Namco Bandai introduces gravity-flipping shooter Inversion
(http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/10/inversion1020.jpg)
Namco Bandai and TimeShift developer Saber Interactive hope you'll flip for their new shooter Inversion. Because it literally features the ability to reverse gravity.
The third-person shooter takes place during an invasion by the alien Lutadore, which happens to coincide with the appearance of random "bubbles" of anti-gravity or gravitational vector change (just go with it). That means that at various times throughout the game, you'll enter an area and start floating, or be flipped over as the ceiling suddenly becomes the floor.
The player, as cop Davis Russel or, uh, cop's neighbor Leo Delgado, is armed with a Grappler weapon that allows the manipulation of gravity to move giant objects around. This permits the player to move enemies' cover or make their own out of items in the environment. Or to just throw stuff.
Inversion will ship sometime in 2010 on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

First time for me too, doesn't look too bad, i'd like to see a trailer though.
Whoa! this looks pretty badass, though i do agree a trailer and maybe some gameplay footage would be nice. Thanx for the thread G-man!
First time for me too ... virgins.
The lighting effects look gorgeous, but it's hard to say for sure until you see it in "motion". So far I can't find a trailer or gameplay footage.

Inversion release date slips to 2012, new screensGravity-defying shooter gets polishing timeTopsy-turvy shooter Inversion will be released on February 12, 2012, developer Saber Interactive (TimeShift) has announced.
In case you're wondering what we're on about, the third-person shooter sees world peace brought to an end by the invasion of an unknown enemy called the Lutadore, who wield a futuristic gravity-bending weapon.
Players will use the Grappler weapon to manipulate gravity in combat and to overcome obstacles.
"Grappler can be used in countless combat situations by manoeuvring massive objects as shields or projectiles, and moving camped enemies out of concealed cover so they can be blasted away," explained publisher Namco Bandai.
Saber told CVG that the extra development time will be used to polish and tone up the shooter, so we should probably expect a pretty solid package when it eventually lands next year.
Still no gameplay footage but here's a teaser trailer:

:)
Sadly, split-screen will probably be scrapped since there's so much going on graphically onscreen. :(
we'd have bought it if it was splitscreen

do you need splitscreen for split-personality?
Failed always needs the splitscreen!

is it me or reminds you guys of some other games...
if Bulletstorm and Inception had sexytime, Inversion would their kid..
Inversion given UK release date
Inversion, the next game from TimeShift maker Saber Interactive, will release on 8th February 2012.
Very specific for a game nearly a year away, Namco Bandai.
Inversion, crudely, is Gears of War with a gravity gun. There is co-op, there are biceps; there is cover and there are bayonet attachments with which to make a point.
"To be perfectly honest, we used Gears as an inspiration. We're not going to shy away from it - it's a good game, and why reinvent the wheel?" Saber boss Matthew Karch asked Eurogamer last year.
"I think what we're bringing new is really on the physics front."
"Yeah, I'm sure some people are going to say that, and that's fine. As long as we can match what Gears is doing... We love that game, so why not?"
tis good they man-up and say 'yeh, we are like Gears but we've got Gravity altering tricks'. Wether it works or not, Prey was brilliant and i'd have guessed at atleast a couple of gravity-clones that never appeared in the end.
Fracture was similar, Gears with Terrain altering effects
Gravity Defying World Trailer:
nice trailer - its got my interest
Gotta love the awesome gameplay footage .......... oh wait!
True - with the deadline just about less than a year away, seems something should have appeared by now - [Official Website (http://www.inversion.com/)]
To be fair it was a pretty cool trailer, we'd all just like to see some gameplay footage, no doubt we'll get some at E3. :)
Ok, so we're getting closer:

still looks good, only proper gameplay will prove if this becomes the next 'Dark Void' or not.
