OFLC rating outs 'Ghost Recon: Predator'

Ubisoft's tentatively titled Ghost Recon 4 may just be "Ghost Recon: Predator" -- that is, if this OFLC classification is any indication. The classification itself is pretty barren, save for the title of the game, the fact that it's multiplatform and it's rated MA 15+. Still, given the title, it's a pretty safe bet that this will be a Ghost Recon game more in line with the roots of the series and not another Advanced Warfighter -- mostly because it doesn't have "Advanced Warfighter" in the title.
Hopefully, Ubisoft will confirm sooner rather than later. We definitely encourage the company to do so, especially if it still hopes to get the game on shelves by March 2010.
When I first bought an Xbox 360, it came with one of the Ghost Recon games. At the time I hated it, but that was before I got used to military-based shooters. Up to that point, Halo 2 was the only game I played that was remotely close to the genre.
New Ghost Recon confirmed
"It will rival Assassin's Creed as our biggest game of the year" says Ubisoft.
Ubisoft has confirmed that it is working on a brand new Ghost Recon title, CVG reports.
"The evolution of Ghost Recon will bring a completely new and fresh approach to the shooter genre," said Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot.
"The title is so impressive, it has the potential to rival Assassin's Creed as our biggest game of fiscal year '11."
CVG also points out that Ubisoft trademarked Ghost Recon: Future Soldier last year. So all signs are pointing to a new Ghost Recon - what do you want to see from the next entry in the series?

Does that mean Ubisoft plans on releasing Assassin's Creed 3 next year?
Or Rainbow Six 3?
Ubisoft has releases the first ever teaser trailer for Ghost Recon Future Soldier.
Unfortunately, with it being a teaser trailer, that means you don't get a lot of information to work with - it's the usual CGI trailer announcement rather than any meaty gameplay to analyse and dissect.
Even so, we're sure it'll be of interest to you Ghost Recon fans, so here it is.

There's A Ghost Recon Prize In Every Box Of Splinter Cell: Conviction
(http://cache.gawkerassets.com/assets/images/9/2010/04/500x_tomcalcnfed.jpg)
Ubisoft drops new details on the latest game in their modern warfare franchise, Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Future Soldier, including news that every copy of Splinter Cell: Conviction will come packed with an invite to this summer's multiplayer beta.
Splinter Cell: Conviction launches tomorrow in North America, and for a limited time, players who pick up a copy will score an invite to this summer's multiplayer beta of Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Future Soldier, giving them a chance to try out the online portion of the game in advance of its fall release date.
The latest iteration of the series will feature soldiers wearing powered exoskeletons, allowing them to run faster, jump higher, and hit harder than ever before. The focus is definitely future tech, though close-quarters combat will be a major feature of the new title as well, giving players a combination of devastating ranged weapons and combat drones, will still maintaining the ability to shove a combat knife through an enemy's throat at close range.
The game will feature a full single-player and cooperative multiplayer storyline, in which the player takes on the role of a new Ghost named Kozack, the U.S. military's answer to a coup that unseats the Russian president. A complex order system will allow the player to control his teammates, utilizing their special high-tech abilities as the need arises.
It sounds like Ubisoft is gearing up to take on Modern Warfare in a big way.
"The Ghost Recon franchise set the standard for the next-generation gaming experience," said Tony Key, senior vice president of sales and marketing at Ubisoft. "With Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Future Soldier, Ubisoft is amplifying the core values of the series – the sophisticated technology, weaponry, graphics, story and online gameplay – with the production values of a Hollywood blockbuster to deliver a stunning package that will make players truly feel like the elite soldier of tomorrow."
Will they succeed? We'll find out this summer, when Ubisoft delivers the first taste of Ghost Recon: Future Soldier's multiplayer to the masses.
Ghost Recon: Future Soldier Is Natal Enabled
According to french video games website Jeuxvideo, Ghost Recon: Future Soldier will be playable using Project Natal. The first person shooter from Ubisoft is supposed to have a special game mode that will allow movement recognition, controller aim mixed with hand gestures to control the interface and the ability to give commands by wrist directed movements.
Translated quote:
"As we know, Ubisoft will be one of the most active publishers during the launch of Project Natal, the motion recognition device to Microsoft. If it was not until the heyday of E3 2010 before the Redmond company will launch an armada on its accessory called "revolutionary," we are now able to disclose proprietary information on a operator of the first games Natal.
According to our sources, the upcoming Ghost Recon: Future Soldier would be compatible with the device. A special game mode would therefore benefit from the recognition of movements, the aim being to keep the joystick in one hand and interact with the interface with your other paw. It is even possible to give orders through different types of movements directed by the wrist. You can imagine ... and we share your sentiment. "

That was awesome, can't wait for part 2.
Not sure about anyone else, but i'm loving this one so far. Only a couple hours into the single player, but it feels great. The gun customization is super deep. I can see lots of time being lost in all the options you have for each weapon. Cant wait to get in and try some multiplayer!
Ya picked this up yesterday, played about an hour of it. Looks very promising. The gameplay is very fluid. The achievements look totally geared up for multiplayer.
It’s one of these games you get a redeemable code with the purchase of the game for multiplayer gameplay. If your planning on picking this up 2nd hand you’ll have to purchase another code for online gameplay ???
Never played any of the other Splinter Cell games before. So far so good in this one…….
I just picked it up. Won't be able to do some
Co op till Monday. But if anyone else is interested let me know.
Yea i'm not really excited that they worked the achievements the way they did. It always makes me feel that multiplayer becomes mandatory. I will give them a try though. If anyone else is looking to get them let me know, lets knock them out :)
