studio itself.
Via [Polygon (https://www.polygon.com/e3/2018/6/10/17446694/microsoft-xbox-internal-studios-exclusives)] here's a list and brief summaries of the acquisitions-
The Initiative: This entirely new Santa Monica, California-based studio is being headed up by Darrell Gallagher, former studio head at Crystal Dynamics, of Tomb Raider fame. His charter at The Initiative is to assemble “world-class talent to create groundbreaking new game experiences.â€
Undead Labs: The Seattle-based team behind State of Decay and State of Decay 2, both Xbox/PC exclusives, is officially joining the Microsoft fold. Undead Labs is headed up by Jeff Strain, who cut his teeth at Blizzard and ArenaNet before striking out on his own.
Playground Games: The U.K.-based team behind the Xbox/PC-exclusive Forza Horizon series is similarly making its Microsoft relationship permanent. Spencer noted that the studio has been limited to Forza Horizon games, but it will now bring its “open-world expertise to an entirely new project.â€
Ninja Theory: Spencer first worked with Ninja Theory for Kung-Fu Chaos back in the early Xbox days. And now, the storied developer behind Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice â€" as well as DmC: Devil May Cry, Enslaved: Odyssey to the West and the PS3 exclusive Heavenly Sword â€" is a Microsoft first-party developer.
Compulsion Games: The Canadian developer behind the upcoming We Happy Few joins Microsoft just in advance of the game’s August release. That title is being published by Gearbox for both Xbox One, Windows and PlayStation 4; it’s unclear if Microsoft’s acquisition will change those plans.
